  1. The ENTIRE goal was to be ready for post-season success. Rodon and Lynn were already pitching on fumes by that point. I know that we will hear Kopech's injury got in the way of that plan to give him starts down the stretch...although it's hard to imagine them starting him over Lynn, Giolito or Cease unless he was just completely lights out down the stretch.
  2. Or just spend MONEY on a quality RFer so we don't have to suffer through another decade of waiting for ONE outfield prospect out of 6-8 (other than Robert, who was a massive exception) to become a regular.
  3. Boyer must have gotten on the horn about making some token effort to excite/motivate/encourage fans instead of disparage them. TLR certainly wasn't going to walk back his comments or admit he misspoke. (On the plus side, his off the cuff words can't precipitate the launch of tactical nuclear weapons at least.)
  4. It's a sad testimony this might be one of the Top 2-3 moves of the entire offseason if they can get can get Haseley back in the right place physically and mentally.
  5. Have Burr, Foster or Ruiz shown any indications at all in spring they are any different than past versions?
  6. What did that Weems kid do after seemingly coming out of nowhere to be a back-end Top Ten prospect before he was traded…? Haven’t paid much attention. ONE of the initial tweets about the deal made this Moore guy out to a stud, that’s undoubtedly what Greensox was responding to.
  7. Well, other than the no hitter, that would have been the route to go with Rodon last year. Same with Lynn, who faded down the stretch as well. With a bigger contract than $3 million or team control in 2022 for Los, they would have treated him with kid gloves as a team asset. They certainly didn’t push Kopech and Crochet last year, for example.
  8. Yeah, we can never have enough of these guys. Of course, we could have just paid legit money for Taylor and not had to juggle so many question marks in the line-up.
  9. They pretty much have to do something with all the uncertainty around Kopech…just not getting hopes too high it’s someone like Montas.
  10. Would take Crick over Burr or Foster…
  11. Well, we had a huge bump from Hamilton, Yermin and Goodwin out of the blue last year, maybe this year Haseley or Cuiffo…why not?
  12. Just listened briefly. Was at 97 again. Clevinger got totally destroyed, fwiw. Did that pulled early from inning, return start of next and got pulled again trick. TA7 on Sox lineup, pre-Vaughn injury "I would hate to be a pitcher. From top to bottom, you are going to be competing every at-bat," Anderson told me during a recent conversation. "If you miss your spots, and guys are having a good day, it's going to be a long day. Guys are going to pretty much get you. "We have some good hitters, some good solid contact hitters who will always put the bat on the ball. We got some speed in there, some power. We've got a little bit of everything. Guys are going to give you some good ABs. We got another year under our belt, so a lot more mature and kind of now we understand our plan and what we are trying to do. "You guys are going to see a little bit of growth," Anderson said. "I don't know how much. But it's been another year so definitely some growth in there." From Scott Merkin’s predictably positive MLB.com article…”Even without the hard-hitting Vaughn, though, this shapes up as the most talented White Sox lineup I've covered in 20 years on the beat for MLB.com, with all apologies to the 2006 crew.” What, nothing about churros, craft brews and a slew of spectacular sponsor promotional giveaway nights?
  13. We’ll see how good his defense is with a 47% falloff in speed from two seasons ago…we usually don’t “coach up” players unless it’s getting surprising offense at catcher from the likes of Narvaez and McCann. Likely will still be much better than Eloy, Sheets and Andrew.
  14. Look at the Rays, smartly taking Drew Rasmussen from the Brewers and Luke Raley from the Astros. They never cease to amaze. For the White Sox, we already don’t know when Kopech and Kelly will pitch.
  15. Well, Leury’s post season homer notwithstanding, TLR might force us to hate him anyway.
  16. Reminds one of when KW got the wrong Barry/Berry in similar fashion from the Dodgers.
  17. Rodon pitching today like All-Star 2021 version again…sigh.
  18. https://www.thegoodphight.com/2021/10/23/22731117/2021-report-card-adam-haseley Phillies’ site claims it was likely a mental health issue with Haseley. Athletic article embedded inside this one…
  19. What would they have done had they just missed on Robert? Seems a headline signing of Harper/Machado would have almost been imperative.
  20. Not quite the 109 that Jerksticks is projecting…or close to 100, even.
  21. Kiermaier ouchy. Meadows not in the lineup, for conspiracy theorists. Two Lowe’s and Brett Phillips (DH). Looks like Josh Lowe, a 20-20 guy, will be the final OF cut so he can play every day at Durham. And shockingly Gary Sanchez bad/indifferent defense leads to a run.
  22. And yet he’s been involved with constructing how many WS teams now? 4-5? Maybe 6…
  23. Why would the Phillies deliberately keep trying to worsen their OF defense? And nearly everyone says Gardner to NYY or retiring.
