  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) I don't think the Bears have even gotten the loudest boos in Chicago... I believe that belongs to the Fire
  2. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) What's the point of baseball if you're not even going to try? I've said this before and I'll say it again: bring out the monster trucks. US Cellular in 2013 + Gravedigger = match made in heaven. /obligatory "why even play the games" remark
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) Platoon Viciedo/Dunn and get a LF'er. I'm "hung up on" Viciedo because finding a platoon for him is the most cost effective way to improve the offense. That is the most expensive platoon in the league. It's also not going to happen.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) I actually really like my typo. I agree 2000%. It's sounds like an alien robot.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:37 AM) What does everyone think the chances are that AJ was cheating? 1%
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 09:22 AM) Obvious problem with that setup is that you haven't prevented the person with no license from owning a car, and you might well have transformed them into a person who drives without a license. It might work for some people but not for others. If it reduces the incidence, it's a decent regulation, but it still leaves a "gun show used car purchase" loophole to fix. You are looking at the same problems with gun control as well. There is no perfect solution.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:52 AM) If people have good ways to suggest laws that would reduce the incidence of drunk driving, I'd be totally game for those also. I think city-funded tipsy-tow programs or free drivers or something like that, the type of thing that happens on expensive nights, would be a great thing to have in areas with multiple bars. I'd think of it as effectively an expense that the city imposes upon those facilities. 1 DUI, license suspended for a year; 2 DUI, license suspended indefinitely until re-approved by said power; 3 DUI, never, ever, ever get your license back
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:45 AM) The future is bright for the Bulls. Until then, just enjoy the best league on the planet, people! The NFL
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:28 AM) oh, well, that wold cause a problem Little bit. Plus, I want absolutely nothing to do with her. I have no problem talking to her, but that does not mean I want to talk to her.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:14 AM) I see sexting in your future.... Not when she is 1500 miles away with a boyfriend of 2 years
  11. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) There is supplemental revenue sharing apart from what you are thinking about. See page 222 of the current cba. The White Sox had to contribute money to this revenue sharing last season and will be one of 11 teams contributing again in 2013. The Tigers were recipients in 2012, and will be again in 2013, albeit a lower percentage. I'm sure it's discussed in the legalese, but how do they derive these percentages?
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Nickname you team something that nobody can pronounce. That is great marketing. C'est une excellente idée. Ils devraient également annoncer des jeux en français!
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) That deal actually makes way too much sense. I hate Jason Vargas out of Seattle.
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) Looks like Morales just went to Seattle for Vargas. Bad news -- one more Floyd suitor off the market. I am aware of Morales' numbers last year, and the fact that Vargas was good on the road in 2011, but this is one of the worst 1-for-1 deals I have seen in a long time
  15. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Let's see how Flowers offensive and defensive performance hold up after he gets banged up and worn down from catching every day. That's what a lot of people don't seem to appreciate about AJ's game. I think everyone has greatly apprciated what AJ Pierzynski has done for the White Sox franchise day in and day out for 8 seasons. I think we also believe that it's time to move on and to begin developing a young catcher. AJ can't stick around forever and now's as good a time as there ever will be.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) "the dream" text is a ask for sex. Well I'd still hit it, but she lives in Seattle and is working in Florida at the moment. It's not worth that much.
  17. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) I take it you guys aren't liking Alexei Ramirez's contract from here out. I honestly thought they were talking about Alexei for a second
  18. Aligning myself primarily with libertarians, I will just say that is the worst idea I've ever heard in my entire life unless you are training an army to have no fear and to conquer Europe.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) You don't have to REPLACE a.j. with flowers completely. You have to replace enough of him to warrant saving a ton of money at the position. That's true too.
  20. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Oops! And Flowers to Karkovice! I'm fairly certain Flowers is better than Karko ever was. My bad. I have no problem with the Flowers and Karkovice comparison. Flowers has a better track record but they have similar games. Pierzynski to Fisk is a little outlandish though. You are talking about a good, durable starting catcher to one of the greatest catchers of all time.
  21. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) This kinda reminds me of when the Sox thought Karkovice was ready to replace Fisk. And you just compared AJ Pierzynski to Carlton Fisk
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Yeah I'd sit Ridley. He fumbled twice last week and you can't trust Belichick, especially since he has Vereen, Woodhead and Bolden to play with Actually looking at numbers, I would go with Gore as well. I was under the impression from my 49er brother-in-law who has Gore that he'd been getting the rock less and less. He's a safe play.
