  1. Brilliant strategy. If all the focus is development and international...that buys you at least five years before you need to show any tangible results lol. He wasn't exactly a peanut vendor...but no other teams were seeking him out for their GM jobs. Yet he didn't even need to interview with JR. If I had that opportunity as owner, I?would get 8-10 potential plans for the future through that process instead of putting all my eggs in one internally siloed bucket.
  2. Tigers were at just under 80% to make the postseason entering today. Probably closer to 75% with Houston up 9-0. Starting a rookie today in Melton against another rookie in Messick. Does Hinch get fired if they miss out on the postseason?
  3. Pretty sure at least 120 or so...hasn't missed many games overall, so huge debate whether to play for 1/2 seed vs. resting him from here on out. Then there's the implications for his personal HR chases as well.
  4. That's not even a sure thing. Houston finally winning today...then a trip to LAA, who would simply love to play spoiler against their hated rivals.
  5. Team Birmingham Ironic, in that only Antonacci Bergolla Hagen and a couple of relievers will likely even see the majors from this team. It's a successful minor league team...but will this help lead to success in the majors? The jury's still out. Maybe Nishida is another Meidroth...but that's not even likely.
  6. Excuse of potential labor uncertainty...will probably cite Covid financial losses just like the Twins do to their fans. Sell. Or do something proactive to fix your messes.
  7. He surely articulated a lower budget and successful vision of the organization to JR for why KW and Hahn should both be pushed out. No excuses now for being unable to succeed within those parameters. It's not like he promised to win with a $100-125 million payroll. And Quero, Crochet and Colson Montgomery all came to him thanks to Hahn.
  8. Barely survived ... that won't work in the postseason, though. AZ only has their top of the lineup that can really hurt you.
  9. Seattle Detroit Cleveland Milwaukee San Diego Cincy AZ...all small or mid market teams competing in the final week of the season. It's not rocket science here.
  10. Except Perez missed four months, injured twice...and Houser eventually led to Mead, who has been a net negative due to his lack of power at the corners. Fedde turned into a 1+ fWAR Vargas, but he still needs to be a 2-2.5 war infielder to provide any real value to a playoff caliber team.
  11. Mets +4 Reds DBacks +2 McCarthy was the key out...had to win it there.
  12. Luxury of having a Top 100 MiLB starting prospect in pen ... lefty that throws high 90s and has off speed stuff to go with it.
  13. Tawa useless Crazy bounce.
  14. Has worked out well for Roberts to test that bullpen tonight...that's for sure.
  15. Edman again near the postseason lol
  16. https://www.linkedin.com/in/allen-thomas-b97b5611 Maybe not... Justin Wrobleski one of six Dodgers lefties lol #1/2 starter on White Sox
  17. Does Alek Thomas' dad still have a job in baseball after getting fired by the Sox?
  18. to the 11th Toronto NYY +22 Mariners +20 CLE Toronto/NY Red Sox +16 Detroit/Houston +12/+10
  19. Funny how J.Naylor and he switched roles and both could be in postseason...along with Guardians. Therefore Sox need to sign Josh Naylor haha.
  20. Carroll a great all-around outfielder. He's out for sure. MVP talents all around the field in this one. Marte should finish Top 10 as well.
  21. Clearly low when it crossed the plate. At any rate, some free baseball. Fun day except for White Sox and Mets not getting more pressured.
  22. Crazy they will have like 4-5 lefties Kershaw Scott Banda and Vesia Dreyer?
  23. Letting everyone come for free admission is something Bill Veeck would do in this situation...ðŸĪŠ
  24. Always happens when catchers can't handle a pitch. 25 missed strike/ball calls SD/Milwaukee the other day. LA going to have to use Dreyer Scott Treinen....or Kershaw warning. Wow.
  25. Bounces are going DBacks way just like CLE.
