  1. 10 in a row retired by Anderson. Need a bloop and a blast late. Doesn't feel like we have a chance to manufacture any runs these days...or execute with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs.
  2. Quality start for Johnson but offense struggling to put together a big inning against Anderson. 7 in a row retired. At the very least, Erik prevented the bullpen from totally getting blown up.
  3. Well, he didn't walk Davis. Pretty shocked he was swinging on 3-0, but Francona knows how to trust his veterans. More two-out runs there.
  4. This is where EJ kills you. Gets tentative with Rajai Davis and brings up Kipnis to the plate where he can put up a crooked number.
  5. Did Johnson just strike out Martinez with a ball right out over the heart of the plate? How?
  6. Gimenez came up with the White Sox, right? I think he went to SD, then maybe Texas?
  7. Well at least it's a fast-moving game so far. Jinx. Indians with the advantage having most of their bullpen pieces intact.
  8. Lawrie really piling up the K's but it's a worthwhile tradeoff if he can hit 20-25 homers and bring that type of energy and passion to the field and dugout.
  9. Juan Uribe got a very nice ovation coming back to Chicago, good to see from our fans. He was really beloved in that clubhouse, especially by Buehrle. Will never forget 2004 .400 hitting Juan, along with the dive down the 3B line stands and the final play of the game, barely nipping Orlando Palmeiro on that bounding ball up the middle. For J4L Nick Camino@NickCaminoWTAM My 62-year-old mother, who knows zero about sports on the phone now: "It looks like we're standing still. Kevin Love can't make anything."
  10. Knew this inning was going to be super tough to emerge from unscathed... One out at least. Hope they hit it at the fielders.
  11. Over a full season, Abreu's still on pace for 22ish homers and 100+ RBI's but it feels like he should have about 40 RBI's instead of 28. The homer robbed by Springer didn't help matters, either. That's always frustrating.
  12. Abreu can't buy a hit with RISP. We're 5/14 vs. Anderson so far but only one run to show for it due to the propensity to wait until we've given up a couple of outs each inning.
  13. Ramirez and Martinez are playing all over the field today. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not...Cabrera Mr. Clutch for the Sox.
  14. That's more like it. Frazier on a tear now.
  15. So Putnam and Jennings are the first two in tonight? Who else can we throw? Can't even keep track of who's down there. Purke is down? Kahnle? Brandon Guyer a triple short of the cycle (I think). Alex Gordon out with a fractured wrist. That's two consecutive injury-plagued years for him. RHBers at .373 in 70 appearances against Anderson. Wow, that's bad. It's not like he has bad stuff, either.
  16. Who was the last White Sox 2B to hit 20 homers? Did Ray Durham ever do that? Seems he was usually around 12-18, maybe later on with the A's he started trying to hit more homers as his speed decreased. And when was the last time Avi Garcia hit 8th? Seems Ventura or Steverson are attempting to send some sort of message this week, not sure if it's registering or not. Giancarlo Stanton, mired in a terrible slump in May, has swung and missed on 40.4 percent of swings on the season. In our database going back to 2009, that's the highest rate for a regular player. Even Mark Reynolds (Dayan Viciedo, Gordon Beckham and Avi Garcia) hasn't hit that percentage. ESPN/Schoenfield
  17. Johnson pitching tentatively again. Always happens whenever he gets hit. Throwing his typical 88-90 MPH fastballs and 83 MPH slider, just don't have enough of a MPH difference to keep hitters off either of those pitches. Better off throwing more curveballs, IMO. Hope it rains for 3-4 hours and wipes out that 6-2 Royals lead in Minnesota, probably won't happen. Poor Twins. Asking price for Nolasco has to involve sending money along with AND receiving a C prospect just to sell it to the fans.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:22 PM) I blame Ventura for this win The only thing we were missing were appearances by Scott Carroll and Jose Paniagua.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:22 PM) With gas can Johnson pitching absolutely You might want to refer to Cody Anderson's pitching line this season. It's horrific.
  20. My god, that was nail biting. I don't even think I can stand to watch the second game, lol. It won't start until about 805. Long night. Austin Jackson's the hero/anti-hero with the bases loaded walk. Latos now 6-1, somehow. 12 saves for Robertson.
  21. That was a ball, wasn't it???
  22. Felt there was almost ZERO doubt it was coming down to this situation after the last three innings offensively for the White Sox.
  23. Guarantee Santana comes up unless they can get a DP ball...Davis might be stealing.
  24. Gee, why is a leadoff walk here NOT surprising?
  25. Why isn't Sanchez at least putting some pressure on the pitcher by taking a couple of pitches? So that's 8 baserunners left on in the last 3 innings, lol....
