Bears/ FudgePackers thread
Queen Prawn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The pack won inspite of Farve today, not because. The sad thing is that the Bears' offense is responsible for a lot of the Packers points. Will we ever see Rex on the field? -
This can be said for any profession.

Cool - like I've mentioned, I don't know much about him, except what's posted. Yeah, the Jaime type of attitude is unnerving. If Esteban went through 2 or 3 loses that were 1-0 losses without whining, Perez should be able to as well.

4.50 ERA in the NL is kinda on the high side...it would likely rise going to the AL so I can't say I am completely sold on this guy yet.
-
It sounds like they are over-valuing what they can get for him. I am guessing he will get moved something this offseason though.

LOL!!! Sad thing is how true it is, especially for PK and Maggs....

why has everyone givein up on koch and konerko

Ditto, sort of. I think PK had personal things going on this year (going by stuff posted here) that would stress most out. I do think he will be back to career or better numbers this up coming season, but Kenny gave him WAY too much money, and this is coming from a huge PK fan. I didn't understand the contract then especially when PK didn't seem to be looking for big money (repeated quotes in the media), unless he was saying one thing to the fans and one thing to KW, which I don't buy. I don't buy that because he seemed truly happy to finally have someplace to play full time baseball, which he didn't have the last two locations he was at, but then again, what do I know? -
My dad still has a thick brogue all these years later. Alas, I can't hear it all because I've heard it all my life. The only time I can really hear it is after he's been hanging with friends and family from the 'old country.' It's actually really funny because I have to play the role of translator to my friends, Brian and sometimes store clerks.

You guys are making me fiend for some hockey. With the house stuff we are doing, we haven't gotten to Cincy, Peoria or Allstate Arena for some hockey action. Typically by this point we would have seen at least 5-7 games live.... -
Everytime my dad looked into citizenship here, he got seriously ill (almost died the last time) so he has been leary about looking into it again. My godfather (my dad's older brother) is his only immediate family here and he became a citizen 20 or 30 years ago. My dad had to wait 6 years to get here (he started the process when he was about 16) and once he was here he was almost refused because his uncle didn't show up at the airport - luckily his other uncle picked him up and took over sponsoring him so he could stay. He met my mom the first night he was here and married 3 years later.

I like that trade. PK with one of my favorite NL teams (even if they haven't been the best in recent times) and the Sox improving with the trade.

Born here, but I have dual citizenship with Ireland (my dad came here when he was 22). My mom is Polish - her dad's family is from the Highlands in Galacia and my gramma's family is from a villiage near Warsaw.

Brian finally got to see it the other day and he was dying with laughter - it was the one where Brian the dog was hanging out with an older lady trying to get her to go out of her house and when she does, she gets hit by a truck.

If messing up an order gets you run over, the manager of the McDonald's by me is lucky he is still alive...they used to routinely screw up orders (Brian would go there quite often before he hired a cook (me) ).

Does this mean you are saying that you are Russian by birth?

Even when he came out of retirement he was a bit of a goon - it was hysterical watching this guy that was easily 10-12 yrs older and easily 6 inches shorter than the rest of the players going head to head physically. -

Couldn't tell ya! I don't follow the Hawks much, but it seems every other day lately that I've been reading about a Hawk going under the knife. Injuries seem to come in clumps in hockey though. I still remember 2 years ago, the Cincinatti Cyclones (were IHL, now they are ECHL) didn't even have enough men to fill 2 lines because of injuries and the AHL affliate calling up players and somehow they made it to the playoffs - Don Biggs coming back really helped them. He was a kick ass little player. -
It's a stupid rule. This is HS where girls have gone/are going through puberty and advil will be needed. This is another one of those rules that are too broad and idiotic.

I knew it was one of those admiral teams! (PS to Hawk fans - I didn't mean that as a dis, just that it doesn't seem to be much of anyone left.) -

Are they going to be putting an AHL team on the ice now? (Aren't the Admirals their affliate - not the Milwaukee Admirals, the other ones...) -
It's days like these when I wish I was back in design work. I gave some incorrect info over the phone and have no recourse because the guy didn't give me his name or number. THIS SUCKS!!!!!! I hate feeling this tense...if I lose my job, I lose it. I can still find work as a cashier...
-
No, you are not the only one. It seems like in the last 3, or so, years (maybe more) trades that seem like they should be decent or even cut work against the Sox for one reason or another.

I bought the Wembley concert DVD released this summer and it kills that I never had the opportunity to see a Queen concert in person.

It's one team that I don't mind PK being traded to, but we really need to get something good in return.
