    QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) "3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue." DOH!!! I just tested a 9 volt like that yesterday!!! At my last job, we always had a ton of those laying around. My boss mentioned doing that (I can't remember if he was saying he did that or people that used to be employed there though). No thank ya! lol
  3. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Paulie boy with a double.
  4. Poor kid! Thank the Lord she is going to be okay though.
  5. A little from A, a little from B... lol If I had to pick one it would be 2003.
  6. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) As a high school student I couldn't be happier, White Sox baseball on a day off that nobody recognizes- Pulaski Day!!!! Someone tell the people calling me that today is some sort of holiday please - I generally get maybe 10 calls on a Monday and already I have had 14 and have 5 hrs to go. I can't wait to get to the gym tonight.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) In the 1950s, Nicholai was a criminal living in Prague. Before long, the police were on his trail. Nicholai fled to Budapest, where he hid in the home of his cousin, Josef. That didn't work; the police soon found him. They arrested both men. Nicholai was charged with his crimes in Prague. And Josef was charged with caching a bad Czech!
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) Just a buzz... But apparently subpeona's are going to be issued. I hope that is the way it goes down - a better chance of getting the truth.
  9. As I mentioned in the "official" thread, my dad said it wasn't until recently that partying happened in Ireland on St Patrick's day (he came over here late 1971 and his brother goes back annually). He said the local town where he grew up still doesn't party - it's a time for family and sharing a meal or at least a cup of tea. As much of a drinker as my dad was when I was growing up, St Patrick's Day was one day where he didn't drink.

    Oldest women?

    I know in Europe they did - the dates were often guesses though (at least for people that were born on farms).
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) As of 12:31 PM, I have had 8 pints of Guinness, a shot of Jager, a shot of amaretto, and a OJ and Bacardi. You must be quite the drinker to have ingested all that and still coherently write that sentence.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I think they meant the last episode at all. He was supposed to anchor this new series and they had shot a couple of episodes already. I think tonight must be the last time Lenny appears in ANY L&O. That's what the radio said. Depressed me a bit.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) /\ And WCOM, and TYCO, and so on and so on... TYCO almost bought the last company I worked for but that was kaboshed and Invensys bought them.
  14. QUOTE(Jake @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) haha i have that card somewhere I have several of them as well.
  15. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) No kidding, I can't stand her. She should still be in jail where she belongs. :rolly As soon as the people that did what was done in Enron are rotting in jail, then let's talk about the small potatoes known as Martha Stewart.
  16. Holy rip off batman! I filled up Brian's Mustang on Wednesday at 1.97 a gallon and I went yesterday to the same gas station and it was 2.18!!! I was sick to my stomach after that.
  17. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Traverso's Brian has been telling me how great it is and yet everytime I suggest going he doesn't want to (too close to his mom's house lol).
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) SVU is on at 8 and TBJ is 9pm today. I have no idea if that will be the regular time or not. 9 is great - I will be home and have the groceries put away by then.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) They debuted it in ER's spot, but I think tonight is their regular night. I know it is on again tonight. Would you know the time by any chance? If not I will swing by the nbc tv show page and find out.
  20. Good to hear you made it out alive and didn't try to play hero (I know too many people that would try that). for you. That was my biggest fear when I worked behind the counter at the customer service desk at the grocery store during college. I guess the armed off-duty Chicago cops kept the people contimplating robbery away - they stuck with shop lifting.
  21. My dad's from Ireland and said he was surprised when he saw how much drinking and partying goes on here on the 17th. He said it is different in the big cities in Ireland now, but back when he was growing up it was for visiting friends and family and either sharing a meal or tea.
  22. Dammit - it was last night? The radio said it was tonight. I just wanted to see Lenny one last time.
