Goal to compete in 2023 but most likely 2024-25 Hold: Robert, Vaughn, Cease (control through 2026), Jimenez (control through 2024 plus two more expensive option years), Crochet, Moncada (through 2024 plus $25 million option), Sheets, Lynn (until he proves to be healthy) Undecided, depends on offers/interest: Bummer Start exploring potential market/s for beginning in early June if no turnaround or managerial change: Anderson, Giolito, Kopech (control through 2025, would have to be absolutely blown away with an offer) Salary dumps to regain financial flexibility and replenish AA/AAA quality depth (plug n play guys like the Olson trade to ATL): Grandal, Hendriks, Keuchel (almost all dead money at this point), Abreu, Pollock, Lynn (depends how he looks upon return), Graveman, Kelly Looking at those choices, the hardest decisions would be about the futures of Moncada and Kopech…obviously TA7 would be the most controversial/polarizing of all. The writing already seems to be on the wall with Lucas’ eventual fate.

Another point about the flatness of 1B...I had the worst case of plantar fasciitis from landing with all my weight on the heel and not the front part of the foot like they always teach you to do. Almost the exact opposite (Eloy mistimed his steps and ended up clipping the back of the bag awkwardly), because I lunged forward with my foot instead of running right through the bag.

Of course I know who all those people are...I guess I was more into SNL, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Eddie Murphy, etc. I distinctly remember my father having a Cosby cassette tape, but I only liked The Cosby Show and not his stand-up. -

I think you can cancel and get it prorated...seems like it used to be charged all at one time in the past, but mine is on a monthly plan right now for some reason. -
Well, obviously Luis Robert seemed to shake his injury off...considering the initial reactions of he might never be the same player again. Haven't seen the sprint speeds yet this year, he might be running at 90-95% compared to last year.
-
They'd probably suffer another injury or two just practicing it...
-
Missing that much time...he likely wouldn't be able to re-establish any kind of hitting rhythm or consistency just like last year in the 2nd half.

And 9 is the all-time record for a World Series winner...1953 New York Yankees. Must have been one long week of partying for Mickey Mantle and the boys. -
“Brutal,” Guardians center fielder Myles Straw told reporters. “Worst fan base on the planet.” nypost.com Rivalry with the Yankees suddenly more interesting. As Mercado told reporters after the game, he was turning to run back to the dugout when two cans were thrown his way, causing him to lose his cool: Said Straw, “It was just a beer parade. You could see them (beer cans) coming from a mile away. We were just trying to avoid the beer cans. Our bullpen was getting hit with them, too. “It doesn’t surprise me. I think (Trevor) Stephan got hit by an ice cream cone or something crazy. It was all kinds of stuff. I’ve never seen this anywhere else.”

That was their marketing plan all along. Dramatic comeback. Tension at the trade deadline. Nail biting pennant race games to attend down the stretch. Aging veterans to replace. -
Not sure even Vince Lombardi could do the trick. Maybe a "Weekend at Bernie's" trick with Connie Mack?

None of them. Bob Hope with a gun to my head minus his politics I guess. Tyler Danish in for Boston in a game perfectly emblematic of this zany season. -

Speaking of no offense, I give you TB and Boston. TB has no hitter through 9, going into Bottom of the 9th tied 0-0. Two hits and an error for TB. -
Then sat out a season...so two full years.

At least most lethargic, dispirited and poorly-managed. At this rate, Stone or LaRussa or Benetti will get in a fight with someone on the plane coming back. They should make them bus all the way back with a Monday off day. -

Morneau said it was supposed to rain at around 6. Perfect. Just let Benetti and Stone do a comedy show or sing Nationwide jingles for rain delay theatre. -

Stay away from overrated, overhyped ACC players seems to be the moral of the story.
