White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
How many players would be expected to improve with the same coaching staff? Lynn, Moncada, Grandal, Giolito, Jimenez and Pollock are arguably the most underperforming. If you run it out there with basically the same team and Colas in RF, will that really be any better? That’s “all in”? Really? Then there’s just as many players who could easily go backwards and/or get injured again, right?

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Need 2012 Dunn/Gallo, not 2011/2021-22…

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
Then we have only 6 players actually worth their money on the roster. Cease Vaughn Anderson Robert Kopech…Abreu Mercedes .260, 1 , 7, .782 ops

Give Your 2022 Sox a Slogan
Not quite as poignant as the Ron LeFlore Story, shot mostly at Clinton’s historic WWII era minor league ballpark.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Jay Cuda might know…if anyone can make sense of it through numbers.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Maybe the goal is to direct booing to a “player villain” instead…?

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Fine trade the entire farm system except this year’s drafted pitchers and Montgomery/Colas/Vera. Just have to roll the dice I guess. If they totally gut the farm system and fail miserably, Hahn or JR or TLR have to gone somehow. If they win, great too.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Does anyone actually believe it makes sense to send important pieces out while TLR is still the manager? And I mean underachieving or oft-injured players on the 25 man MLB roster…

Why not Colas?
Oh, so that's what happened to Nick Williams! I'm not even sure we could trust him with Palka or Delmonico if they were to inexplicably return...
-
Why not Colas?
Are you sure you're not confusing them with the Cubs trading away Happ-y Robertson Contreras Schwindel etc.?

Or darkness. This is the end, my only friend, the end. Jim Morrison Also terribly overvaluing all prospects not named Montgomery Vera Colas.

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
He might regress, sure. But he might have really found something like Loiaza in 2003 that lasts for most of the year. To say he doesn't give you a better chance than Giolito or Lynn or whoever takes Kopech starts down the stretch is a bit preposterous unless you forget the name and look carefully at the reasons behind the All-Star results. Plus we need at least one lefty for balance. That said, Rangers won't just give him away but also aren't forced to trader him if dissatisfied with the returns offered.

Guardians might win the division and they're still looking to deal Bieber, Plesac or Civale at the right price. Wouldn't that be a kick in the face if they can still pull off a "Rays counterintuitive stealth genius deadline" while adding youth to once again replace veterans and simultaneously get cheaper?

Why not Colas?
You're too far behind in likes at a Cubs' board to ever catch up?

Sept. 12th, 2012…will the situation reverse a decade later?
Yeah, that 2003 season was a gut punch. The Jose Panigua game and the downfall of Esteban Loiaza during the last 6-8 weeks.

Benintendi to NYY
Well, maybe he meant guys who actually perform/ed well and somehow helped the team more than hindering it...which is arguably what locking up Pollock and not being able or willing to QO Rodon because of payroll limitations caused by picking up the Kimbrel option in the first place actually accomplished. It really seems like Charles Johnson was the last big time position player who made a significant impact back in 2000. And then there was White Flag, of course.

Benintendi to NYY
Gallo would have to be Pollock going the other way to cancel out two bad contracts...partially, at least.

Joe Kelly leaves with injury
Josh Harrison is actually the one who noticed and try to save/protect Kelly first...

This is the Dumbest Team in Baseball
Right one was Davis Martin. Who was chastised by TLR? The other was Jose Ramirez I think...

If you had to choose Twins or Guardians
Cardinals are hard to love except when they used to play the Cubs. But you definitely respected their tradition, financial prudence, fan support and teams more often than not.
-
If you had to choose Twins or Guardians
Even if you combined the Sox Royals and TigerI into a "megateam", you still might not beat the Yankees Astros and Blue Jays when they're hot offensively.

This is the Dumbest Team in Baseball
Some of them for most of the season haven't even seemed interested in making millions to play a kids' game.

If you had to choose Twins or Guardians
and the White Sox were already eliminated from contention, who would you choose for the Central? I will go with the Guardians for a number of reasons: 1) Better than Sox clearly head to head 2) 27th highest payroll, roughly 1/3rd Sox budget...that's embarrassing 3) Historical franchise ineptitude...no World Series win in many fans' lifetimes 4) Have a former Sox minor league manager in Francona getting best of HoFer LaRussa...also embarrassing the Sox never go after the best managers outside the organization. 5) Sox can still play spoiler against Twins six of last nine games of season. 6) Real-time proof that drafting, development and analytics can work for one of the smallest media markets...can still afford Jose Ramirez who's arguably the best player in the division and a much bigger contract commitment than the Sox have ever made for one of their own or FA. 7) Cinderella/David vs. Goliath team. Most effort heart determination hustle and emotion expressed by far compared to pretty much any team in baseball other than the M's right now. Fundamentally sound. ? Emmanuel Clase the best young closer in game...proof you don't need to overspend on the bullpen because of drafting and solid trades.
