  1. I think the point Steff was making was that you thought her self-forced upchucking was okay as long as it was restaurant food.
  2. A rather interesting transcript.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) It has a ways to go until it finds resistance. Plenty of resistance here.

  5. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Gobstoppers are good Not as good as Nerds!
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Yea. Makes sense. I've heard that in almost every case of bulemia that potassium deficiency becomes an issue at some point (no, I don't have a link, it was something I read).
  7. So bulemia is the eating disorder that was being referred to that she suffered from before she had the potassium issue?
  8. I really think that at least some of these things that were "leaked" to the press about the hubby doing thus and such were created (or at least exagerated) to make him look bad. I just have my doubts that he is really that much of a monster. Why would he still be voicing an opinion after how many years if he didn't care? It doesn't make a lot of sense especially since there appears to be nothing to gain financially (unless something was mis-reported).
  9. I didn't see it, but I doubt it was on purpose. Then again, what the hell do I know? lol
  10. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) It was a good thing you got to see her one more time before she passed away. My family's never had to face this decision. So I really don't know what it feels like to confront it. We went through it with my gramp when I was 16. It's tough. I didn't have to make the decision, but I saw how it affected my mom and her sisters.
  11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) That's good to hear. Were there guards present at the time? Actually, the only good is that my gramma was taken out of her pain and misery. No, we were in agreement about her treatment so there was no need for it.

    censorship

    I editted it because you used a racial slur. That isn't tolerated here.
  13. When we took my gramma off life supports (2 years ago this April) the doctors suggested someone be at the bedside whenever possible. My aunts did the first day and on the second day we (my mom and myself) went in said a few prayers talked to her and told her it was okay to go. She died about 10-15 minutes after we walked out of the room. When someone is taken off lifesupports, it is encouraged to be at the bedside and speak with the patient.
  14. I really think it was an honest question. Sleepy joined late January and might not have seen him post before. No need to be jumping down each other's throats yet .

  16. White smoke means a pope and dark smoke means no pope yet (or something like that)... or maybe I transferring what I saw in the movie Shoes of the Fisherman (I think that was the name of it).
  17. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Watching Jim Gaffigan today: The Pope...you know there has to be some guy in Poland watching his TV, seeing the Pope and saying to his friends in the retirement home "I went to school with the Pope. He was a dick!" I must be going to hell, I can't stop laughing at that.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Maybe they can appoint a chick to straighten things out.. LOL!
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Do they already have a "next in line" picked..?? I thought those meetings didn't happen until after he dies/gives up the seat? I am sure there is likely a favorite, but I wonder if any of us would ever be privy to that...
  20. My gramma endured this in her last few years and was subsequently put on a feeding tube. She had some brain damage from doctors who didn't read an MRI correctly and thusly allowed brain bleeding to go on for an extended period of time. The brain damage caused problems in swallowing which caused her to choke when she would try to swallow. She learned to eat again, but soon after suffered a stroke and never was able to eat again.
  21. Is there a way to make text scroll across the screen? It's available on another message board I frequent and couldn't get it to work here... [move] Maybe this will work [/move] -> this is what is used at another message board [scroll] Maybe this will work [/scroll]
