  1. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 2, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) They've reduced the number of Arrested Development for that garbage... I hope you guys are enjoying your Sunday evening cartoons 'cause a great show is about to get sacrificed for it... I didn't think Fox was airing American Dad - surprised me to see it. Family Guy was hysterical. Brian and I were laughing so hard at the Brian-Stewie scenes - especially the comment Stewie makes - "Did I turn the stove off?" (I often ask Brian that question myself which is why we found it so funny.) We missed seeing Quagmire though and the Drunken Clam.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) For all who are interesting, here is an update on things. We have a new ultra-sound pic at home, I just don't have a program to resize it, or I would have posted it. http://boringtheworld.blogspot.com/ Glad to hear everything is going well!
  3. Merged for your reading pleasure (Jeckle and Nuke's threads).
  4. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) Anyways, since I have nothing productive to add I'd like to mention that I think David Dejesus has the greatest nickname that Chris Berman can't say on tv "nobody f***s with De-jesus" LMAO!
  5. After you rendered your decision, did you go through any guilt type of stuff? I am confident we came up with the right verdict based on the evidence presented to us, but that didn't stop me from crying after we left the court house. Brian got home within minutes of me and asked me about the case. He saw I was crying and asked me what was wrong. I explained everything and he said based on what I told him, the verdict we rended was the only one we could. There were other things he confirmed for me that helped me to believe that we (the jury) came up with the correct verdict based on the evidence presented to us. I prayed before going in this morning that God would impart the strength and knowledge to make the right decision. I hope that He did and we did make the right decision. I didn't think I would feel this way after the verdict. I guess that is because the last time I was on a jury, the crime wasn't this serious.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) In my numerous visits to this and other "haunted" sites in Chicagoland(I used to give tours in college), I never heard nuthin', never saw nuthin', never felt nuthin'. At different times, Brian and my sister were there during their high school years and tell me the same thing (that they saw, felt and heard nothing). But yet when I ask them to go with me (because I have never been there), they absolutely refuse to go. Drive passed there all the time though, just never stopped and walked over to the cemetary. I think going there would break my heart though (see the headstones toppled and garbage strewn about the place though).
  7. I fell asleep after the 8th inning. When the alarm went off this morning I fell asleep for a few minutes and had a dream (which I thought was real for a few minutes) that Sox came back and won 11-9. After Brian left, I fired up the puter to check the score cuz I still didn't know if it was the radio or I was dreaming. Alas, I was dreaming and out of morbid curiousity I surfed here for a few minutes before going back to sleep. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. GO SOX! (since I most likely won't see any of the game)
  8. Men Dig Up Buried Treasure Worth $100,000 METHUEN, Mass. -- Two Massachusetts men digging around a tree have uncovered buried treasure. They found the loot in a wooden box. It contained $100, $1 , $2 and $20 bills, all dating as far back as 1899. The cash, along with gold and silver certificates and a few bank notes, was inside rusty tin cans placed inside the box. A local coin collector said the buried treasure is real and is worth more than $100,000. Some speculate boot-leggers or bank robbers buried the valuables. The men said they didn't care where it came from, they were just thrilled to find it. "All of sudden, I find this rotten crate with all these tin cans of money," said Tim Crebase. "Bills after bills after bills after bills. It was unreal." As for their new found riches, one of the men said he planned to buy a new car, the other said he planned to use the money to help promote his rock band. **************************************************************** There are a few pictures of the money they found on the story's web page. I've seen silver certificates before, but not the gold certs or the 1907 $5 bill or the $2 George Washington silver certificate bill.
  9. We got beef sandwiches a couple weeks ago from Portillos. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm He gets his with mozzarella only (okay, sometimes red sauce, but not that often) and I get mine with hot peppers only. Drooling just thinking about it. When I attended UIC, I went to Al's one time and was not impressed at all. Maybe it was just an off day. Brian said when they were at Wicklander they would go to Taylor street for lunch all the time (Illinois Bar and Grill, Al's, etc) and said he was never that crazy about Al's either.
  10. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) I have hear that as soon as you are done with the drilling though, the relief of the pain is so great that the drilling is nothing. That's what Brian told me when he used a hot pin on his middle finger nail after getting in caught on the feeder area (I think) of the press.

    Sniff, sniff...

So sorry. I know how hard it is to lose a pet that's been with me for 2-3 years, I couldn't imagine losing a pet that has been with me for 9 years.
  12. Hopefully I can get home from court (actually on a jury) early enough to catch at least the last inning or two. GO SOX!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) The easiest way to do this procedure is to heat the needle or paper clip or whatever you use. It will just melt right through the nail. No drilling needed. My sister had that done as well as Brian (a couple times). The last time when I got home from work (he broke his hand at work and the doctor was going to pierce the nail and Brian said that he or his sister would - she is a CFD paramedic), and he made sure he waited to do that until I was home and proceeded to chase me around with the blood squirting out. Then of course later when the nail was about to fall off he made sure he showed me several times then as well lol.

    20 questions.

It took 22 guesses to get hamster. lol Off to jury duty with me! Later gang!
  15. Something from Yahoo game recap I found interesting:
  16. We (soxtalk posters) need to take a note from this. If the Sox don't care what reporters/experts thing, why should we? GO SOX!
  17. Had to check in before going to jury duty. I had meant to get to sleep at about 10:30, but due to sinus issues and not being able to get in a position where I could breathe (I woke myself up twice in a matter of minutes from not breathing - it sucks), I decided to turn the TV back on and lo and behold, the Sox were up 6-0!!! I knew I had to get up early and post here before heading off. JG has way surpassed my expectations so far this year. He seems to have a ton more of confidence and concentration than I have seen in the past. Keep it up JG and GO SOX!!!
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) I saw this on Fox News. Sad story. I fear the mom, who reported them missing, had something to do with it, but I hope I am wrong. That was the tone of the news this morning before their bodies were found.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) I think we all need to just enjoy this team while we can... My mom always tells me to enjoy today for tomorrow may never get here.
  20. Police: Bodies Of Missing Georgia Kids Found POSTED: 5:53 am CDT April 25, 2005 WARRENTON, Ga. -- Police say the bodies of a missing 2-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother have been found not far from their east Georgia home. The bodies of Nicole and Jonah Payne were found about 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in a small pond near the family's Warren County home. It was not immediately clear if the youngsters drowned. The discovery capped a frantic search for the children that began when they vanished Saturday. Earlier Monday, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation official said the search had reached a "critical point." Spokesman John Bankhead said "every resource" was being used to find the children. Nicole Payne, 3, And Jonah Payne, 4 The 2-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother were reported missing Saturday night after last being seen at their home in east Georgia -- about 100 miles from Atlanta. The circumstances of Nicole and Jonah Payne's disappearance are not known. Temperatures dipped into the 30s Saturday night when the children were reported missing by their mother, Lottie Kain. Law officials said they thoroughly searched the woods around the family's east Georgia home, but went over the area again Monday. A sheriff's dispatcher said the search, which included police, a dog team and a helicopter, was halted for a while Sunday afternoon while agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation questioned the children's mother at her home. Dive teams were called because several small ponds are near the home.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) I saw this video this morning.. it's obvious that they weren't using force, and I agree with those saying it's not a big deal. I think the actions were meant to scare her.. and if that will stop her from assulting others in the future, then I am for it. I would have thanked the police.. then my sweet child would have a date with the time out corner when she got home. ^^^ what she said.
  22. I just find it funny that 1) he is rehashing something that seems to have been settled 2) tells half a story (the Maggs thing) and 3) the best thing he could find to write about a team that is 15-4 is that the manager has a big mouth. Ozzie does have a big mouth, but the writer might try writing the full story instead of bits and pieces to make a story, so to speak.
  23. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Chicago-St Louis-Arizona Yup! I still slip and call them the St Louis Cardinals from time to time lol.
