  1. This is a team that is deep enough to go deep into the postseason. We are a powerhouse....yet, rarely strike out. In the postseason....that will work for us, rather than against us....assuming we get there first. I like how deep our bullpen is, and how good our offense is. We have a very strong 1-2 punch....but I'd like to see someone else step up and play a huge role. Thus far....Loaiza has done a damn good job of that. Let's hope it continues throughtout the year. I personally believe Stewart needs a little more seasoning....but has pitched very well. He could be the type of lefty out of the pen that Buehrle was in 2000. Garland will get his s*** together come May....and Wright will hopefully do more than tease us with his possible greatness that he flashed at the end of last year. That's a lot of hoping....almost too much. Getting to the playoffs is key though....you can't win the World Series if you don't make the playoffs.
  2. Personally....the only lineup I care about is the one that is on the field this year.
  3. If a trade for a good #3 came up....say....hypothetically, Kerry Wood....I'd trade Garland. The guy has to be a stud pitcher(and obviously, I'd package some other players along with him). One guy I wouldn't mind having is Brian Lawrence in San Diego. He's a pretty damn good pitcher. I'd most definately give them Garland for Lawrence....because then, if Garland did become a big-time real good pitcher....we might have to face him once every 3 years...if that even. We'd have to see him in the World Series otherwise. That trade would not comeback and bite us in the ass. A trade to an NL team is very low risk....IMO....because they rarely do bite you in the ass like a trade to an AL team does. Unless of course you are the Indians and you trade Bartolo Colon to the Expos and then they trade him to the White Sox....and they get to ram him down your throat everyday of the f***ing year. HAHA CLEVELAND!!!
  4. That's the stuff I figured....but I wasn't positive. I'd just get a PS2....but I don't have the money to do so. I'm thinking about working out at the golf course around here...that'd be pretty fun and pretty easy.

    The Simpsons

Beavis and ButtHead were money. Too bad Mike Judge felt compelled to give us "King of the Hill" at the expense of B&B. Agreed. And though King of the Hill is a decent show....it is NOTHING compared to Beavis and Butthead.
  6. I bet people do that for him. Someone's in the back room working his ass off to come up with these numbers, but is too ugly, too shy, or has a bad voice, and has Peter Gammons use the numbers. I just don't like Peter Gammons....in fact, I find it hard to like a lot of people on ESPN. And then when someone finally says something nice about the Sox....what the hell do you think would happen? We'd suck-ass. Maybe they should just show Sox highlights and not talk about them....that'd make me feel better.
  7. Anything less than 2 out of 3 from either team..... especially with the A's and Seattle afterwards..... and JM should join the ranks of the unemployed while the Sox could still salvage the season. It won't happen (firing JM) but it should. It should have happened last year....when he lost control of the team. Right now....we are winning based pretty much on the talent of this team. If Loaiza cools off in May like he has in the past....we might be in for yet another disappointment, much like last year. Yes, Loaiza's success is going to be very much needed for the Sox to contend for a playoff spot. He said recently that this is the first time in years that he's 100% healthy, so I don't expect him to fall off the map like he's done in previous seasons. I know he'll cool down some, but as long as he can keep his ERA under 4.00, he'll be a valuable asset to this team. Hell, if he can keep his ERA like right around 4.00....I'll be happy. Cal Eldred helped the White Sox win the division in 2000 by winning 10 games and only losing 2....with an ERA of about 4.50. Wins are the most important stat....it shows you can keep your team in the game...or if given a lead, you can hold the lead. It wouldn't make a difference to me in the slightest if a guy gave up 8 runs and the Sox won 9-8 compared to a guy giving up no runs and the Sox winning 9-0. The win is the important thing....not low ERAs.
  8. Brando....after ripping my post apart...I can answer one thign You asked who would take Konerko off our hands....a 1Bman with little range either way....yadda yadda yadda.....and I can tell you a team that could do that for us. How about the Baltimore Orioles? Angelos has given Flanagan and the GMing crew up there the green-light to trade for Griffey Jr....even if it means they had to pay the remaining $80 mill or so on his contract. $16 mill or so is nothing compared to what is guaranteed for Griffey. They'd take him. Hell....they'd probably take both Konerko and Lee....but I don't think they have enough talent wise to get Lee. Not without hurting what they are trying to improve anyways...that being their offense. I mean....I'd take Lopez and Julio....but I'm not so sure they'd like that deal.
  9. Garland's first start of the year was bad....but he didn't have any help defensively either. And I said it somewhere else....Garland was s***ty in April last year too. He had an ERA of about 8.00. He then had his ERA under 4.00 for every month except July....where the same thing happened that happened to him in April. I think he'll be fine. He may not look good right now...but he didn't look good this time last year either.

  11. agghhhhhh...... we had to get rid of valentine for his stupid ass didnt we..........geez us................ :finger :finger :finger :finger botch........ I think it's time to let Marte have the closing role. Botch has just sucked Koch!!! (I love puns.) CWSOX45 I like puns too....but I'd have Gordon close, not Marte. Marte's a lefty...and he's awesome in the 7th and 8th(not to say he's not awesome in the 9th either)....but he's needed more in those situations. IMO....if 3 big lefties were coming up in the 9th....I wouldn't be a dipship and send Gordon out to the mound. I'd send Marte up. But just the same....if there are 3 righties coming up....I'm not gonna send Damaso out there.....even if they pinch hit one or two of the righties with LH hitters...I'm still going with Gordon. Both are good enough pitchers that they can get a guy out from either side of the plate. Let's just hope that Koch gets his fastball up there to 98 or so real f***in quick. I don't want him to throw 94 or 95 with this curve-ball s***. I want Koch to throw the ball real f***ing hard....that's what we brought him here to do, isn't it? Not f*** around with a curveball or slider.
  12. I'm hoping we go 6-0, Minny goes 3-3, and KC finally f***ing grabs KC at the top and throws their asses down....and they go 0-6. Would be a perfect week....literally.
  13. And that's why you don't pick up 38 year old control pitchers....look what happened to Maddux.
  14. God I hope not. If he is, there is no room on the team for him. CWSOX45 Anybody on the Mets you guys want?
  15. There are these auctions on there involving like getting PS2's for $25 and s*** like that....and all you have to do is buy the info. How the hell would you get a PS2 for $25 in the first place? If you wanna make any profit at all, you'd have to sell it for more than that....wouldn't you? And next....there is this guy that is apparently selling info or something like that on how you can get PS2's and XBox's for free. Now how the hell do you do that? He also has an invoice of one of the purchases itself. I am pretty sure this stuff actually works(because the users selling the info are getting positive feedback for it)....but I wanna know how. It's gotten me curious. Anybody got the slightest clue?

    Illini job

What about Tom Crean from Marquette? Will Illinois get him now?
  17. The same Harold Reynolds that wants to contract one of the original teams that has a ton of history in the Detroit Tigers? How about no. I guess it's hard to be a big-time baseball know-it-all like that. Baseball is the one game where, most of the time, you fail more than you succeed, and you look like an idiot in what you are saying more times than not.
  18. I personally don't think Thomas would have to go. After this year....we hopefully resign Colon for 3 years....$30 mill, tops. If he wants more, he can get the hell out of here. We sign MB to a 4-year deal worth about $12 mill. Get Thomas for $7 mill or so.....that in itself is only adding about $6 mill. We get rid of Konerko and Lee....which would probably free up about $14 mill....and that's like $8 mill we can spend. Maggs goes from $9 mill to $14 mill next year....so that's $3 mill we can spend...and hopefully, Jose gives us that discount and we get him for about $3 mill a year. We break even then....and after adding a few more salaries....we are at maybe $60-65 mill...tops, without making any additions. If this team does well in the postseason....I see no reason why we couldn't add Vlad.....especially considering we are hosting the All-Star game....except for the fact that JR won't spend money. If he opened his eyes and realized that adding a big name FA like that will help bring in fans....like what happened when we brought in Belle(attendance increased by 200,000....and the Sox were worse in 97 than in 96)....he'd be bringing in money....and we'd be winning. It's a win-win situation.....even if the Sox suck. And with a 1-2 punch of Colon and Buehrle, and an OF of Vlad, Borchard, and Maggs....I don't see how this team could fail. We'd be a poor man's Yankees....or we could be, anyways.

    NFL Draft

I'd still take Terrell Suggs....he might be the sleeper pick this year. If he can realize what brought his stock down and lose that weight....and get his 40 down to 4.6 or 4.7. He seems like a guy that has a lot of self-discipline and a great work ethic. If a DE gets picked before him...that guy could end up like whoever that Blair guy was that the Jets drafted the same year that Emmitt was drafted by the Cowboys.

    The Simpsons

Damn....I forgot about South Park. I love that show. I'd rank Family Guy right up there as well....behind Simpsons and South Park. And what did everyone think of the classic Beavis and Butthead? I personally felt those two were so damn stupid....it was funny.
  21. Then simply don't think about it. And if you read something that disturbs you(apparently, the thing that that guy did in my story did disturb you in that way) then don't form a mental picture. Think about something you like....hot chicks almost naked with White Sox stuff on....and then imagine them stripping that s*** off.
  22. I could say something about the fact that two of them have been meaningless....but I won't get into that argument. It's not important.
  23. Eh i don't mind it that much, lighten up the clubhouse...it was a joke last year. He's not really getting on him...if he was striking out instead of walking, he probly wouldn't say anything i'm sure he's not that stupid. Exactly my feelings.
  24. I think you will see salaries decline in the next few years, but it all depends who VG's agent is. Maggs will be a 14 Mill player next year and I am expecting V. to be around that figure but in a multi year deal. He is one of the few players in the game who is worth the money and IMO the only weakness in his game is his eye, but he is still very young and still improving every year. Yankees will get him though. That'd be a killer OF.....Maggs, Borchard, Guerrero from LF to RF....and in reality, if need be, all 3 of them could play anywhere in the OF. Guerrero is also a terrible defensive player....he has no leather. He has a cannon for an arm....but makes a lot of errors....and it's not always him being overaggressive either. He's SamME-bad in RF.....only he can hit the cutoff man....if he needs to. That OF could hit 120-140 bombs in the future while stealing 60 bases and driving in 350-400....and we could put them anywhere....with Maggs being the only one that wouldn't ever really play CF. That would also potentially strengthen the bench as well....we could go for either a backup OFer that has very good range, or one that can hit the ball very well....and we wouldn't have to have a guy that can play all 3 positions and that is it. We could have 2 Brian Daubach's....or, for comparison, 2 Jeff Liefer's. I'd like it....and I'd also like to see Jose as a White Sox the rest of his career. IMO, he's that good. And when he retires....assuming we still had DJ and he has panned out into a great player....he could take over SS.
