SOX GT 6/24 - BEGINNING OF A 3 GAME WIN STREAK

Every team should do this against the Sox until they somehow figure out a way to stop them... -

Especially when he has been hurt all year long, seemingly. Burger in guarding against the bunt...takes advantage, not exactly a brilliant play since he scores from second anyway with two outs. Maybe looking for another WP? -

Stolen base parade. Yet another Sox organizational weakness...holding runners on, time to home plate. -

Of course the run scores right after the SB. Now Anderson getting into it with the umpires... -

That would require another TLR running an MLB front office somewhere. -

Trayce Thompson back up with the Dodgers...along with Eddie Alvarez on their roster. -
Alex Verdugo would be a good buy low candidate. LH. LOL. Great personality. Articulate...future broadcaster. Not in the long term plans for Boston, hitting arbitration, just 26...consistent 2 fWAR guy for three seasons prior to this year.

Bring him up to sit on the bench until Anderson is traded in 2023/2024. -

Throwing in parking as well? That is where JR has the highest profit margin...except for sodas and beer. -

While his natural position is 3B...the majority of his time recently has been spent at second. -

Think it was more about the Orioles...who keep getting underestimated. Trout/Ohtani are salivating. -

The Sox success rate in FA the last decade is roughly 25-30%. This year Graveman and Cueto. The kid from Little Big League could do better than that. Or just throwing darts while blindfolded at a wall and signing whichever players you landed on until you maxed out your budget. -

Only this franchise could force their fans to hate it so much. Well, maybe the Reds are right there… Even the A’s and Rays are coming from logical positions financially. These guys only care about showing how much smarter they are than everyone else…they have never cared about the fans, who just end up being collateral damage of their shortsighted decision making process. -

Yet they fucking play Sheets day in and day out even when he strikes out 3-4 times…no consequences for certain players. Hypocrisy at it’s finest. This idiotic rookie treatment and almost hazing. Ozzie did the same crap with Anderson, Beckham and Viciedo. -

Obviously a Conforto deal would at the very least cover 2023. Sox never do things creatively, regardless. I don't know why we would prefer to play Vaughn in RF when he was significantly worse there than LF last year...and tamp down most of his plus value from an fWAR standpoint. Because we have to keep Abreu around forever out of respect or loyalty? Because he's helping the Sox to get the most out of Moncada and Robert? Because we're utilizing payroll so efficiently we can allocate another $15 million in a 2023 where he might completely fall apart ala Konerko at the end of his career? Personally, would rather try a Hispanic or bilingual manager under retirement age that can really relate to modern athletes like a Kapler type. Let Vaughn play where he truly feels comfortable and is far less likely to get hurt compared to the OF.

If not against Baltimore at home, when? And a pitcher with this profile? They will only play him against lefties, it seems. Probably end up facing Rodon on July 3rd. -

Or storing all those mostly garbage relievers and Yermin down there when they were never going to recall him again. If they perceive him as primarily a utility guy like Semien at the time it doesn't matter all that much. -

"He just didn't look competitive enough in his two players appearances yesterday. Let him observe the speed of the game from the dugout for awhile first." But we must invariably hit Gavin Sheets 5th or 6th for the next two weeks because of his performance (well, except for slower sprint speed to home than Konerko) yesterday. -
Can the White Sox right the ship without making any major moves?
caulfield12 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They have a trend-line of being at .500 for nearly 110 games now. They have a much worse RS/RA than even the lowly Orioles right now. No team has underachieved so badly their preseason expectations…none of that’s going to be easily fixed because the odds of Grandal and Jimenez being back to normal are pretty danged low. Moncada, maybe 50/50. Then you have Giolito and the possibility of Hendriks’ elbow going at any time. The team has been making the same fundamental mistakes for 2-3 years now. They are what they are. TLR isn’t going to change any of that in-season. We have one pretty good coach in Katz (who’s losing his star pupil in Giolito from a psychological/confidence standpoint)…and one invaluable front office member in Paddy. Anyone who has watched the Guardians and Twins knows they might be less talented (probably the Guardians), but they play so much more cohesively as teams and not individual collections of talent thrown together . They are almost impossible to beat at home (Sox well under .500) and they never give up until the last out. It’s going to take another month before we have a handful of defensive plays to equal one game for Baltimore. Robert, Anderson, McGuire and Harrison…Moncada when healthy, are the only plus defenders. That’s not going to change either in the next 2-3 months. -
Simply a matter of increasing his trade value by not having him struggle at the next level… Hopefully green/teal. But you just never know with this organization.

Naquin getting more plate appearances than those four high-profile names directly below (and Burger) tells you everything you need to know about this particular season. -
Mendick, Engel, and (maybe) Robert leave with injuries
caulfield12 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Haseley and Mendick are technically not rookies. Would have to see if Burger had more than 130 at bats last year.
