Sn Report: Lee's Future is Dim as Sox Eye Pitcher
witesoxfan replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
*cough cough* Kerry Wood *cough cough* -
Maggs makes $9 million this year, Griffey $12 million....that is a difference of $3 million, obviously, and that only adds on $3 million. Maddux would cost atleast $10 million, and probably more, around $13 million or so, even at his age. One is without Maggs being traded, one is...the one that is is cheaper and would make more sense(in a financial sort of way...not in a baseball-sort of way though...not even close). I still don't know why we are even bothering with offers to get our offense better...I know KW is stupid, but stupid is is stupid does...if you want to screw him over, use pitching, not offense. He's like a dog following orders...don't trade for offense, trade for pitching. Maybe KW isn't the dumb-f*** we thought he was...either that, or there are other GMs that are bigger dumbf***s than him....I assume that's the case. Jim Bowden is one...he is also the one that made the harsh comments about the strike and 9/11....atleast our GM isn't that stupid. And then there is ESPN, making the hypothetical trade of Crede, Borchard and Stewart for Vladdy...are they f***ing serious? Do they not understand that when KW says "I want pitching" that he is not going to get a RFer?
-
Nope....it was one of the Mets or he who exercised his option for 2003....and it guarentees him about $7 million....if we only had to pay for $3.5-4 mill of it, it wouldn't be so bad...either that or else we give them Carlos...that cuts it down to about $3 million for next year. I'd rather get Paul Byrd though...cheaper and he actually pitched two halves of the year....and Brian Anderson. I'd take him too. Enough of this Omar Daal s***....he can take his $5 million and his screwy-ass windup to Milwaukee. That's fine with me. SamME will hit homers and hop around him all day...then again, Daal will get wins against the Cubs...the Cubs still think it's 1982 and the Brewers are a great team...then again, they are a great team when they play the Cubs.

Look who we get to face a bunch of times this year...
witesoxfan replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
But Tony's one of the more valuable bench players in the league...he could hit .300 and play any position....not only that, but he is good with the timber...he doesn't strike out much. I remember just seeing him flick the bat out to the ball in a Cubs-Sox game this past year and dump it in right-field, and he eventually ended up on 3B with a triple....it would have been a double had everyone's favorite steroid-shootin' freak not been in RF! -
Uhhhhhhh, when was the last time the Brewers didn't suck? Depends on your definition of sucking...if you don't think 106 losses sucks, then the Brewers a decent team...then again, if you don't think 106 losses sucks, I think I'd like to see what kind of drugs that person was taking.
-
I agree with baggs....and if we try to start him, how the hell is he going to get outs? He has two good pitches, a slider and a fastball...that's it, to my knowledge anyways....not only that, but if he suffered dead arm during the year, and he was pitching from the pen, how the hell is he gonna get through 3 innings, let alone 6 or 7?
-
I know another pitcher that can deal it when he's on....his first name is Dan and his last name is the opposite of wrong and he had a 5.17 ERA this year.
-
I hate it too....we need pitching, not offense...we already have one of the best offenses in the game, and if we acquired Vladdy with that package, we would be left without a CFer (though Vladdy did play CF in the All-Star game...however, I believe his arm is too valuable to be an everyday CFer), without a really good defensive and offensive 3Bman(probably Jose...I'd rather have him at SS and then have a power hitting SS and 3B, regardless of their average, because god knows Jose would hit the same at 3B and then we'd be stuck with Jimenez/Hummel at SS and Jimenez/Harris/Hummel at 2B, whoever earns the spot....we probably wouldn't be well off with that)....and then we'd lose Vladdy after this year, cuz he'd want atleast $20 mill a year, and that is way to f***ing high for anyone to be earning, including one of the best all-around players in the game. According to them, we'd have C - Olivo 1B - Konerko 2B - (I'll take a guess) Hummel 3B - Valentin SS - Jimenez LF - Lee CF - Guerrero RF - Ordonez DH - Thomas Without the deal(and because I'm a lazy ass, I'm just going to do the ones that change): 2B - Jimenez 3B - Crede SS - Valentin CF - Rowand/Harris/(enter name here) We're probably better at 2B, and if not, a change will be made...we're probably better at SS too....3B we are undoubtedly better and in CF we are much worse...but we not only save ourself the embarrassment of losing the gem of our system along with a great 3B prospect and a good pitcher for a player we would lose after this year anyways, but we save ourself a lot of talent as well. If that was a package for either 2 or 3 good pitchers or 1 or 2 upper escheleon starters, I could understand it....whether or not I'm way overpricing it. Vladdy isn't worth that much...that was obviously based on what the Expos would get out of it and no one thinking of how the White Sox would benefit...because they wouldn't.
-
Daal to talk to Brewers/Gord Ash sighting Not only that, but it also means that we will probably not get Omar Daal for the $2.5 mill a year if he gets what he is looking for....over $5 mill a year? He's reaching a bit there, if you ask me...jeezus that is a lot of money for a mediocre lefty. What has the game come to? Gord Ash is the assistant GM of the Brewers...lol, he's sunk quite a ways. Maybe in 2 years KW will be the assistant GM of the Devil Rays.
-
I don't have all of them, but I got the best one of them all.... Steve Carlton went 27-10 in 1972 on a Phillie team that went 59-97...it's pretty damn good to get 46% of your team's victories...think about it...without Carlton, they probably would have won 45 games that year, and that is being very unselfish. IMO, Steve Carlton of the 1972 Phillies could be compared to A-Rod of the 2001 and 2002 Rangers...notice that I said compared...they are not equals.
-
They were better with strikeout king at SS...atleast he could actually produce in the first two f***ing months of the season.
-
Jas, you can include Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling in that outside shot if you want to be technically correct...or you can take out Bartolo Colon. The Expos are trying to sign him long term, but may move Javy Vazquez...you can take out Ortiz too...we have nothing the Giants would want...they have a good 2B(Durham/Kent), SS(Aurilia), 1B(Minor/Snow), C(Santiago), LF(Bonds...he's ok), and CF(Grissom/Durham), and if Kent accepts their arbitration offer, he could move to 3B...that opens up RF, and I personally don't want to give up Maggs or Borchard for Ortiz when we could get a s***-load more for either of them, and I know that Ortiz is a pretty good pitcher too. Vazquez is the only pitcher we have a legit shot at trading wise....unless you think Sidney Ponson can go in their class...and I personally think he is a #4 pitcher...I'd rather sign Omar Daal than trade for Ponson.
-
Like this past year when he stated that Royce would be benched...3 games later, Royce was our starting shortstop again.
-
And the fact is we need pitching, not offense...the Rangers had a very dangerous lineup this past year...Raffy, A-Rod, Juan Gone and I-Rod in the heart of their order along with good hitting players around them....and they finished in dead last in a pitching strong division. In other words, we could be the Rangers next year, with one good pitcher, in Mark Buehrle, and a couple decent ones, with Jon Garland and Dan Wright, along with two very inexperienced other starters, along with a bullpen that is suspect at the moment.....we could also be a team better than we were in 2000, with a lineup just as good as that one, with better starting pitching and a bullpen just as good, with no other moves made...and we will get another starter whether it be from free agency or a trade. So I still question this deal...why the hell would we trade for more offense when in reality, our offense is already one of the best in the majors? We have a good 5-tool player in Maggs if that's what we wanted...if we wanted a cannon for an arm, we could bring up Borchard or use Rowand, as he's got a pretty good arm too...and Vlad is no Torii Hunter of a right-fielder...in fact, he's basically Sammy Sosa, without the hopping and blowing kisses, except he has a more accurate arm. Basically what I'm saying is, don't trade for him unless it is an offer which is obviously in our favor big-time....if it is comparable to the Mondesi for Wiggins trade or whatever it was, then possibly....I wouldn't even take Guerrero for Lee...I'd rather have a guy we could lock up long term than a guy like Vladdy who we would lose after this year anyways.

Each boob is the size of his head...combined they are two heads, or roughly the size of Rhode Island...or so they seem
-
Like in the 7-Up commercials?
-
Oh jeezus....we could kiss atleast 2 future all-stars goodbye...holy s***. Get Brett Tomko....he's a pretty good pitcher. Give them Lee....Tomko could be a 12-15 game winner with an ERA right around Paul Byrd's. And Lee could contribute to a considerably bad offense. Only problem, IMO, with that is that we'd be dealing with Kevin Towers....he is a damn good GM too. If we fired KW, that'd be the first guy I'd contact. Billy Beane would cost too much.
-
So, as I said before....is Ron Karkovice's agent being contacted?
-
But then again, there is no excuse for beating your husband....holding her back isn't, or shouldn't be, considered abuse if your wife is having a bit of rage. And killa....I wouldn't worry about Torii Hunter charging the mound either...but I'd grab a glove!

HOLY FUCKIN SHIT!!!!!!!! NEW COMISKEY RENOVATION PICS!!!!!
witesoxfan replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's being a bit more on the realistic side, if you ask me personally. -
I'd have to think that's that only reason I don't want Finley here....what if he hits a guy that is really pissed at the time and he charges the mound? Is he gonna run to his teammates like a little b****? I don't want a pussy for a pitcher that can't defend himself. If he gets the s*** beat out of him by his wife, then what the hell is he gonna do against a muscleman of a LFer, RFer, 3B or a 1B? Hell, what in the hell would he do if Omar Vizquel charged the mound? If that happened, I'd have one thing to say... "20 bucks on Omar"
-
HSC....Minny having quite a few FA's? How about Bob Wells and Mike Jackson? I wouldn't mind picking up Mike Jackson though...he's Antonio Osuna with a lighter wallet and a faker arm....with more of a brain and a willingness to just dish out his knowledge....which would be great for our young arms coming up. And then when he retires, making him our bullpen coach.
-
If the White Sox sign Finley, does that mean no more WhiteSnake? LMFAO!
-
share figured announced.... no wonder the giants can afford
witesoxfan replied to a topic in Pale Hose Talk
Exactly....now imagine if KW and JR saw that....or atleast JR. Think he might shell out some extra dough? Oh wait a second....this is JR we are talking about...savior of Frank! We must praise him, no matter what he does! However, if he tossed in the extra couple mill, that would be damn nice. -
Phil Rogers is a smart man (Top 10 prospects)

Cubs fan 1 asks: "Will the Cubbies be any good this year? I think they will be." PR: "They could be." Cubs fan 2 asks: "Will the Cubbies be any good this year? I think they are gonna win the World Series!" PR: "What in the hell are you smoking?"
