  1. Royals not leading in either of their WS seasons. But then leading the Indians in 2016, who eventually went on to face the Cubs and Heyward's motivational speech.
  2. Imagine if we severely overpaid to get back Q to replace the $18 million Keuchel lol? He's entering today with a 2.18 ERA. Hahn just won't or can't go there, right?
  3. Everything Hahn has done has backfired, minus Cueto and Graveman. At this point, waiting for the Twins to come back to .500ish is not a winning strategy because Minnesota has a much better farm system and more payroll flexibility at the trade deadline. Even the Guardians will likely be within 2-3 games of the Twins another month from now. Where the Sox fall in there is anyone's guess. They have absolutely no leeway to lose a top starting pitcher. Lynn has to look closer to first four plus months last year than gassed/limping down the stretch, too.
  4. Well, they are down four starters, counting Paddack. They are clearly in .500/survival mode for at least the next month. Waiting on healthy Correa Buxton R.Lewis Kiriloff Sano, etc. A lot depends on the health of Ryan and Gray, adding one more piece like Montas and then Maeda returning from surgery the last 4-6 weeks of the season.
  5. Hahn might as well because he will be gone if things go completely off the rails. Have to double down like the Padres did this offseason, and even then, their offense is still short Voldemort and potentially Benintendi.
  6. Someone will probably fix Kelley and turn him into a Cy Young candidate in five years. While the Davis Martin start was encouraging, I just can't imagine this front office being able to replicate all the Twins' (starting) pitching moves of the last 12 months. We desperately need the equivalent of a rookie in Joe Ryan to replace Giolito and/or Lynn...otherwise, the budget is still stretched too thinly barring major shake ups like a Moncada trade...assuming a 10-25% pullback on payroll if they completely miss the playoffs. (And the Twins also might get Kenta Maeda back off surgery to end the year. Another chess piece yet to come into play.)
  7. That's only bringing MORE attention to Hahn's laundry list of failures. By concentrating them all together in one thread sequestered away from the section of the site with the most page views...it magnifies them somehow.
  8. Prepare for lots of "professional and competitive at bats." Something he was sorely lacking in after this late 2008 rookie year Sox swoon. And more water torture for the fans already suffering enough as is.
  9. 2.65 ERA. 8 k's. The Royals are terrible overall but their offense has been pretty darned good recently. Benintendi is going to be an outfield target for a large number of postseason contenders. Guardians are going to be nipping at Sox heels quite soon with easy peasy schedule in June. At the very least he far outperformed Keuchel.
  10. Adam Haseley 5 3 4 8 Two homers. Now at 801 ops and around .300ish.
  11. 50%+ offer Rodon QO 50%+ don't offer Kimbrel 75%+ don’t offer Leury Harrison Kelly (certainly not two years, and at least check to see if he will be ready for season) 75%+ don’t offer VV 90% try to improve backup catcher 75% want more veteran LH insurance for Sheets
  12. Need to schedule a reggaeton danceoff against Jose Ramirez to decide second place in the Central. No way in hell Moncada misses that opportunity.
  13. Twins’ upcoming June schedule (26 games) After last two (2) against DET @ Toronto Yankees Rays @Mariners @DBacks Guardians Rockies @Guardians (5 game series)
  14. Even all the bench guys are injured/not 100%….so basically Pollock Robert Leury? Ooops forgot DNP Manager’s Decision Moncada. Useless.
  15. If they want to sell any tickets next year they’re going to have to do something besides subtract detritus. Conforto would be a significant risk, but they’re certainly not going to give out one of those Correa deals for $35 million/season with escape clauses included.
  16. Grandal at a .489 ops. Lowest of ALL 165 qualified MLB players. A full 24 points behind #164, Avisail Garcia of the Marlins. #161 Marcus Semien at a robust .540 comparatively. Remember when Brian Anderson’s 575-625 was not enough to hold down CF in 2008? Playing near Gold Glove defense?
  18. Can we force Grandal into retirement like Gil Meche? He can personally coach Mendick's base running...would like to see him first get that upset about his own quality of play, though. It's simply not possible to have that much access to such high quality information and be so wrong 80-85% of the time in free agency and June drafting.
  19. Well it's not like you can trade Robert TA Vaughn Kopech or Cease. Or you're simply burning down your franchise and fanbase simultaneously. If Herm Schneider was still around those guys would all be out there no matter what process/or level of pain they had to undergo. But totally different generation of players now. His methods might lead to a team rebellion today.
  20. Moncada and Robert had to be stars or even superstars for this to work...especially with Eloy out so much and career at a crossroads.
  21. McGuire for Collins did make sense, at least in theory. Zack was definitely in need of a scenery change. Graveman, too. The way things are going Carlos Perez or even Yermin might have to be the spark because they can't afford to get 7-8 games behind. The Twins do finally hit their tough stretch starting this weekend.
  22. https://www.mlb.com/news/starting-pitchers-who-could-move-before-2022-trade-deadline Giolito would be right there in the top 2-3 names...Montas and Luis Castillo. Pretty much have to hold onto Lynn unless he comes out like a house afire.
  23. Well, they're going to end up cutting payroll by at least $25 million if that is the case. Or force themselves to sign one of the Top 3-5 FAs like Correa/Twins to a VERY creative deal.
