  1. Wacha was the only one in their price range who has come close to putting up those numbers.
  2. Doesn't matter anymore. Game is almost over for all intents and purposes.
  3. 12 straight NY runs without a Sox response over the span of just four innings of actual play.
  4. This was one of those games that seemed such an easy choice to pick NY it almost looked like a sucker bet. Leury misplaced that of course...shouldn't have been a double. And then Abreu's having to make another difficult scoop play. Anderson could have taken that ball on the fly and had a DP.
  5. But when the Sox miss those chances the other teams always take advantage....seemingly.
  6. What is the usual reason a ball hits off the heel and not end of a fielder's glove? It's because he slightly misread it or overran it. Not saying it was an easy play by any stretch of the imagination.
  7. And you know when you give the Yankees extra opportunities...
  8. Not an error but a play that should have been made more often than not. Engel would have had that ball and the one Leury just missed.
  9. Judge had the ball hit off the heel of his glove...he catches that 75-80% of time. Kiner Falafel blew up a surefire DP ball off Robert's bat.
  10. Yankees gave the White Sox SIX outs that inning and we still didn't score. Hopeless. Yankees' defense.way too good to keep sabotaging themselves like the White Sox invariably do.
  11. Probably not the best swing at 100...just need to make contact. TA7 of course gets into an argument with that jackass Donaldson.
  12. Tailor made DP ball turns into an opportunity to get back into this game...
  13. Well, we basically made Naylor the second best hitter on the Guardians thanks to how we pitched him.
  14. Ron waited for his annual diatribe until Abreu was 0/15 and just 4/24 with RISP.
  15. Btw, just what the Sox hitters need...Cole has added a cutter this season. Gas. He gone. Oops it's Moncada. No chance turning around a letter high 99 mph FB.
  16. We might need to move all the Monday to Thursday home games to Havana to win anything this year.
  17. Or young twenty-something kids like Vaughn. Yankees have now won 16 out of 18. Jesus Donaldson almost decapitated Pollock.
  18. Can't afford to give up XB hits after walks. Solo homers are going to happen.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/news/jarred-kelenic-first-time-playing-at-citi-field-since-trade Interesting timing to say the least to send him down right before they were about to play his drafting team at Citi...
  20. They likely win the division in a season long battle of attrition...still must be considered favorites, but it's going to be incredibly challenging to catch the Yankees/Blue Jays and Angels/Astros for HFA. Houston is just destroying teams right now. Not to mention we basically have no good options to pick up the slack for Kopech somewhere in the middle of the season...plus there's not much payroll flexibility to add at the TDL like they did with Kimbrel last year.
  21. Btw there's a long long laundry list of good players with track records under the 600 ops mark still... If Jose, Harrison Kelly Lynn Grandal Keuchel Pollock all continue to struggle/don't return to past form, we are going nowhere fast. AJ is showing some positive signs of pulling out of it.
  22. Thought this was one of the better posts on last night, from SoxMachine game comments... "Banks was going to come in for the 8th until the Sox tied the game. I sit on the 3B side so I can see the bullpen very well. As soon as Moncada tied the game Kelly started warming up. Because Abreu and Roberts both grounded out on short AB’s, Kelly wasn’t warm when he came in. I’ve noticed that TLR never warms two guys at the same time. TLR didn’t plan for the possibility that the Sox would tie the game! And then had no one ready when Kelly walked Gonzalez other than Banks, who is a AAA pitcher at best. Last, why oh why did Garcia cut off Anderson on Judge’s groundball to short? Yeah, they were shifted a bit, but if TA takes the ball he is running toward first, not away from it like Garcia and gets the out. Inning over. If you signed Harrison, why don’t you play him. Garcia is a versatile substitute, not an everyday guy. I was at Monday’s meltdown and yesterday’s. This is a mediocre, undisciplined team. Roster construction is poor and on field management is worse." Dick Allen (poster obviously) responded by saying he didn't buy the excuse that Kelly wasn't properly warmed up because of the higher temps at the ballpark last night.
