  1. Vaughn actually playing where he belongs. Guardians somehow already scored three off McClanahan already. They also face Royals 6 of last 9 games of season. Sox and Twins same pattern final week. Adv Cleve.
  2. They keep saying they don't have the minor league pieces to trade like it's the fault of other teams and not the Hahn Regime.
  3. And Brantley's lack of power isn't as conspicuous this season with the ball not carrying for most of the league other than Judge. Definition of a professional hitter with competitive at bats and veteran leadership. Unfortunately, out of their comfortable budget. They got scared off because of the Melky Cabrera flop. But Brantley has always been a better, more consistent player.
  4. What does Jay Cuda have, too much time on his hands or a quantum computer? Flip that 1-3 around and they're in first place.
  5. Well Hahn hasn't been able to pull off a trade his entire tenure like that... Fwiw we need to buy out the Rays' front office. It's simply incredible they are contending with that starting lineup missing Franco, Ramirez, Margot and Kiermaier. Yandy Diaz is their best hitter right now. The bottom four might be even worse than the numbers for Sox bottom of the lineup this year.
  6. Discussion being the key point. We would need to trade half our farm system for Pablo Lopez. Chisholm is right behind him. And they can simply trade Cooper away and sign him right back…they don't desperately need 1B types on their roster.
  7. Pretty incredible they turned a Top 5 job in MLB into one of the 5-7 worst two years later. No payroll flexibility, overloaded with aging/injured veterans and under-performers, bereft of more than a couple of impact players at the minor league level to supplement the big league roster. Stuck permanently between rebuilding, retooling and running it back out there with no better realistic options.
  8. This feels like that dead zone period for Sox prospects when we were pretty consistently a bottom 5-10 system under Williams (due to so many trades to fill mlb roster holes) and the #6-10 guys in the system got lot more hype and attention than was actually warranted. I remember a Latin American catcher being on the BA Top Ten for 2-3 years even, never made it to the big leagues.
  9. The White Sox will do TA the courtesy of giving Montgomery time at other positions in 2nd half 2023 unless 1) they’re not planning on keeping TA after 2023, or 2) they want Montgomery to quietly succeed Anderson in 2024 but not ready to trade Anderson quite yet, or 3) they feel Montgomery will outgrow SS eventually. Moncada is not one to feel any pressure until his option years and not guaranteed ones come into question. Even then, maybe he’ll be ready for a trade instead, fresh start like Kelenic probably needs as well.
  10. They have zero reason to trade an injured Chisholm unless the Sox will still value him as a Top 5-10 NL MVP candidate like he was the first three months…
  11. Don’t think the White Sox would trade Vera for Perez. Only the Perez position player equivalent, which is probably closer to the intermediate value between Happ and Josh Bell.
  12. See Green, Draymond. Although he seems to really enjoy the role of instigator/agitator at times. Emotion is much less useful in baseball, of course. But another couple of similar incidents and he will really start to get more of a label attached.
  13. The only bloodbath will be the ST game thread if the offense disappears for 2/3rd's of the game again.
  14. Is he back in Chicago or still in Nashville? They don't have games on Monday, right?
  15. Elon? Jeff Bezos quote? Zuck?
  16. Who is actually available in the bullpen tonight? Anyone? Also please put Engel and Leury in the outfield for defense.
  17. Orioles Tigers A's all top 5 in AL bullpen ERA in July. Don't need huge budgets to pull off that accomplishment.
  18. Orioles Tigers A's all top 5 in AL bullpen ERA in July. Don't need huge budgets to pull off that accomplishment.
  19. Pollock will be either $12 or $13 million next year based on PA incentives this season.
  20. But they could use more offense out of their back up. Every year they're in the bottom 3-5 at that spot offebsively but it doesn't even faze them a bit.
  21. I don't know how they're not going to lose 40-50% or more of season ticket holders at this rate... It's going to be an abysmal renewal season for Boyer.
  22. Watch Zavala go on a tear for a playoff team like the Astros looking to potentially upgrade from Maldonado.
  23. WTP Did Kasper or Stone think it was gone?
