  1. http://www.futuresox.com/2020/02/08/all-about-the-benyamin/ For those not so familiar with him...our last Panamanian was Carlos Lee, pretty sure. Mo Rivera the most famous, of course.
  2. Who’s our James Vanderbeek and Joshua Jackson? No shout outs for Party of Five?

CBA is up...we shall see. It’s the fallback option...until it’s not.
  4. Still way too premature to say that, on both sides. Jimenez was/is almost a generational talent as a hitter. It’s unlikely he sits, especially with the lack of pop we’re currently getting from the outfield.
  5. Part of its frustration over Tauchman, and his relatively low cost...but we actually need a CFer. That said, we might also need a RF, haha. Which goes back to the original frustration over the seemingly premature Eaton move. Which goes back to the failure to develop any of our minor league outfielders. I mean, considering Mercedes or Burger out there is pretty insane.
  6. If Sheets was out there, I guess it would be more exciting but Mendick more often that not makes something positive happen. Almost a poor man’s Eduardo Escobar.

Of course they’re going to treat Kopech differently, their World Series future likely ceases to exist without him. Unless JR shocks the world and offers top dollar to the next Wheeler and actually gets him. The Sox really are better off (assuming they maintain this same mid-market mentality and ownership group) with qualifying offers, ie., 3/$42-50 million range deals. We certainly would be having some buyer’s remorse with Giolito extended for something like 6/$125-140 during the offseason. Likewise, the way all of our starting pitchers have been going takes some of the pressure off Hahn to do something premature there. Just wish they’d find a better Leury replacement.
  9. Or the Dodgers until the blowout tonight still looking like the best team statistically...run differential, etc., but have fallen all the way from +12 to +1 in just two weeks.

But if he could get 3/$42-45 vs. just the one year qualifying offer, Boras would definitely go for that. Something similar to the Eovaldi deal with Boston. If it’s a qualifying offer strategy, no way JR signs off on $37-39 million for those two (Lynn/Rodon) with Kopech coming on. One guy, sure.
  11. Sean Manaea has another no hitter going through seven against TB. They need to bring up Wander Franco, and soon.
  12. And two consecutive games against LHP coming up. Royals have now lost six in a row. Cleveland 1/2 GB, KC suddenly trailing by 1 1/2 after leading for three straight weeks. Indians desperately need another bat after two no hitters. Lindor homered tonight for the Mets, btw.
  13. Must have gotten in on his hands enough...it’s not like Lopez has much punch.
  14. That was an interesting call...at least mixing it up a little bit.
  15. Well, Colome couldn’t quite blow anyone away like that. O’Hearn has some pop, too.
  16. How many catcher’s interference already this year? Soler has done it three times already at the plate.
  17. Indians imploding top of the 9th...error and now balk from Clase surrenders two runs, still runner on second and no outs.
