OK, I'd like some clarification on this whole DSC deal...just a little technicality. Does Thomas have UNTIL December 7th to reach a deal with another team(meaning he has to sign before this), or is December 7th the deadline(his last day to sign)?
-
Nor the word strikeout Jason....... I'd rather have a guy who doesn't walk, then a guy who strikes out all the time. You can teach walks...... plate protection is another story. *cough* Sammy Sosa *cough cough*

Depends on Reynolds...is this going to be his first year from surgery or his second? If it is his second, I'd say pick him up...if not, I wouldn't want him...not unless we sign him to atleast a 2-year deal with the plan on rebuilding this year(yet again...geesus tits when are we going to stop rebuilding? It's starting to piss me off). I read that Daal declined the contract...'spose the Sox will offer him another?
-
The Sox are interested in Byrd? I haven't seen anything on that. He would be a decent pickup, if he continues the success he had last year. Moyer is a stud too...can't even throw it 90 MPH, but is a stud all the same.

The Bills have given up the most points in the NFL...317. That's 5 more than the Chiefs and 6 more than the Lions. Defense they do need...badly. They just signed Marcus Jones, who I believe was cut by the Bucs after he was injured and out for the year. He is rehabilitating and will be ready for next year's training camps. That's a start. Most of this year's draft will probably be used for defense...they really don't need any CB's as Clements, Winfield and Watson are all pretty good. I haven't seen anyone that really catches my eye in college football...then again, I'm not a big college football fan. Someone from Oklahoma has to be a senior that plays on their line that is good...I guess that's why I don't make the draft picks. I am just thinking that maybe they are trying to hard to be like the Patriots...the Bills are not a little play, get down the field step by step kind of offense. With Moulds and Price as their wideouts, they have got to do more long yardage passes. Hell, I even developed a good play that would work regularaly... Have 4 wideouts, Moulds and Price at the line, Reed and Centers/Rimersma as the other receiver. Send Moulds and Price down on fly patterns, and have Reed and Centers/Rimersma do a crossing pattern in the middle of the field. Henry can be in the backfield either blocking or setting up for a screen. This will either: A) draw double coverage for Moulds and Price, creating a mismatch on Reed and Centers/Rimersma B) draw man to man coverage on Moulds and/or Price, with that being an obvious mismatch C) Give Travis Henry plenty of room to run for a screen. I am just wondering why they do not do this type of play more often. Bledsoe has the capability to make any of these throws and it would make the Bills a big time threat, with or without a good defense.

Not unless they think Liefer can be a beast...cuz I sure as hell ain't trading Maggs...not unless we get Jason Schmidt and Kirk Reuter as well. A three team deal...we give the Marlins Lee and Corwin Malone and the Giants Mario Valenzuela...the fins give the Giants Kevin Millar...and we get Russ Ortiz. How's that?

Jason, as I said, I didn't say Wright was going to get any better as a pitcher...I said his consistency was going to improve. I look at getting better as a pitcher meaning going from a consistent pitcher with a 4.50 ERA to a consistent pitcher with a 3.50 ERA, or an inconsistent pitcher with a 4.50 ERA to an inconsistent pitcher with a 3.50 ERA. Look at Jason Schmidt. He is pretty inconsistent, but is still damn good. I think Wright will become a more consistent pitcher as his career lengthens...I think his ERA will drop not because he becomes a better pitcher but rather because his consistency improves...catch my drift? I think he will go from his 5.18 ERA this year to about a 4.32 or so ERA next year with an increase of quality starts...unofficially, he had 18 QS(unofficially because I counted them ). I would expect that number to increase to about 22 or 23 or maybe even 25 next year...that means he had 7 or 8 bad outings instead of the 14 or 15 he had this year. That would be atleast enough to make his ERA that low. Not better, more consistent. Now Garland...I see a good future for him. He will get both more consistent and become a better pitcher. I think he can have a low 3.00 ERA or even an ERA below 3.00 as he matures. He will become one hell of a pitcher as he grows older. Remember, he had a 12-12 record this past year with a 4.58 ERA at the young age of 22. Not only that, but Garland also had a number of stretches where he would be really hot and then he'd be cold for about a month, and then he'd have another hot stretch, one right at the end of the year. Kip Wells is going to be 26 this April...and Garland is 3 years younger than him, and I believe that Kipper is just now starting the prime of his career. Garland has 3 years to get there and improve over that time....and I think he will be butte(not butter like Parque, but you get the picture). I sure hope to hell you understand what I mean, because I just did a lot of explaining and rambling on and kind of ran away from the point at the end.

First of all, I'd like to state that I like the Bears, but am not a huge fan of their's...I don't not like them but as I said, I'm not a huge fan. I am a Bills fan, believe it or not, and I'm wondering how the hell a team can go from ripping the s*** out of the NFL 3 straight weeks to getting the s*** ripped out of you 3 straight weeks. Maybe it's because Gregg Williams is a dips*** of a coach, maybe it's something else....I think the offense just needs to get its s*** together. I can understand being a fan of a couple different teams though...when your team is doing s***ty, say for instance last year with the Bills and you don't like a front office move they made(I still can't f***ing believe they got rid of Flutie of Rob "I get hurt every-f***ing-day even if it is a broken finger nail or a scrape on the knee that would be better if my mom just kissed it" Johnson. And now neither are in the system, as Johnson was let go and is now the 3RD STRING QB on Tampa Bay, behind SHAUN KING on the depth chart. And the Bills chose him over Flutie. As I was saying previously though, last year I really didn't follow them all that heavily mainly because I knew they were going to suck. It doesn't mean that I didn't follow them at all...I was happy when they won, especially when they beat the Jets(and they lost to them f***ing twice this year), but I didn't get cracked up when they lost. I'm pissed as hell about this year because they had a great team and should be going to the playoffs, but are instead going to be sitting on their asses watching New England and Miami get the s*** beat out of them in the playoffs(sorry cw)because I think they are both going to be overmatched by Oakland, Denver, Pittsburgh and maybe even Tennesee...and maybe one of Miami and New England may not make it because San Diego is pretty damn good too. In conclusion, Buffalo could have been good this year, but were s***ty. And theoldroman(aka Psycho), if you want to jump ship from one s***ty team to another(and both the Bills and Bears were s***ty this year), jump to the Bills...or don't jump at all. Atleast the Bills and Bears will be good next year. The Bears just need to get a good QB(and I'm still laughin' my ass off as the Bills got Bledsoe instead of Chicago...sorry everybody). I suggest that the Bears intentionally try to lose the rest of their games for the rest of the season so they can get a high draft pick...that way they can get a good QB. The Bears got a lot of good talent...just not a good QB. The QB is the heart and soul of the team. Just look at my Bills...they had the same personell last year(except London Fletcher and Josh Reed, but they aren't huge factors), but they got a better, a much better QB in Bledsoe, and look at the success they've had(though it has been limited over the past couple weeks). A Byron Leftwich would be great...from what I've seen, he's Daunte Culpepper with a brain. Daunte has tremendous talent, but is just stupid...he makes stupid decisions. Leftwich is better than that. Ken Dorsey is also going to be drafted, and whether or not he is very talented, he obviously has had success, and he's about to win his 2nd straight national championship. Carson Palmer, Kliff Kingsbury, etc. I think A-Train suffered a little sophomore jinx this year and he'll be back and great next year. I'm looking forward to both the Bills and Bears next year, though the Bills more of course, as I am a bigger fan of them.

By great rookie season, you are hoping it being 2003, right?
-
We will get good pitching from Daal, no doubt, but I am not sure he will teach the youngsters much of anything. Wright is about as good as he will get right(no pun) now, he will only gain consistency. Garland is learning how to pitch basically on his own, or if not on his own, with the help of Cooper. Buehrle knows everything he needs to know, or atleast enough to make him a great pitcher, Rauch already knows how to pitch as does Ritchie. That would be a decent rotation right there(keyword being decent) even without Daal. I'm not sure how much better he can make it with his knowledge...and I wouldn't go to him about mechanics. He has got the most f***ed up windup since Luis Tiant.

Not only is he a battler that goes deep, but he can be used out of the bullpen....he is, what you would call, versatile. I'm thinking Lilly in Oak-town would cost next to frickin nothin. They already got Zito and Mulder with Rincon in the bullpen, plus they gotta have another lefty somewhere along the line. If we got Harang from them, we may as well get Lilly in the process, though I'm not a supporter of getting Harang....Dan Wright only slightly better if you ask me. Lilly is a cheaper version of Daal. My only beef with Lilly is that he uses all arm when he pitches. That is s***ty...it will f*** up his arm badly over time. That was a big reason why he spent a ton of time on the DL this year...like 2 months or so(I would know cuz I had the bastard in one or two of my fantasy leagues). Daal, Lilly...s***, go out and sign Jamie Moyer for christ's sake...we were interested in him. Sure he's older than dirt, but he's a pretty good pitcher.

well we can guess which one takes cf next season.......

That's Ray-Ray's brother, right? Atleast we wouldn't be Durham-less for long if he did. -
You don't think he's available at all? We'd have to be able to see if he'd sign an extension with us before we made the deal(if we made the deal), but I wouldn't mind trading block value for him....one stud prospect may be worth it...maybe not too. I'm not quite certain.

Speaking of co-owners, does anyone know Bill Gates's number?
-
We aren't going to make a deal with the Cubs....the last two deals have come out very lobsided...Bell for Sosa was lobsided...Bell played one in a half years with us and then retired and Sosa has become a superstar(though Bell still won more divisions with the Sox than Sosa has with the Cubs...we always have that), and Garland for Karchner was favored heavily for us...we got Garland, who is going to be a great pitcher as he will probably be a pitcher with a low 3.00 ERA sometime in the future, and Karchner is out of baseball, or atleast playing somewhere other than the major leagues. If the offer was right, maybe....I personally don't see it happening though.

Redman - good pitcher, but I wouldn't consider EXCEPT for the fact that he came up with Minny. If we got him and he torched the Twinkies somewhere along the line in a White Sox uniform, I would be in heaven. It would be so damn fun to see the Twins lose at the hands of Mark Redman in a White Sox uniform. Didn't Redman outduel Zito earlier in the year? If we could get him for a couple minor leaguers, I wouldn't mind it...maybe one A pitcher and then a different one....maybe Porzio(although Porzio isn't a minor leaguer) or Corey Lee...and then maybe a meciocre minor league starter. As for Harang....is KW too f***in brainless to realize that what we'd get in Harang is a slightly better version of Dan Wright? Harang is a good pitcher, but I would have wanted to get someone better than just him...I would rather have him be a "throw-in" type....if we could have gotten Lidle it would have been much better. What we need is Colon or Vazquez - a proven pitcher that could become a 20 game winner for us, not some pitcher that just came out of the minors. I hope KW pulls his head out of his ass and gets someone good that has proven he is a stud pitcher.

When was this announcement made?

I'm not sure how a hip disorder could be linked to foot pain, but I'm not a doctor, so what the hell do I know, right? lol

I believe we resigned MJ as a result of Billy Beane. He told KW he was interested in MJ for Lidle or what not, so KW signed him so he was signed "when" he went to Oakland. Lidle was then sent to Toronto. We take on $200,000 more than we were going to go into next season with. Big f***ing deal. Maybe we'll get lucky and trade him. He does play pretty good defense, but that's about it... MJ's offense makes me wanna :puke

Now if you were in there, I wonder why you wouldn't want to leave.....
-
If we get Colon the first thing we should do is sign him to a contract...atleast 2 years, because then he will be 31 or 32 at the end of his contract. If he produces well up to that point, sign him to a longer deal, but not too long...maybe around 5 years. It would be sweet as f***ing hell to see Colon beat the s*** out of the Twins and Indians in a White Sox uniform. I hope we get him.

Gibbons can play in the outfield, so that leaves Segui and Conine....Conine made $3.5 million last year and Segui made $7 million...both will probably have their salaries increase next year, which means that they would probably have to dump one off somewhere before they would sign Frank, because they won't want $4,000,000 or $7,500,000 on their bench, and then Frank has to OK the deal...he probably won't sign for $7 or $8 million a year when he will get more here and he likes it here as well(as I believe he has said). The only thing that would motivate him to leave is KW's communist clubhouse, and the fact that he could reboot his career in Baltimore, making Frank Thomas become a household name again. The thing I still don't understand is why they would go with Lee over Thomas, when in reality Thomas had a year better than Lee's...Thomas has proven he can hit 40 homers a year and drive in 120 or 130...Lee has not. Whatever the case, I hope Frank is happy in his home...wherever it may be. I just hope it is in Chicago...on the South Side...in a White Sox uniform.

Defense at 1B is pretty important...look at the 4 teams in the LCS's. Not one of those first basemen hit 20 homers. However, one thing they all did was play very good defensively. Spiezio, Mientkiewicz, Snow and Martinez are all very good defensive first basemen, and not as good hitters. And whether it means anything or not, the 1Bmen who hit the best in his respective series's team went onto the World Series...Speizio hit better than Mientkiewicz, and the Angels went on to(and won) the World Series. Snow hit better than Martinez, and the Giants won the NLCS. That was just a little tidbit. However, I really like Konerko....and for $7 million a year, he is priced right. He turns the 3-6-3 very well, picks balls well, and is a good power hitter, as well as a good overall hitter as well. The one thing I would like to see is him hit well for both halves of the season...if he could hit .320 with 20 homers and 60 RBI in both the first and second half of the year, he would be a very good 1Bmen....one of the league's best. Add Maggs in there and his incredible numbers, and if you can do that, then you will have quite possibly the best 1-2 punch of hitters in the buisness. Add a good hitting Thomas and a Borchard that is at the top of his game in 2 or 3 years, and we will have one of the top offenses in the league again, along with a top notch pitching staff and an incredibly good bullpen....guys, I gotta good feeling we will be celebrating a World Series in a couple years as long as dips*** KW doesn't mess it up
-
Lee is a hell of a player...but if we got Colon for him(along with others of course), and Lee put up huge numbers in Montreal, they would be willing to deal with us again, and Montreal is best known as the best minor league system in the majors, growing such players as RJ, Larry Walker, Marquis Grissom, Andres Galaragha, Vlad Guerrero, Jose Vidro, Javy Vazquez, Cliff Floyd, and to certain extents, Pedro and Moises Alou(yes, that bum on the north side...he was pretty good in Enron)....wouldn't it be a good deal to have them be willing to trade to us again, so one of these times we can rip them off royally? That has got to be KW's goal in all these s***ty trades...he'll rip these motherf***ers off like a bastard one of these times...maybe he'll get us Brian Giles for Corwin Malone and Josh Paul, guarenteeing that Malone is the next Tom Glavine and Paul the next Pudge(Pudge being Carlton Fisk, of course). And then he trades Carlos Lee to LA for Hideo Nomo...LA thinks they are getting the Carlos Lee that hit .261 with 26 bombs and 80-some RBI this year, but in reality, they are getting his brother, who plays for Bristol, one of the White Sox rookie leagues. And boy does KW feel cool... .....and he actually did a good job this time. " Dan Evans," he says. " "
