5/7: Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City 7:10 PM CDT

White Sox are leading or close to league lead in DRS, a lot of it having to do with Moncada, Robert and Anderson... No Rex Hudler, that’s not a curve, it’s his loopier slider. -

Guess they couldn’t use the classic soundtrack music. Should have had him saying, “I’ll be back!” Or “The White Sox will be back.” -

Abreu from 380 (2020) to 182 against fastballs, battling a finger injury as well. -

Didn’t realize we were dead last in AL homers...after leading with 96 in 60 last year. -

What the hell? Right call, too late. -
Miguel Cabrera, .098 BA and 392 OPS. Speaking of another first ballot HoFer. Yikes. Just hope the Tigers can luck into one win in the series against MIN.

Undoubtedly it’s because I overhyped him and called him potentially the best CFer since Roberto Clemente...if Clemente would have decided to play that position instead of RF. Rape/sexual assault allegations, a NY Knicks’ bathroom/toilet stall with a woman who seemingly was/is a lesbian. Still being adjudicated, more on the civil side than criminal seemingly. -
He should have pulled a Musk and bet Sox capital reserves on Bitcoin, Ethereum or the Doge...all $8 million remaining. Then we could at least afford a legit outfielder for the rest of the season, and at least one veteran if not two for the pen.

SoxTalk is like the WWE recently with all the trash talk and taunting Emojis.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks

Uh oh, another teammate of Madrigal’s...pretty sure Fathom was once a big fan. Kiriloff and Larnach together will at least be interesting. -

Yeah, finally some positive news after a very long and trying week, yet only 1/2 game behind CLE. Twins can beat up on the Tigers this weekend, CLE and Cincy face off in their cross-state rivalry. -

Because he is LHB against RHP, lol...and good SSS numbers against Keller. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIjvOsDnsUt/ Maybe next year it’s this guy....man is Cespedes well-built in the upper body, a cross between Moncada and Robert. -
But they really did up the payroll from 05 to 06. Seems like it almost doubled. Added Javy and Thome, although around $10 million per year was coming from Philly. Starting rotation became the most expensive in baseball. Of course, this all happened after cutting Magglio, C-Lee and Valentin from payroll.

Recover time for minor tears to hip flexors takes around two or three weeks. More significant tears can take up to six weeks, and severe tears can take closer to eight weeks to heal. It’s strange his timeline seems much longer, almost double...especially for such a well-conditioned young athlete. Or maybe they prefer to surprise with his returning earlier than predicted? -

If that’s what the scouts believe, that Trammell won’t hit above low 600s...and that Kelenic’s offense and decent defense (at least in CF) gives you the clear advantage to comprte for a playoff spot this year, it should be more of a no brainer. So then you’re back to the organizational punishment/doghouse argument for not signing the below perceived value extension. "Mariners: Julio Rodríguez, OF (No. 2/MLB No. 5) It took some of us by surprise that the Mariners chose to have Rodríguez start the year in High-A rather than Double-A. But no matter. Look for Rodríguez to use that as more fuel for what already is a huge fire to succeed and hit, mash, rake his way across three levels and up in Seattle, where we’ll finally get to see him play alongside Jarred Kelenic, before the year is over." source: mlb.com -

And my return point is that Trammell, Haniger and Kyle Lewis are the three starters...for now. Which one of those guys would you sit? Perpetual top 30-40 MiLB prospect with untapped potential? Returning AL Rookie of the Year, coming back into form from injury issues or Mitch Haniger? And two of those guys are better CFers, so you’re benching a corner...certainly not playing Kelenic in center. -
Besides injuries, what is the rap on his hitting? Obviously, we watched Luis Robert mash hanging curves and sliders all 2019...but how many of Adolfo’s homers are on plus velocity pitches like he would be seeing in the majors. Just curious why he’s in AA if this is his last year of team control, whereas Burger was jumped to AAA.

"Those options include surgical repair if in fact the tear has affected the tendon's attachment to the bone," Hahn said. "Or a rehabilitation process in which natural healing will take place if the tear is to the muscle, as opposed to the attachment. "The timeline is the same, whether there is surgical intervention or rest and rehabilitation." https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31385268/chicago-white-sox-cf-luis-robert-12-16-weeks-right-hip-flexor-strain -
Then the untapped potential is almost all coming on the offensive end, and power is going to the area most affected by his particular injury, at least in the early stages (this year) of his return. Hopefully back to 100% in 2022.

So end of June for a new timeline... -
They failed to prove that because 2006 was a huge financial success, but didn’t make the playoffs and then 2007/2009/2011-Adam Dunn-Buehrle leaving/Ozzie burning bridges wiped out any lingering positive aftereffects from the WS. Just no consistency from year to year due to the competing on the fly execution or lack thereof.
-
But you can sat the same for guys like Loria, Samson, Donald Sterling, James Dolan, Daniel Snyder, Jerry Jones...it’s more about economics/ supply & demand than any particular tactical or strategic brilliance. Right place, right time.
-
Because he was the best hitter on his high school team (not shocking, I know), played SS and is much closer to that period of his life in baseball than Hendriks at his size trying to sprint anywhere when he was much younger.

Everyone in Seattle org believes they will see Rodriguez within a year...Luis Robert-like progression through minors. They do need to trade Haniger and open up a clear space, because I didn’t mention another top prospect in Taylor Trammell needs to play everyday as well. They’re splitting time four ways with Lewis and Fraley, too. Clearly, Fraley is the spare part. While Haniger is producing/healthy, the best move is to trade him.
