Sox linked to Patrick Wisdom
"Patrick Wisdom will be playing for KBO’s Kia Tigers in 2025. This is, I think, a great landing spot for Wisdom, who turned 33 in August. He ought to hit quite a few home runs in Korea, and will probably make more money than he would have in MLB in 2025. He’s got a friendly personality and could very well become a fan favorite over there. Wisdom hit 84 home runs in a Cubs uniform, which is tied for 37th on the all-time Cubs list with Ron Cey and Moose Moryn. He hit 28 in just 106 games in 2021, setting a single-season record for Cubs rookies and finishing fourth in NL Rookie of the Year voting. In the summer of 2022, Wisdom hit a couple of colossal home runs to Waveland Avenue. Here’s some analysis of those distances. He always had that sort of prodigious power, but could never hit for a high enough BA or cut down on the strikeouts enough to stay as an everyday regular. Kind of a poor man’s Mark Reynolds." bleedcubbieblue.com Trying to sell a handful of tickets to Cubs' fans that can no longer afford to attend games at Wrigley?

At least A's only two seasons away from a brand new stadium in a "vibrant" city...instead of morbidly counting down with a death march.

Can they really take Alabama over Miami and ND after this lackluster result? Miami beat ND, and the best win for ND was over USC. Bama has a boatload of Top 25 wins and are going to be penalized for getting an extra game compared to A&M Miss OU, etc. Duke/VA still on tap...could bring JMU into play as well. https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/georgia-annihilates-alabama-in-sec-championship-possibly-knocking-tide-out-of-cfp-entirely-002357320.html "With one 28-7 victory, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart rewrote the entire narrative surrounding himself and Alabama. Holding a woeful 1-7 record against the Tide coming into Saturday, Smart deployed a combination of speed, deception, trickery and flat-out bust-your-face football to not just beat Alabama, but humiliate them, too. This is the kind of win that galvanizes a program for the rest of the year, the kind of loss that leaves scars that last across seasons."

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
Jays probably headed for a $300 million payroll... "It has already been a busy offseason for the Blue Jays, who have signed Ponce and Dylan Cease to multi-year contracts, and Shane Bieber is also staying in the rotation after declining to opt out of the final year of his deal. This puts the Jays in line for approximately a $267.9MM payroll and a $282.5MM luxury tax number (projections courtesy of RosterResource), and this is before Toronto addresses its lineup or bullpen needs heading into the 2026 campaign." mlbtraderumors.com

Blue Jays are also looking to trade Jose Berrios. Getz won't be answering that particular phone call.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
We'll see how accurate the $22 million figure is... Five years? Think most teams would much prefer four, but five sounds about right as an over pay with that final year written off. Predictions from mlbtraderumors 15. Zac Gallen, SP: four years, $80MM Tim: Diamondbacks / Anthony: Angels / Darragh: Giants / Steve: Giants

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/47201350/mlb-winter-meetings-2025-offseason-free-agency-trade-intel-rumors-updates-buster-olney-jeff-passan Battle between Phillies and everyone else over Schwarber is the biggest story to watch as Tucker remains on the backburner. Olney: Cedric Mullins' choice to sign for a one-year, $7 million, with the Tampa Bay Rays could be a warning sign for this free agent class. Mullins was not a perfect free agent by any measure, after his struggles with the Mets, but the rapidity with which he agreed to a deal could reflect the general feeling that this market could play out like a game of musical chairs -- if you've got offers in hand, it'd be best to move fast and grab a spot (and money). Jorge Polanco could be among those who sign sooner rather than later -- he's coveted by the Mariners and some other teams. Harrison Bader set himself up well with a strong performance in Philadelphia. Olney: It makes sense for teams that have trade candidates under team control into 2027 to weigh offers now because they might struggle to get proper value for those players next July, given the labor uncertainty after the season. That means players such as Mackenzie Gore of the Nationals -- and Paul Toboni, Washington's president of baseball operations, said in a "Baseball Tonight" podcast interview Wednesday that he has talked with Gore about hearing his name in trade rumors -- and Stephen Kwan of the Guardians. Ketel Marte, E.Cabrera/Alcantara, B.Lowe, B.Donovan other big names on the early trade market. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/11/2025-26-top-50-mlb-free-agents-with-predictions.html&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiH8bOFwqmRAxXAOkQIHb-ZBDUQFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw3afcNg9nzLp1Y3r1c9a_YV

Matt Campbell to Penn State. Not quite at his peak value, but happy to see him go from an Iowa perspective. Let's see if he can adapt to recruiting on the biggest stage in an area outside of his comfort zone. Definitely has the personality/charisma/leadership boxes checked off. https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/sources-penn-state-hires-iowa-state-head-coach-matt-campbell-173934274.html

2019-20 was the last really exciting offseason...unfortunately, they ended up with Keuchel instead of a better/younger pitcher. Also, Encarnacion turned into a similar bust, and Grandal pretty much fell apart after 2021.

Tigers To Sign Drew Anderson December 5th, 2025 at 5:40pm CST • By Darragh McDonald The Tigers and right-hander Drew Anderson have agreed to a deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. It’s a one-year pact with a club option for 2027. The salary figures haven’t yet been publicly reported. Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports that the Tigers expect the righty to be a starter, as he has been doing in Korea for the past couple of years. The Tigers have a 40-man vacancy and won’t need to make a corresponding move.- Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Foster Griffin, another pitcher coming back from Asia. Former Royals' #1 pick, will land somewhere between Ponce and Kay on the salary scale. https://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/chicago-cubs-trade-free-agent-rumors-ideas/201899/cubs-free-agent-target-foster-griffin- 2025-26 NFL Season Thread
Jayden Reed and Watson add some needed variety to that offense...but Kraft injury has taken out the fulcrum.- Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Thought we didn't help out divisional rivals? Doesn't say what KC would be willing to give up. Probably Bergert OR Kolek. Knowing their fixation for overhyped utility players, probably India instead. Btw Baty has four more years of control, through 2029. Service Time 2.088 MiLB Options 1 Free Agent 2030 Arb Eligible 2027- White Sox sign Anthony Kay to 2Y/12M deal
Does he now possess the requisite velo for that matter?- Manfred legacy...
Bigger bases and fewer/limited throwovers has led to more action on the base paths as well. WBC in general keeps getting bigger and bigger. Huge increase in NPB players has led to record tv viewership in Japan (that almost eclipses the US at 40% of population) with majority "breakfast time" games.- $$$$$$Money
