Now we have Keuchel/LaRussa Gate. Hahn and/or KW are going to need to get things back under control in Chicago before the clubhouse/chemistry issues start to fester.
-
What is Keuchel saying to LaRussa? You better not be putting that SOB Marshall in to give up all my runs!!! And Hendriks wasn’t used Fri...so now he gets mop up duty today, haha.
-
Sure, that has never been the argument with Engel, it has always been offensive consistency and being able to put up a 675-725 OPS to justify regular playing time. Call it the Brian Anderson Experience.
-
We’re just so fortunate to be in the easiest division. But that also means less pressure on Hahn. Experiments with managers. It’s the issue the Twins and Indians have been facing ever since the 2016 World Series loss to the Cubs. We might be the fifth best team in the AL East...at least without Jimenez and Robert.
-
LOL about Engel clearly being a better player than both Eaton and Vaughn. He’s going to get a shot to prove it, though.
-
We haven’t really faced any good teams yet, other than Boston. Just the Red Sox, Indians’ pitching and Ohtani/Trout talent stand out until this Yankees’ series.
-
We are clearly not the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Astros, Padres...they can much more easily absorb the losses of two key players with payroll, depth and the minor league talent to replenish via trades.
-
Should have been another DP. Even opposing announcers have mistaken notion Madrigal is “so fast,” haha.
-
Cavan Biggio with the extremely rare spine ligament strain...IL bound. Torkelson hit his first minor league/MiLB homer. Yankees’ crew bringing up the 80’s Cards’ with Coleman and McGee...in terms of forcing Hamilton to put the ball up in the air or K. Interestingly, minor league SB numbers are up by around 75% this early season. Compensating for lack of offense...and the need to manufacture runs moreso than in the past due to the extreme K and BB numbers, lack of contact overall.
-
Because not everyone is so well versed on advanced stats...and the White Sox rarely get more than a couple spots. Kevin Cash might prefer to add closers over starters to the ASG pen, etc. Sorry, iPad autocorrect at 2:35 a.m. with work tmrw isn’t being a good enough fan. Heck, half the posters who are normally around are temporarily giving up on this game already.
-
Twins erupted against Plesac, 3-0 early lead now a 5-3 deficit. Of course, we can’t rely on other teams beating the Indians for the rest of the season. Looks like Franmil Reyes will be out at least 2-3 weeks with abdominal strain. Caught a break.
-
It’s definitely at least 50% Yankees’ pitching, if not moreso...it’s not who you play, but when you play ‘em.
-
Ramirez is arguably the MVP with Trout out...so you’re asking Moncada to get by on defense and fan knowledge of the Sox, which isn’t all that great. Plus Moncada would have to best out Abreu, Anderson, Rodon, Lynn, maybe Hendriks, etc.
-
Even without Luis Robert and Engel, White Sox should have enough speed to spare to not be hitting into so many DP’s.
-
Not with the five bigger name 3B piled up in front of him. Urshela (thankfully not with CLE any longer), Chapman, Jose Ramirez, Donaldson, Bregman, etc, Certainly not with just three homers at a traditional power spot.
-
Same...the LaRussa/Yermin-Gate controversy, without 2 of our 6 most entertaining hitters (Moncada, Anderson and Yermin the others, plus Abreu) just isn’t much fun. Grandal walks and Vaughn struggling to not be demoted, Madrigal defense and base running, etc.
-
Game, set, match...almost. Just a long single, like Fenway. Cole, Severino, Kluber...German, Montgomery, Taillon >>> whatever the White Sox can come up with for a playoff rotation. That’s assuming and Kopech are still serviceable at the end of the season. Gleyber Torres hitting clinic this weekend. Thanks, Theo.
-
And the Indians are likely to sweep their way through Detroit next week...unless no-hit Turnbull Monday or an Indians’ TBD start on WED (McKenzie start normally) goes in the right direction. The next start after a no-hitter usually isn’t an easy one. Hentges hasn’t been great, but certainly more solid than Logan Allen in their rotation.
-
I mean consistently against every hitter...other than someone like Madrigal, where it’s reversed. And all the infielders except one to right of second, especially. 2B positioned in short RCF.
-
Yankees’ pitching on just an insane run. Anderson swing through a belt high fastball there...really scuffling. He usually scalds that pitch.
-
See where former Gold Glover Keuchel already did himself no favors... Well, this is the week that’s the first real test, and all the focus will be on TLR with the Cardinals in town and likely a 3 1/2 game lead cut to only 1/2 if Indians’ 3-0 lead against Minny holds up.
-
Shifting....does exist. Started by the Pirates over a decade ago.

Where things stand today (AL-NL imbalance)

https://sports.yahoo.com/real-threats-yankees-al-odds-140004494.html Who are the real AL threats to the Yankees? -
Or the tattoos and doo rag...
-
Engel isn’t even a “real” two-way threat outfielder....well, unless you count a sixty game season with 33% of matchups against KCR and DET pitching.
