Crash on Ryan kills 2
QUOTE(CubKilla @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Pretty much. Under Blago, who is trying to balance the State budget on the backs of the State workers, State Police presence on Chicagoland Expressways has gotten dangerously low. State Police are now pretty much relegated to cleaning up the messes after they happen. Fatalities are on the rise big time in '05 from '04. Time for Blago to give his wife a few million more to plant flowers alongside the expressways. They did that thing where they flooded the Tri-State with troopers for a day. Thing that amazes me is that (from my experience anyways), people travel the fastest on I-294, but yet the worst wrecks don't seem to happen there. My boss left his house at 5:10 to get to work between 6:30 and 7 and he didn't get here until about 8:15 (only a few minutes before me and I left at 7:45!).

A BIG Breakfast at BK
QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) I love the wedding ring with the emeralds! Thanks! We haven't picked his out yet, but because he would only be wearing it now and then (working on presses and cars with a wedding ring in't a good idea lol), he wants a simple band with a celtic design.

Extreme Makeover = Extreme $$ owed...
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) That's property tax, not income tax. Not the same thing. No kidding, where did I say it was? I was just showing a real world example based on the comment Tex made.

A BIG Breakfast at BK
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) That's going to stunt your growth little girl . . . Trying to stay fitting into your wedding dress? Have you picked the bride's maids torture, errrrrr, dresses yet? Lol - dresses are picked out and ordered (they picked. The yogurt is just cuz I like it. I have been trying to watch what I eat cuz of the dress, but also because I am terrified of developing the problems my parents have (diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol).

A BIG Breakfast at BK
During the week, my breakfast is a cup of fat free/sugar free yogurt and several cups of coffee. My typical weekend breakfast is either oatmeal or a bowl of cold cereal and several cups of coffee. Every now and then (once in a great while) I will make some sausage.

For those of you with a full time job...
I was just surprised when I spoke with family and friends this weekend and not one person saw their job as at least tolerable. Everyone was just miserable with their job status. Yeah, we are all happy we have jobs (been in the position without one and it sucks), but not one of us was happy or at least at a point where they were "tolerating" their jobs (i.e. not necessarily happy, but wasn't at a point where they were hating their job). I know where I am there isn't much of any fringe benefits and the benefits we do have are marginal at best. At least there is health, dental and 401K. Guess I can't ask for much more.

For those of you with a full time job...
QUOTE(TheDybber @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) As the old saying goes, if work were fun, it would be called something else. With my job I would be happy if it were tolerable rather than what it is. Happy isn't something I see as a possibility with my current job.

Extreme Makeover = Extreme $$ owed...
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) A similar situation occured when you have the $300,000 house and development of $1,000,000 homes happen all around you. You're real and "paper" values go up. Most tax districts base your appraised value on similar houses that have sold in your neighborhood. It isn't an exact science. That's exactly what happened in my neighborhood. They built three houses that each sold for about 400K. That, as our Alderwoman told us will end up raising taxes at least a bit. Before the houses were finished we finished a gut and remodel on our house and that raised the value from 140K (or so) to about 300K (or so). At this point we are some how protected from it going up for another year, but after that we have been told it will go up quite a bit.

For those of you with a full time job...
I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning after doing a lot of visiting and hearing everyone I know complain about their job and I was just wondering how many people here are happily employed.

Which limo should I take?
Mr QP-to-be here: This is the station wagon posted above on steroids - MY NEXT AQUISITION! MWAHAHAHAHA! (it's a 72 Merc Montego GT - the wagon is a 74) It explains why the limo for the wedding is a 1970 Merc Cyclone GT.

Article on Backmasking
QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I suppose I'm the only one that thought this had something to do with the back.. and some masking tape.. ? No, I was thinking something similar. I was thinking it was something to do with tatooing or something lol.

Which limo should I take?
QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) If you ride up in this, dayum, the ladies would be all over you. No but if I got this, Brian would be all over me lol. (He is a Mercury freak - we currently have 6 from the period between 1969-1985 and a 1970 Ford that we found out was super rare.) Er...um...so where would I find this fine mechanical beast?

Article on Backmasking
I wonder what it says about Brian and myself since we are using the song "Another One Bites The Dust" as the song we are being introduced by at our reception lol. (For the record, neither of us have ever touched the stuff mentioned in the article.)

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) I didn't vote either PA.. and it's not because I don't have an opinion on it.. it's because I don't feel it was my place to vote on ending or continuing someone's life. Makes three of us.
