  1. Read Bob Costas's book Fair Ball.... he definitely brings up some good points in that book about this exact topic.
  2. What a selfish f***. How will Sosa stay sharp during his suspension? "It's a little tougher on the road because you don't get the time you do at home," Baker said. "On the road, we have 40 minutes to hit and we have guys who need the time to play too." Baker said he didn't know what Sosa would do with his spare time. "I'm sure he's not going to like sitting in a hotel," he said. "I'm sure he's not going to like sitting in the stands. Can you see that?" Informed that several White Sox players sat in the stands for a Sox-Tigers series in Comerica Park when they were suspended for taking part in a brawl in 2000, Baker replied, "Their name wasn't Sammy Sosa." No, but one of those players was Magglio Ordonez. "He still wasn't Sammy Sosa," Baker said. "Mags is pretty good, but he still has a way to go before he catches Sammy." As it turned out, Sosa went back to his hotel. From the Cubune
  3. There's no question the offense isn't doing the job for him, abozichiu. I'm just saying he shouldn't b**** about it; just blame it on hard luck or (better yet) take the blame himself for a bad start, and he wouldn't piss so many people off.
  4. You don't have special threads about Buehrle being 10-2 because he's EXPECTED to be something like 10-2 or 10-4. Like Chris Rock said, "you ain't supposed to take credit for s*** you're SUPPOSED to do!" Bottom line, he should just shut up and pitch. If he wants to comment on how he personally played a particular game, fine, but don't go pointing fingers at your offense, even slightly (ESPECIALLY to the media).
  5. I agree with you there, SI.... Bud's going to f*** something else up within the next couple of years....
  6. Just observe Kirk Reuter tonight, I suppose (isn't he going?).
  7. I just count Sammies hopping over the plate on a pop fly... helps me get a nice peaceful night of sleep
  8. A) was the correct answer. Makes it that much more pathetic.
  9. I believe he was 4th worst in run support in the AL. Anyone care to guess what team's starters occupied the top 3?
  10. Why'd Oswalt leave anyway??? I'm concerened... fantasy team....
  11. I'd pick Kip way before Lofton, Ventura, or Johnson... you have Olivo in place of Johnson, and Kip is putting up great numbers this year (better than Lofton or Ventura can get ya, IMO).
  12. Well, I think his BB:K ratio is more affected by the BB side than anything else.
  13. Farmio and Rooney were talking about Foppert's fastball tonight... saying he hides it so well in his delivery that it has the effect of a 96-er by the time the guys pick it up out of his hand.
  14. I'm thinking Theo Fleury should be there somewhere
  15. I'd got ELo SP with Borowski CL.
  16. Jesus... Ray's only 5'8" 165? Daaaaaaaaaamn!! I'm bigger than he is!

  18. Eh.. put that finger away. There is not ONE face value ticket OVER $250 - and that is the suite with all you can eat food and drink. It's the scalpers that are asking $2K. Not MLB. Or the Cubs' ticket agency?
  19. To go show our appreciation for Sosa :finger :finger :finger :fyou :fyou
  20. Alright.... is there a site I can upload a picture on so I can use it on this board? Or can I just post it off my hard drive and upload it right on this site?
  21. And, may I add, the Trib did a good enough of a job covering this matter for me, so it's all definitely old news
  22. Colon's a SP though.... 5 games for a SP = 1 game for everyone else.
  23. Osuna.... but he's worthless unless you have a holds category.
  24. I could put up better numbers than the double digit era numbnuts has been toting around... White's not doing so bad... assuming 1 IP per outing, he's averaging 1 scoreless outing per 9, about. So his scoreless IP average is comparable to Loaiza's ERA...
