  1. Well, throwing Crochet into the frying pan worked there...ideally, he starts with a clean inning, though.
  2. Should have just started the inning with Crochet....clean slate, no runners on, Larnach's a lefty, etc.
  3. Who's the next relief pitcher to replace him in Charlotte? Ruiz and Marshall as the bottom of the pen...this is where it would help to have Kopech, instead of "wasting" his innings the other night in a blowout.
  4. Astudillo is the new Ehire Adrianza. Where do they get all these guys? Arraez is basically their MVP...after Buxton. Piranhas, Part II.
  5. 94 MPH fastballs in this day and age won't cut it...unless he keeps them all down in the zone.
  6. Here we go...not many choices, putting Bummer or Crochet in here seems a bit premature. This isn't Game 3 of the ALDS.
  7. Amazingly, Grandal only trailing Madrigal by 31 OPS points. .295 vs. .125 BA's. Looks like Maeda gets at least one hitter if not the whole middle of the line-up for the bottom of the 6th.
  8. It's called the Mark Johnson/Royce Clayton rule. Usually, it's when there are runners on base in front of him...although he's actually coming through a bit more recently, OPS still south of 500 isn't much to praise.
  9. Really good recovery from Cease, battled all night long. BETTER BE FINISHED FOR THE GAME, NONE OF THIS "LET'S SEE IF WE CAN GET HIM AN INDIVIDUAL WIN CRAP"
  10. Not only Tatis, but also Profar and Mateo...doesn't have any actual symptoms, so might be able to avoid missing 8-10 days if he passes all the protocols. No indications of not following league guidelines. https://www.mlb.com/news/fernando-tatis-jr-jurickson-profar-jorge-mateo-on-il
  11. LV Nashville Charlotte/Durham Montreal Portland SLC Mexico City (outside of the box, would be hard to get the union to approve)...if not, somewhere like Juarez or Nuevo Laredo that are on the border/s. Vancouver's too close to Seattle, one would imagine. Indianapolis. Texas already has three teams, but the Austin/Round Rock area has massive growth now. Columbus (maybe, but already CLE and Cincy struggling as smaller market teams) Sacramento Louisville
  12. Cubs, 1st and 2nd, 1 out and down 3-2 against CLE closer Clase in the top of the 9th. High drama.
  13. Appeal or dead to rights? Can't believe he's out at home running with 2 outs on contact. Darn than Arraez.
  14. If nothing else, Maeda will be limited to about 5 innings in this one with the elevated early pitch count (under duress.) SHOULD favor the Sox bullpen.
  15. Do I get a bonus like/smile/laugh emoji for reverse jinxing him, lol?
  16. Might be a good time for Grandal to actually HIT the ball somewhere besides into a weak flyout or 4-6-3 DP.
  17. Well, we knew the Twins weren't just going to quietly lie down and die a noble death. They will go down fighting with Baldelli as their manager. They probably needed this rivalry series to get really hyped up for the first time all season...were just playing in a bit of a malaise.
  18. Karinchak just retired Rizzo to preserve 3-2 lead for Tribe going into the bottom of the 7th, fwiw.
  19. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/todd-frazier-gets-into-ugly-spat-with-media-member-after-being-df-ad-go-grab-another-hot-dog-155027129.html Start the Todd Frazier replacing Lamb reunion tour music... As Chuck Finley took the mound for an April 2002 game against the Chicago White Sox at the then named Comiskey Park, the stadium's musical director, Joe Stephen, took a subtle dig at Finley's messy divorce, and played "Here I Go Again" by the band Whitesnake, referencing Tawny Kitaen's (RIP, this week) appearance in that band's videos and her previous marriage to the band's lead singer, David Coverdale. Stephen was later fired and the White Sox apologized. Never heard that particular Sox story.
  20. Well, Dylan Cease is getting close to meriting his own apology/hype/Cy Young thread. Who is his Jack Parkman/Giolito combo that has consistently stood behind him over the last 2-3 years of struggles?
