  1. This is a situation where you need a better threat than Carlos Sanchez available. Then again, at least he makes contact. Not sure I'd want to see Sands or Avi Garcia up here. Saladino also strikes out quite a bit, but he's been hot recently. Well, thankfully Robertson gets the bottom of the order.
  2. Hey, Abreu actually hit an inside 96 MPH fastball.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 23, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) The last game where everything went right for us was the first game against the Yankees. Recently, one thing or another screws us over in games. It might be the bullpen in this game. Sale's game last Thursday wasn't too bad, either. Just that one pitch to Gattis.
  4. They don't need 2-3 relievers, but they do need for Petricka to come back and replace Albers effectively or to replace him with someone else entirely. Duke's another question mark. Jennings might have to flip flop with him, but Duke just usually doesn't go 5-6 batters in a game.
  5. Yeah, you can't use Albers against the heart of that line-up and two runners on already. Starting out the inning, maybe. Just that stupid, "well, it's a four run lead so we're going to use Nate Jones when we really need him" thinking that's textbook but not really fully aware of the game situation as well as Albers' completely lack of effectiveness/confidence recently.
  6. Thank god that's over. Went from a complete blow out if we would have executed to having to put David Robertson in for a four-out save situation and wipe him out the second game.
  7. There was just no reason to have to blow through both Nate Jones and David Robertson in this game.
  8. Why was Nate Jones not in there? Ramirez and any major league hitter's going to time 10 center-cut pitches over the heart of the plate. Ridiculous. Albers just doesn't have the ability to put away hitters right now. Now he freaking brings in Nate Jones. And you have to try to throw a breaking pitch if you're Albers. You can't just throw fastball after fastball unless you're Aroldis Chapman.
  9. Can't let Gomes come up as the tying run here. You've got to be kidding....this game HAS TO BE WON.
  10. Can't let Gomes come up as the tying run here.
  11. Can't let Gomes come up as the tying run here.
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 23, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) how many innings is the pen gonna have to cover after they go to extra innings? f***ing stupid managing. Twice now he's tried to just PRAY and wing it and hope his reliever can go a 2nd inning. YOU DON'T MANAGE ON HOPE Sounds like a part of the 1992 presidential election oppo research, lol. Okay, so far the damage is contained. Keep it to just one. Keep the ball down down down.
  13. Can't believe that didn't score two runs. One bullet dodged.
  14. So we're not using Jones because the lead is four runs instead of 3 or less? WTF?
  15. I said you had to leave him in to get out two lefties, but I just couldn't fathom him letting BOTH of them reach base. And it does seem like eons since he's had to pitch to five batters. Putting Jones in there was probably the best play...because Albers doesn't have the stuff to dominate right now.
  16. Gee, can't see Jones or Albers giving up a bomb here. This bullpen...
  17. You've gotta to be kidding. Another 3-1 count. JESUS CHRIST.
  18. I think Duke is my least favorite Hahn signing simply because it was just too cute...based on that one season of success for the Brewers.
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 23, 2016 -> 05:32 PM) Albers time? Against Santana and Kipnis? Sounds suicidal.
  20. Harrelson would be so pissed if the White Sox provided a "self-inflicted" run like the Indians just did. Should be 100% GAME OVER but at least that walk took a BIT of the sting out of it. Doesn't feel like a battle of first place teams, that's for sure. The second game might even be more AAA-esque.
  21. Two Austins. Both have the last name of former presidents. Not sure that's happened in MLB history. Jackson, Lawrie and Avila have single-handedly moved us up to near the Top Ten in OBP. That's definitely new.
  22. There's just no way the Indians go down easily the next two innings if Jackson doesn't get a big hit here. It's baseball karma. Especially when you had the first two hitters reach by errors and they're TRYING to give you runs...if nothing else, we would have been able to preserve Robertson for use in a possible save situation in the second game.
  23. This is become a Tuesday night in Arlington debacle if they somehow blow this lead after the last two innings. Jackson has a chance to go 4 for 4. Inning still on life support.
  24. At least Abreu did his job there, moved the runner into 3rd. Soxtalk meltdown if we don't score 2 runs here in...
