I like this guy already!
You know what's funny as hell? If you looked....just looked...at Koch and Wells...which do you think would get in more trouble with the police? Hmmmm....maybe Koch?

Russ Ortiz available
Folks, the thought of obtaining Ortiz with a direct trade to SF has been discussed on this board and we can't do it....Lee is a LFer, fulltime, unless he moved back to 3B or accepted a move to 1B...his arm is too frickin weak for RF and his range is too limited to play CF...it seems a certain San Francisco team has a certain LFer that is pretty good... Therefore, the only way a trade could be done is with a 3-way deal....maybe Lee and a minor league relief prospect to Toronto....Jose Cruz Jr to San Francisco....and Russ Ortiz to Chicago. However, I have heard a rumor that JP Ricciardi(or whatever the hell that guy's name is), the Blue Jays GM, showed interest in Ortiz as well....and who do you think he was looking to move? You got 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count.

Official Soxtalk.com: Rumor Mill!
Guys.....dependant on how much Paul Byrd puts on statistics...he may take a look and see that he didn't fare very well against the NL other than the Mets(5.1 IP 1 ER)....STL, 6 IP 5 ER, FLA, 4.1 IP, 8 ER, and then the Mets game...he may or may not take this into account...most likely not. But I thought I should atleast make it a point.

Another moronic Twins fan surfaces
About this Twins fan...he is just another victim that falls to looking at solely AAA, other than Honel, who was a #1 pick last year...if you asked him if he knew who Tim Hummel was, what do you suppose he'd say? "Let me go backtrolling for walleye, and then I'll get back to ya. How's that, eh?"

ill give kenny some credit here...(gulp)
Hey CubKilla...it is only your opinion that KW has weakened this team since he has gotten here? That is a fact, not anyone's opinion...the few key guys he has added have been very little moves...minor league moves....coincidence?

here's a little something to get the anger flowing
I forgot about Sele...the fact that he is a huge choker in the postseason and the fact that he wasn't even on the postseason roster was one of the reasons I forgot about him...but he ain't a bad #5 in the rotation...hell, he'd be our #2 or #3 and that's the truth too.

ill give kenny some credit here...(gulp)
Are you f***ing serious? Holy s***....all praise JR!

Starting pitching options
HSC...Just a hunch...KW is the one with the glasses, right?

Ray Durham signed with the San Francisco Giants
Oldroman, statistics are only half the game. Remember that....it is key in baseball.

hey jas or mario or someone please......
Didn't he have to pay child support and he couldn't afford it, or something of the type? I thought I read that somewhere...but I agree...I don't know how you could make that much money and then go broke. I sure hope that A-Rod doesn't go broke...I'd personally go up to him and slap him if he did.

here's a little something to get the anger flowing
I am not sure...was Fullmer a FA? If he was, they do have Shawn Wooten to take over as their full-time DH...he can also catch a little and play a little 1B, but they won't need either as they have gold-glove(or should be gold-glove...Speizio was frickin robbed of the gold glove this year by stupid as John Olerud) players at those positions...Wooten has the potential to hit .300 20 75 for them. That's decent, if you ask me. In other news, how the hell did Jamie Moyer get 3 more years? That boggles my mind....he's 40 years old and will be starting when he's 42-43? I think he may be in the bullpen by the end of his career.
-
Pat Borders
Well if we are talking about old, washed up catchers who were decent in their hey-day, why the hell shouldn't we consider Ron Karkovice?

here's a little something to get the anger flowing
Why would they want a starting outfielder? Anderson in LF is pretty good defensively and their DH is filled...his bat is too valuable to their offense to not have him in. Erstad is a gold glover in CF...why would they move him? And Salmon is pretty good too...he has a great arm...he's getting older, so he may be slowing down, but he's their best all around RFer right now...that is a move I don't understand....another starter I can understand, somewhat...they got Washburn, Ortiz, Appier, and Lackey and then they have Mickey Callaway and Scott Schowenweis as their other starters, though Schow looks to be staying in the bullpen...don't they have faith in their minor league starters? If that's the case, look for Callaway to be moved in a deal somewhere...that'd be my guess anyways.

What needs to happen for WS
Nothing compares to the Metrodome incident...it ain't baserunning, but man is that funny!

Thomas likely to stay with Sox? He is a Sox in 2003
I don't think so...maybe last year...what people don't realize is that most teams are not going to dish out the money that they did last year...a team may have signed him for that last year, but not this year...and teams are going to be skeptical of signing a 40-year old to a 3-year deal, don't you think? He'd be lucky to get a 2-year deal...I can't imagine him getting a 3-year deal...maybe a 2-year deal with an option of some type for the 3rd year....that'd be the best, IMO. At the most, he will sign for 2-years, $15 million with an option for the 3rd year...I don't give a s*** what he's asking for...he ain't getting that kind of money...makes me think his agent might be Scott Boras...anyone know?

Thomas likely to stay with Sox? He is a Sox in 2003
Not necessarily...say he declines his option for next year for $6 million...and then the Sox decline their's for $8 million...then he is an unrestricted free agent...and something tells me he won't be...if he sucks this year, he'll exercise his option...and if he is good this year and declines his option, the Sox will exercise their option...there is virtually no middle ground. Thomas will be a Sox player for a few years...atleast till the end of his contract, IMO. But yes, his old contract got thrown in JR's office fire place...but before that, it was used to light 3 victory cigars...one for Reinsdorf, one for Thomas and one for Tellum...and they seemed to have forgotton one for one poor lad's soul...I wonder who that could be? Maybe Ken Williams? Hmmm.....

hey jas or mario or someone please......
Atleast this one isn't as complicated as his last one...if he starts the all-star game in 2003, then he is guarenteed his old contract back, but he has to start. But if he is an all-star in 2003 and 2004, he gets his old $10 million back, the same thing that would have happened had he started the 2003 all-star game. Jeezus though...it's still kind of complicated. Maybe he thinks it makes him look smart...and he's single right? Maybe he thinks women will dig the smart and sexy look of him, along with all the money...who knows....then again, I'm not a guy, so I wouldn't know if he is sexy or not. HSC...HELP!!! lol

ill give kenny some credit here...(gulp)
Had KW been given the job of doing it, Thomas would be making $300,000 next year...maybe he'd give him a bonus instead and give him $350,000.

Chad Krueter?
I believe Tony LaRussa also said that after signing Jason Isringhausen last year, they were going to use closer by committee, or it was reported somewhere atleast. I doubt he uses closer by committee...what he was thinking was that Osuna and Marte will probably get a COMBINED total of 13 saves, and he thinks he has 3 closers. I wonder if Manuel ate paint chips when he was a kid.

What needs to happen for WS
He'll probably running the bases sometime in his career after he hit a ball out of the park with no bounces, which they call a homer most of the time, and be called out for some reason, and it will be totally legal too.
-
Thomas likely to stay with Sox? He is a Sox in 2003
Thomas will have a good year, barring injury.... .300 30 100 guarenteed.
-
What needs to happen for WS
I'd like another starter...and Kenny better not be BSing us again when he said he is going to get us another starter....Moyer, Daal, Byrd, Colon...whoever...as long as it's not another Todd Ritchie.
-
Thomas likely to stay with Sox
Nope....if he gets in the top 10 in MVP in any year he is with the White Sox in his current contract, he gets a bonus of $2 million.
-
What needs to happen for WS
I'd personally only use 6 out of the pen...and I don't think in 2005 or 06 the Twins and the Sox will be the only teams competing...we will have 3 other teams to worry about then....maybe not so much the Tigers or Royals, but I still worry...especially about the Royals. They are on the verge of putting together a good team...they just need some help from their youngsters...they will be fine in the end...not so sure about the Tigers....they could be in trouble. Anyways, we won't need 3 lefties in the bullpen and if lefties are at the same high price they are at now, Marte will be making $2-3 million within a couple years...and when you got a Royce Ring and an Arnaldo Munoz, who needs to keep Marte at $2-3 mill a year? He's good, but you don't need someone like that. My bullpen would be: Koch Munoz Ring Almonte Majewski Sanders/Biddle/Glover/Ginter
