Twice...this is becoming like a baseball-wide conspiracy against Moncada. -

Poor Moncada... -
Heard Rush’s fill-in today making fun of that list and Ocasio-Cortez’s knowledge of Middle East economics. Right now, there’s certainly nobody that scares you if you’re Trump. That’s probably a good thing, if he underestimates his opponents, as opposed to taking them quite seriously.

Trump has to be a complete idiot if he thinks the Chinese are trying to devalue their currency intentionally... If it wasn’t for tariffs/threat of tariffs and the US raising interest rates, so much money wouldn’t be flowing into the dollar and yen and away from emerging markets. You can’t complain about trying to prevent inflation (slowing down “Trump’s economy”) and simultaneously whine about all the predictable market reactions around the world. If Trump wouldn’t have gotten into this trade war in the first place, they might have successfully been able to sustain a 4-5% GDP growth rate into 2019 or even 2020 (still, that hot an economy would force rate hikes eventually.) No way they can pull that off with the current uncertainty. As it stands now, the economy’s going to slow down to a standstill in his election year.

Fernando Tatis, Jr. Thread (read/post at your own peril)
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
Does it work on politicians, too? I’ve managed to injure Tatis, Puig, bring back Ohtani from the dead...so far Madrigal hasn’t been affected, lol. -
5/8 so far for Madrigal...seems to be getting out of his late collegiate and AZL “slump” quite nicely.

Fast, you mean? Or you think he should be at 100-102?

Trump is the master of “woe is me-ism/everyone’s out to get me.” But he loves to attack nearly everyone else...just doesn’t react particularly well when it’s turned back on him. It’s the classic mixture of hubris and complete lack of empathy, served up every day.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/19/politics/2020-democrats-rankings/index.html Chris Cilizza put out a list of Top 10 Dem candidates for president and will update every month...a bit surprised Holder and Bullock are so high. Seems to be favoring Warren over Sanders mostly on gender (see Harris and Gilibrand). Still Biden’s pole position to lose at this point. Trump’s already leading with his Crazy Joe attacks.

https://sports.yahoo.com/rep-devin-nunes-spent-15000-campaign-finances-three-celtics-games-174009415.html Nunes spends $15000 of campaign/re-election funds on the Celtics...because, well, the GOP can do whatever the hell it wants. This is why we needed Citizens United so badly.

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/maxine-waters-warns-supporters-possible-armed-protests-against-090504635--abc-news-topstories.html The greatest gift in the world for Trump right now would be for these so-called Oath Keepers (militia group protesting Maxine Waters) to be attacked by BLM or Antifa...except I’m not sure how many on the left are willing to lay down their lives for her in this case.

Don’t see the title “journalist” anywhere near his Wikipedia entry...maybe Rabbit can amend it and see what happens, haha. Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon (born 27 November 1982[3]), known by the pseudonym Tommy Robinson, and previously as Andrew McMaster and Paul Harris,[4]is an English far-right activist[5] who co-founded and served as spokesman and leader of the English Defence League (EDL),[6] from which he resigned in 2013. For a short time in 2012, he was joint party vice-chairman of the British Freedom Party. He led the EDL from 2009 until 8 October 2013. He continued as an activist, and in 2015 became involved with the development of Pegida UK, a British chapter of the German-based Pegida organisation (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West).[7] In May 2018, Robinson was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment for contempt of court after publishing a Facebook Live video of defendants entering a law court, contrary to a court order to prevent reporting those specific trials while proceedings are ongoing.[8]That sentence included activation of an earlier 3 month suspended sentence for a similar earlier contempt of court. He wrote for The Rebel Media and wrote an autobiography, Enemy of the State, and Mohammed's Koran: Why Muslims Kill for Islam, together with Peter McLoughlin.

Well, yeah...no REAL consequences, unless they somehow lose control of the Senate as well. The Founding Fathers seriously underestimated the ability of politicians to care more for themselves than their country. https://www.yahoo.com/news/ronald-reagan-patriot-call-trump-090044618.html “This was right there for everyone to watch for themselves, live on all the channels. And unless you’re one of those 25 percent of Americans who would continue to support Trump even if he ripped off his face to reveal a lizard alien sent from some distant galaxy to subjugate humanity because, you know, even an insatiable carnivorous alien lizard is better than Obama, then what you saw had to leave you a little nauseated. This was Trump presenting a united front with one of the world’s most repressive and deceitful leaders, throwing the men and women who quietly and bravely defend our country under the grinding wheels of a Russian limousine. This was Trump, a disastrous 24 hours later, trying to undo the damage by claiming that when he had said he had no reason to think it would be Russia hacking our computers, what he meant was that he had no reason to think it wouldn’t be Russia.

What are they going to do with Seager and Turner?

Except they never claimed to be “draining the swamp.”

Speed painter Michael Israel, white shirt, poses at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida in front of a painting he made of Trump. Trump spent $20,000 that belonged to his charity — the Donald J. Trump Foundation — to buy the six-foot-tall portrait. (Michael Israel) In 2007, Donald Trump bought a six-foot-tall portrait of himself at a fundraiser auction, and paid with $20,000 from his namesake charity, the Donald J. Trump Foundation. Now, at last, we can see what he got for his money. On Tuesday, artist Michael Israel -- the "speed painter" who painted the portrait of Trump -- released the first public photos of the portrait. Israel painted the piece in just five or six frenetic minutes, during a charity gala at Trump's own Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla. Inside The Post's investigation of Donald Trump's charitable giving(Peter Stevenson, Julio Negron/The Washington Post) Afterward, Israel auctioned the portrait off. Trump's wife Melania won the auction, with a bid of $10,000. Then the auctioneer convinced her to double it. Half of the proceeds went to Israel... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/11/01/this-is-the-portrait-of-himself-that-donald-trump-bought-with-20000-from-his-charity/?utm_term=.2e559dc58579

That said, basically shuttering it after her political viability ended doesn’t exactly line them up with the Carters philanthropically, post-presidency. They’re in their 70’s, but Carter is admirably still at it in his early 90’s. But the CF did a lot in Africa and combined with Gates/UN Millenium Goals...so you could certainly argue MOST of it was legit, at the very least. Still, more about speeches/fundraising than direct action programs, boots on the ground, so to speak. Lots of collaborations, but the quantifiable outcomes are harder to assess from outside.

All foreign governments hedge their bets and make “investments” in both Presidential candidates through various financial means. Been that way since the beginning of time...not changing anytime soon. We can debate the efficacy of the Clinton Foundation’s charitable results just as easily as we can Trump’s shady real estate and banking deals.

And no different than all the foreign delegations staying at Trump’s hotel to curry favor with him. Or this... Donald Trump has blasted Hillary Clinton for accepting money from Saudi Arabia through her foundation, but a Daily News investigation reveals he has padded his bank account with cash from the same country. Trump sold the 45th floor of Trump World Tower to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for $4.5 million in June 2001, according to a city Finance Department spokeswoman. In 2008, the apartments became part of the Saudi Mission to the United Nations, records show. The five apartments included 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms at the time of the sale, and had yearly common charges of $85,585 for building amenities, documents obtained by The News show. If those common charges remain the same, Trump was paid at least $5.7 million by the Saudi government since 2001. ... Saudi Arabia — and I get along great with all of them. They buy apartments from me," Trump said in Mobile, Ala. "They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/exclusive-donald-trump-made-millions-saudi-government-article-1.2777211

Its not the worst thing if the contention window is pushed back one year to 2021, but it does leave a huge issue with both Rodon and Moncada to a lesser extent. Cleveland SHOULD be pretty much dead in the water after two more years, unless that system has more Lindors and Jose Ramirezes in the pipeline (F. Mejia?). Actually, looked it up, Anderson and Moncada are theoretically gone after 2024 and 2023. Not quite lining up like the Cubs with Bryant/Baez/Contreras being together as contenders for 6-7 years, though. So yeah...what to do with Rodon? For now, just stay healthy and hopefully put up a 3.5ish ERA.

Shawon Dunston Javier Baez Sosa was nothing close to a power hitter...it was all projected. He was The Panther and more known for his right arm and defense. Juan Gonzalez was the one everyone in the Rangers’ organization was looking at as a .300/30+/100 RBI guy. And Sosa’s walk rates were abysmal. Like Uribe, breaking balls off the plate when down in the count killed him.

But the Democratic Party was for slavery and then segregation during Reconstruction. It was the Republicans who freed the slaves. That was the wisdom of a conservative talk show host on WOC 1420 in the Quad Cities on the topic of Trump/Russia tonight. Oh, and Antifa/BLM are both terrorist groups.

Why? This is about Nelson Mandela and apartheid...the quotes aren’t even accurate or are completely taken out of context. He’s talking about African leaders in South Africa not automatically discounting the opinions of whites (the huge minority in that country.)
