Fathom, I guess your wife must be really tolerant about watching so much sports, haha... My wife always throws a fit when I wake her up because the weekend game times or M/W/TH day games always start between 2-5 a.m. here in China. If I ever get married again, I HAVE to find a cool/girl next door sports addict type who looks and acts like Jennifer Lawrence, lol.

Curry going all Buddy Hield on the Blazers right now. LeBron and J4L don't stand a chance. Nor does OKC/SA.
-
Does Delmonico have a realistic chance at any position other than 1B/DH? He started as a 3B, right?

Greg, it's about all public relations. In the US, it's a politically-loaded question, and PayPal wants to take no position or take the side that will cost it the least amount of transactions. In a country like Iran, those types of Sharia laws on the books just don't cause an eyebrow to be raised. If you're realistically expecting protests against world government policies OUTSIDE the US, well, China would never sell a product outside of China NOR would any of our multinationals locate their plants/parts manufacturing & assembly/logistics facilities here. Nobody would buy an I-phone or a pair of Nike shoes, etc.

Chris Young, a crafty and fierce veteran, has allowed 13 homers in 32 1/3 innings this season. On Monday, he faced 14 batters and surrendered five solo shots, including two by former Royal Carlos Beltran, a 39-year-old who entered Monday batting just .236 this season. The homer assault represented all of the damage Young allowed in 2 2/3 innings. It was enough to ensure that the Royals continued their precipitous fall, even after solo homers from Alex Gordon and Eric Hosmer, who went deep for the sixth time this season. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2016/5/9/11641...ight-now-ranked The most interesting name from this list (assuming we're moving off the replacing Avi bandwagon temporarily) is James Shields (before you stop reading, make sure to pay attention to the argument in the original column)...how they could/would get him to opt-out of his contract at the end of the season, no idea why that would be in his best interest unless he was so desperate to pitch for a contending team again he agreed to a buyout from the Padres so he could finish this year elsewhere and go back out on the market again. Guess it just depends on how much he believes he has left in the tank and how willing he and his agent are to surrender the final two years on that terrible contract. I guess stranger things have happened in baseball, although I can't recall many like this hypothetical. Lucroy would just be too expensive.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/columnis...usmus/84143238/ Detroit writers calling for the dismantling of the Tigers and a start to the rebuilding process. Would be glad to take Zimmerman, Victor or JD Martinez off their hands. Ian Kinsler would be in high demand as well. That said, it's unlikely they'll ask for "fair/market" value even if Illitch decides to order Avila to do it.

Saladino deserves a chance to play 4-5 times per week and see if he can get into an offensive rhythm. That said, baseball managers are almost always going to stick with their "winning hand" and not want to change things up too much with the starting line-up if it's working overall.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Does Robertson earn two blown saves in this one? Kind of concerning to see his fastball topping out at 91....hope it's just fatigue. Fantastic win. It wasn't always pretty but these guys came through once again. Really happy to see Gonzalez have a solid start....would be ideal for us to fill that hole in-house. Avi still raking. This team is on a mission. Just one official blown save. He now has two, some would argue three and others would argue if not for poor White Sox defense behind him, he might just as easily have zero.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) So is he now Happy Frazier ? Does this mean we're now stuck with the FlavaFraz nickname? I guess that does set up a guest appearance for the real Flav at a White Sox game. Why not?

That's actually six consecutive victories against the Rangers...dating back to last year. Btw, Rodon pitched very well against Texas last year, Derek Holland gave up 11 runs in his last start and Aroldis Chapman is back with the Yankees again...just in time for us to face them this weekend (actually, the Royals got him first.)

Can we change the Sox winner title to "Holding Out for A Hero" or something similar with "HERO" in the title? How about "My Kind of Town" or a Sinatra theme? Or "SUCK THIS, LAZ DIAZ!!!" Also, Melky Cabrera, please don't get thrown out of a tight game like that again...left-handed bats are precious in our line-up, not to mention "average" or fairly competent defensive play in LF.

The big blow happened at 10:49 or 10:50 CST. I'd just gotten so frustrated with Rollins, Robertson and Sands that I decided to go to lunch at KFC and follow the game on my mobile phone. All I was thinking was...don't hit into a home to first double play...and then the little green dot on the screen kept carrying out to LF down the line and I saw the 8 spot come up on the board and knew that we'd finally crushed the spirit of the Rangers. Hanging slider on the outside and low part of the plate. The most excited I've been about White Sox baseball since the 2005/06 teams and 2008 before Quentin got hurt. This team just has a resiliency that we haven't seen from past teams that would give up and get down on themselves after essentially two blown saves in a row, missed bunts/poor execution, terrible defense from Sands in LF and even a rare ball in RF on Odor's triple that Eaton got turned around on. Some great at-bats by guys at the bottom of the order tonight. Jackson's safety squeeze was a thing of beauty and made the Rangers look foolish. Jennings somehow escaped that 1st and 3rd, one out situation with the play of the game...rare double play ball with the infield drawn in (especially on that rock hard Texas infield). White Sox now 22-1 in starts by Sale/Quintana/Latos/Gonzalez. Up 6 games on the Indians, 7 games on the Royals and 8 games on the Tigers. Baseball is fun again. The best part of the game is we learned that Jerry Sands doesn't belong on the roster, that Rollins needs to spend more time on the bench or at least be moved down in the order, that Robertson isn't quite "elite/elite" despite his peripherals and that Jennings can get out of a tough situation. Also, more impressive work from Matt Albers. He's been unexpectedly great, like Putnam a couple of years ago...with the key difference being these games are all important ones.

There's a shocking development. Maybe the White Sox actually will win this game... Cesar Ramos now into the game for the Rangers. -

GREAT... Well, the only thing to be said is it's nice to be really upset about a White Sox game for the first time maybe since 2012. -

Freaking walks when pitchers are up in the count are killing them tonight. Geez. You'd think Fielder was on a tear like Odor, Beltre and Mazara coming into this game the way they're treating him. -

Guess we had exams at my school at that time...but thanks for everyone clarifying that we've already played the Rangers, haha. -

Well, if we're going to blow through our entire bullpen, we might as well win it. Something about Rodon and Latos facing this line-up the next two games screams call to the pen early. -

Demoralizing. Man, this potential loss is going to take awhile to get over. -

You just can't do that when you have him down 0-2 in the count to start. Hawk's going to have a heart attack before this one is over. -

Chance to atone for Rollins here...those runs would help everyone breathe a lot easier.
