  1. I don't think that's the question to ask. I think the question to ask is....what in the f*** is the ESPN crew thinking?
  2. KC's record is a fluke...because they might have the worst pitching in the AL outside of tampa..they are pitching way ovwer their heads....but not too many people are questioning the royals offense...beltran ,randa, ibanez , harvey , and that other guy that absolutely kills us...they have a solid offense I'll agree that KC's offense is good...and IMO, the second best in the AL Central....but it is still nothing compared to Oakland or New York.....or for that matter, even Boston, Seattle, and Anaheim. Anyone will agree that Mike Sweeney's a helluva hitter. Ibanez and Beltran are both good. Randa is not a great hitter...hell, he isn't even a good hitter...but he does a lot of things right. And Harvey has a bright future.....but he's still a rookie. The other guy that kills us....Berroa....or is it Mayne? Maybe Michael Tucker? There seem to be a few guys on that team who hit the ball hard against us. I was happy to see their bullpen get lit up. Went into the 9th with a 9-4 lead....and lost the game. LMAO
  3. Hey now, not all Twins fans are bad.....my dad and brother are Twins fans....and they don't worship dogs that eat their own s*** either. Some Twins fans are terrible though....worse than some Cub fans IMO. Atleast Cub fans quit after June....most of the time anyways.
  4. How about we let him face a real powerhouse of an offensive team before we actually believe what we see? Detroit's offense is absolutely f***ing awful....KC is a fluke....and Minny's offense is quite pitiful at the moment as well. I wanna see how he does against a team like the A's or the Yankees....a team that plays Earl Weaver ball....like us. Hell, even the Angels, M's, or Red Sox would be suitable. No one in our division aside from us is a powerhouse offense. I'm obviously happy by the results...but if he can hold a team like the A's or Yanks to 3 or 4 runs....then I'll believe.
  5. He came up in 2000....when he was 20. To make a comparison....many are saying...and many are agreeing...that the Tigers pitcher Jeremy Bonderman was brought up waaaaay to early....I'm one of the many who agrees. The way it looks....Bonderman will need atleast 3-5 years to develop at the majors...or atleast quite a while. Garland's IS in his 4th year of work at the major league level....but folks, chill out. He's still 23....how old was Kip when we dealt him - 24 or 25? Kipper broke out when he was at that age with Pittsburgh this past season. I prefer waiting to see what the hell happens....instead of making a premature evaluation. Baggs....I like Garland as a dominant pitcher because of his sinker...it is a pretty damn good sinker. And another crafty righty....how about Rick Reed? He's got nothing on his pitches....no killer curve, a high 80s fastball....yet he still won 15 games last year and had an ERA below 4.00.
  6. Wasn't there a d-lineman for the Broncos....I'm thinking Neil Smith or someone like that....who was dyslexic...and he wrote a book or something? That's pretty incredible to be dyslexic and to write a book. And Steve Schott's an asshole. That's all I gotta say.
  7. What would have made it 4 out of 4?
  8. I still vote for Ken Harrelson as manager
  9. Today was great....Sox win, Twins lose, Cubs lose, hottest team in the AL Central loses(in a very disappointing fashion), and a no-hitter is thrown. And the Sox are starting to show signs of life as well. We need life for the next 12 games. They are gonna be huge. Best case scenario....we win 8 of these next games. And the worst....we need to get .500 in these series. Show these teams who not to mess with. I also thought this past game was huge....not only in setting the tone for the Twins-Sox season series for the year in seeing who would win first....but also because I wanted to see how we would react after yesterday's incident. We apparently responded.
  10. glover is gonna close??...oh cmon..he's not going from mop up man to closer no matter how well he pitches... its obvious who is gonna close if koch goes down flash will close so marte can keep his set up job...marte will get a few opportunities here and there when we face some lefties in the 9th... flash is a proven closer that has saved 40 games before...glover?? Agreed. It's also a decision, no matter Flash's history of media problems or what not, that I agree with. He just has to know that he is closing until Koch gets back....and not much more after that.
  11. An ump should NEVER owe a team anything. You don't try to even up the calls. You call it as you see it. Some games will end up in favor of one team. We didn't deserve it....but we were lucky enough to get it. It put the game out of reach more Minny....and that's the important thing.
  12. It said "More Comiskey Violence" ? It's bad enough that they give you a misleading headline....there was NO violence in this most recent event. Garland, Hawkins, and Rios were all tossed out of the game.....but I don't remember there being any punches thrown. A coach got knocked down....and that's about it. It gets even worse when they get the name of your ballpark wrong. :fyou ESPN
  13. Agreed. I'm still pissed as hell about the fact that we got our asses beat the first time around. I think that's what KC is gonna do all year long....beat teams the first time they play them...and then get beat, or the games will be a little closer atleast, the second time around. The first time we played them....we got swept. The second time we played them....we won 2 of 3...and are responsible for half of their losses. I hope we aren't responsible for half of their losses come September.
  14. Hawk was laughing his ass off too. Hell, Hawk was laughing his ass off a lot tonight. Except for when Garland got ejected(which was BS), he was laughing at a lot of things. I know he laughed at Fetters's windup....and he was laughing at Crede....and I think I'm missing a thing or two as well. I still can't believe how terrible he looked on that swing. I don't think that qualifies as a swing. I don't know what the hell he was doing or what he was even trying to do.
  15. baggs...why bother asking when you already know the answer? Of course he won't....we have Mr. Tinker as our manager. Konerko, Lee, and Maggs will all be playing tomorrow...and only Maggs and Lee deserve to be playing. We'll see Konerko out there going 1-4 or maybe 1-5....hell, maybe he'll put up a donut...and Dauber will warm the bench. Right now....I really hope we go on about a 6 game losing streak....and that we lose like 10 of our next 12. As hard as it would be on us....it would hopefully get JM fired and then we could use Wally....or hell, why not use Hawk? He seems to know the players well enough...and he wants this team to win. I think he's smart enough to do the job right. He wasn't much of a GM...but I think he'd be a different manager. It'd atleast be worth a shot.....and he'd be better than Jerry.
  16. You can't say things didn't go our way though. Minny hung in there and battled it out....and two very little things helped us win this game. First of all....Crede's ducksnort into RF. How in the blue-hell did that ball fall in? He just stuck his bat out and the ball hit the ground....simply amazing. He looks real s***ty up there are the plate right now. Next....in the 8th or whenever it was that Maggs hit his second homer....Thomas had a 2-2 count....and he went around...and it was quite obvious. Everyone on the field knew it....except the first base ump. Thomas walked on the next pitch....and the next batter....Maggs stepped up and knocked one out. I think there were two outs at the time...though I'm not sure. We played better....but had we been in Minny's shoes and Minny been in our shoes this game....we woulda lost about 12-2....or something close to that. Heather...I'm happy for Carlos. Helping one or two of my fantasy teams. I don't think he'll be an all-star for us....he'll have to keep this s*** up for a while.
  17. I think it's just the first few rounds in the NBA playoffs....once you get to the semi-finals and the finals....then the intensity increases. And it can be a lot of fun watching series's like the LA-Sacremento series last year.....except when the refs OBVIOUSLY are favoring one side. No coincidence that the same team that was getting favored last year has already been favored this year(and they even lost that game). f***ing LA....I can't stand them. I hope the T'Wolves knock 'em around a little more....and eliminate them in LA....man, that'd be sweet.
  18. Probably....and the umps won't toss whoever it is.
  19. Goddamn....that is bulls***. Not only because Jon got tossed without being warned....but because there was no cause for us to hit them. If Garland is tossed....Lohse should have been tossed as well....and there was more reason for Lohse to be tossed as well. He gives up a homer to Maggs....and then hits him in the ass Maggs's next time up. WTF is up with that s***? I'm happy to see Mientkiewicz to get hit again by our pitchers...that's the second time he's been hit this series. He'll probably get thrown at again tomorrow. I also wouldn't be surprised to see that cocky s***-face Pierzynski have one land in his ribs. That asshat hits his 14th career homer or something like that....and he's staring at the ball like he's Bonds. Unless your name is Bonds or Sosa....and in some cases, not even Sosa....you can't showboat.
  20. I like watching all playoffs....but the NHL, NFL, and MLB playoffs are all pretty close IMO. Not the NBA playoffs though....not sure what it is. Just not a big NBA guy.

    Grossman!

baggs....Grossman's a stud. He's got a good arm, and he does some good things. His last year with Spurrier there, when he had some decent talent around him, he was very, very good. He didn't have a good O-line this year....I know that. Kiper was talking about that constantly.....saying how s***ty the O-line was, and then how he had a new system implimented and all that. When Kordell is done being a Chicago Bear....it will be Grossman's turn. Anyways....how about the Bills taking McGahee? Holy s***....when he got his knee messed up....I thought he was done. All I can do is hope that he is not done.....because if he is, the Bills are in some deep s***. I have a hard time understanding why teams insisting on drafting to strengths instead of weaknesses. If the bears and bills wanted these players to draft, why are they signing veterans in the same positions? I mean s*** draft to your weakness. I have no idea why the Bills are drafting McGahee....I assume because he's too good a talent to let pass by(in comparison....it's kind of like the Sox signing Daubach like they did....too good a talent to let get by for that cheap. We sure as hell didn't need him....but he's a helluva player...so why not?). In the Bears case....they will need a QB for the future. Stewart is not the QB for the future....only the QB for the next 2 years(if that even). McGahee will probably be playing in 04 or 05. Henry will be gone by then....most likely traded for a draft pick(like Price was). The Bills may have also not drafted a D-lineman(their main weakness) because of the fact that D-line men have been drafted up the butt in the first 22 selections....and McGahee seemed to be a better pick.
  22. I'm talking about talent, not what we get. In 2000....we had a few almost-has beens or one-hit wonders....Mike Sirotka had a huge year....hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors since. Jim Parque had a huge year...he's had an ERA of about 7.50 or so since 2000. Cal Eldred was good for half a year....then got injured....got "healthy"...and got injured again. James Baldwin...had a killer year.....and has done very, very little since then....and is now in the KC minor league system. Both Kipper and Jon were s***ty. The two reasons we were so successful in 2000 was a great bullpen and timely hitting. This year's bullpen could be just as good, if not better than the 2000 bullpen....and if we can get some timely hitting....we'd be a damn good team. 2000 was something special...this year could be special too. I do realize that this team is not looking good right now....but, this is the time to jump up in the standings. The Royals will come down to earth eventually...and the Twins are down, or atleast, were down until last night. I also realize that a manager change me be necessary. As I said above....I'm talking strictly about talent....and not what we get on the field. Last year, we had the more talented team between us and Minnesota....but they kicked the s*** out of us because we underachieved and they overachieved...or atleast did what they needed to do. This year....we have one of the more talented teams in the majors....but we've gotten a very poor product thus far. If this team can gel and click and what not else they need to do....they can win a lot of games. They haven't gelled yet...and they may not. We'll just have to see.
  23. HSC....I was referring to Bmr....who's being a huge dickhead right now
  24. This team has way more talent than the 2000 team. The main difference between the two teams is the fact that the 2000 team clicked....and this team hasn't....so far. If this team clicks....they'll win a lot of games. I think they can and will win 95-100. Why do you have a problem with that?
