  1. This is one of the primary benefits of no fans allowed. We don't have the obligatory, "glad I didn't go to THAT game" or "the White Sox should refund all the ticket buyers' money" (Greg775 refrain). And Byron Buxton could be back Tuesday, Astudillo and Odorizzi coming back soon too, as well. We're missing two of their top ten players this series.
  2. What's the latest on Mazara? Maeda somehow throwing 94 MPH heat. Twins' with yet another smart FA pitching move there. That front office really picked it up after about a five year lull. Odorizzi was a solid move, and Nelson Cruz one of the best signings in recent memory. Rich Hill will undoubtedly replicate Kenny Rogers' 2003 season. (Dodgers in a bit of trouble now with Kershaw out, two starters lost to FA, Price opting out, etc.)
  3. Nelson Cruz is a FA after this year, so there's THAT...
  4. Can Vaughn be converted to LF? Elijah Tatis, lol? Who's the next outfielder up? I guess Gonzalez, right? Rutherford/Basabe/Adolfo? Put Leury out there, with Madrigal or Mendick at 2B? EDIT: Forgot about Adam Engel. SIGH. Of course, he'll be exposed playing everyday in important games.
  5. But he's popular with the female portion of the White Sox fanbase, supposedly...
  6. I was at a Twins/Sox game when that actually happened. Can't remember who started, I think it was Freddy Garcia or Colon.
  7. Well, as Hawk always says, you win 20, you lose 20...this is definitely one of those games. Almost like the Twins are telling the White Sox, "not yet you don't!!!"
  8. Why have the White Sox NEVER added more cushioning out there on those stupid posts on the outfield fence? Might end up with Jimenez on the DL now. SIGH.
  9. Looked up Brandon McCarthy. He's now working in the front office for the Texas Rangers.... Jimenez with the Dayan Viciedo defense out there in LF. Thought Robert was going to cover all that ground? Now Eloy Jimenez is going out...still having problems after running into the wall. Concussion protocol. Disaster.
  10. Well, this game is on the verge of being over already. Might as well walk Cruz here intentionally to prevent the GS. Barry Bonds treatment.
  11. That's a lot to put on a pitcher barely a year out from TJ surgery. Not to mention asking him to work on his secondary stuff on the go in the heat of a pennant race. We really should have added one more quality starter in the offseason, somewhere between Gio and Keuchel in quality/price.
  12. At least Masur has a good voice for radio, there's THAT, I guess.
  13. Was expecting a walk from Avila. Got the 75 mph HBP on the elbow pad.
  14. What random veteran guy are we going to sign now? Bartolo Colon? Might as well begin the process of converting Lopez into a reliever. Still have Lambert, Dunning and Gio...and our draftees, lol. Would be crazy if we have another Chris Sale 2010 situation with Crochet.
  15. Everyone thought Leury being in the line-up on Saturday practically guaranteed a loss... There are only three teams in all of baseball off to 2-0 starts, the Astros, Padres and Cardinals. Only SD over AZ is even a bit of a surprise there.
  16. It’s that hunch thing that Moncada won’t match up well with this style of pitcher. Of course, Robert, Jimenez and Abreu are likely to be susceptible to the same pitches.
  17. Shades of the Ozzie Guillen Sunday line-ups... “Thoughts and prayers for Tom Thibodeau who was named coach of the New York Knicks on Saturday. Good luck Tom, you’re going to need it. Staying in Chicago. Move from Wrigley to the Southside where the White Sox play host to the Twins. Minnesota’s Kenta Maeda throws against Chicago’s Reynaldo Lopez in the rubber game of a three-game set. A Dodger last year, Maeda finished 10-8 for one of the best teams in MLB and will be a key player in determining the Twins’ fate in this shortened season. Lopez finished 10-15 for a mediocre at best White Sox team. Dependable starter always done in by one or two bad innings. Counting on that today. Play 20 units on the Twinkies.“ Nypost.com Picked Keuchel game right, but very wrong going with Yu Darvish...
  18. Maeda 84 pitches his last summer camp start, should be able to go around 90-95. Would take a lot of cojones to bet the White Sox here.
  19. Also, Plandemic/Sinclair will be sponsoring The Lead Off Man on Marquee Network...
  20. Especially considering he would have been receiving the Frick Award in Cooperstown this weekend if it was any other year.
  21. He doesn't have the personality or flamboyance of a Hader, but quite similar stuff.
  22. Nice maturity to shake off the missed third strike call.
  23. Heuer might become the key to solidifying the back end, along with Jace finding a semblance of control.
