  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) Jennings is officially out of my doghouse. I commend you, Mr. Jennings. Sorry for blasting you in the past. You sir, earned my applause and admiration tonight. He's done that a handful of times this season. No reason he can't be better than Duke overall.
  2. Gee is a long man, spot starter... Houston with the gift rainout after trailing at Minnesota 5-0 early. They still need a ton of help, though. Tigers could tie Boston, if they don't blow two leads again (sounds familiar).
  3. Robertson/catchers/Cooper way too predictable this year. Double the walk rate obviously hasn't helped...and his stuff just isn't nearly as crisp as earlier in the season. Overuse? Hahn should have foreseen that...obviously it claimed Albers as well. Rodon not pitching deep into games hasn't helped much either, Erik Johnson, Ranaudo, Shields, Turner, lack of offdays early, etc.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) It isn't necessarily the performance this year. Now that they are out of it, they can use the time to break in these players to the MLB. That way if they are in the race and need help you don't have a star struck kid that wets his pants for a few games and costs the team wins when they count. When you developing young players, it isn't always about the immediate performance. It's more about the long term progression of the player. Sure...if they're actually ready to be promoted. Anderson is still hanging in there, but Fulmer has looked completely lost.
  5. Bumped...another "double blown save" game. And someone's going to trade for him this offseason, and give up prospects to boot?
  6. 24 walks already this year for Robertson versus 13 for all of 2015...yikes.
  7. Two big plays by Anderson in the last few innings to erase part of a terrible game up to that point...
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Sit him tomorrow against Duffy. Hope he winds up over .225 by season's end. Anderson's a pretty good fastball hitter. He's only sat twice since coming up about two months ago.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) run support blows more... For Q, that's 100% true since the beginning of 2012. And it's not even close. For that reason alone, he's probably the pitcher who gets dealt in the offseason.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 09:02 PM) At home, where he has been all season So who is supposedly in charge of baserunning this year?
  11. Can it get worse with Burdi in September? Guess we'll find out.
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) Well he does, doesn't he? Have you seen White Sox baseball this past decade? Come to a different conclusion on the guy and let us know how you got to it. Be very interesting to see what you have to say on his record. If the Cubs actually win the World Series, that 2005 card will get harder and harder to play. It's not like anyone is going to games anymore because of something that happened 11 years ago.
  13. 22 blown saves. All alone in first now. Can't close out any games against KC it seems. What new? Might as well finish in the bottom ten so we can argue all offseason about Hahn protecting the pick when we're supposedly in win now mode again. We can't even deal Morneau because it will be blocked.
  14. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/...nded/order/true Leading the majors in blown saves...not just AL.
  15. Does Hahn at least get credit for Orlando's throw (Sox prospect at one point) or blamed for Narvaez's poor silde and/or decision to send him by McEwing? And Tim Anderson really seems to be hitting a wall...hopefully he gets a second wind soon.
  16. Yeah....why he's not getting more time makes little sense. Like playing Alexei so much last year down the stretch.
  17. Expecting Sox fans to blindly support the current product with the Olympics, Cubs, preseason football soaking up attention...good luck. It would be one thing if we had high scoring offensive teams like 2000-2004, 2006, 2008, etc.
  18. They'll likely give the job to Jones first based on their past history of going to veterans before turning to a rookie. Jenks was pretty much a no brainer adter Takatsu got figured out and Hermanson faded in 2005. On the other hand, thry gave Reed a lot of rope in 2012. At any rate, they won't just give the job to Burdi without Jones failing first imo.
  19. Anderson needs to get that K percentage down from near 30 to the low 20s...watch Eaton more. He gets a ton of infield hits just making contact to the LH side of the field.
  20. Four of last five save opportunities blown (by the bullpen overall)...now leading the entire AL with 21 blown saves. Bring on Burdi. At the very least, DFA Albers and let Kahnle, Ynoa and Turner give it a try. Ranaudo too, why not...
  21. The return for Lawrie will give you the equivalent of a Hellickson or Miguel Gonzalez. At any rate, he's not worth any more now than a year ago. And the only reason to do that is if you're supremely confident in Saladino being an everyday 2b.
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) You do know that the 3 year thing was nonsense, right? Doesn't really need to be mentioned anymore Fine, but which of those players will the Sox realistically give four or five years to in your opinion? Other than Dunn, who turned out wonderfully, who is the last Sox player signed by the Sox for more than three years at age 30+ (see Cabrera for three and LaRoche for two)? Robertson was 29 and turned 30 the opening week of the 2015 season. Encarnacion or Ramos?
