http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/b...15/seasontype/2 We just passed two teams for runs scored per game, and are neck and neck for 27th with the Phillies. YAY! The Cubs are only about 30 runs ahead. 3.57 RPG

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) 33 pitches to close out a game you have a 3 run lead in. Which means there's pretty much no way you can bring him back tomorrow except for a single batter or two. And now Petricka was extended as well. Someone's going to have to step up tomorrow, either the offense or Samardzija. 19-12 last 31, 9-2/1-6/5-0 (15-8 sounds better!) This means flavum's projected records are about to start appearing again, haha. -

Why are we paying Robertson this much money again? It's almost like he forgot he was once successful with the Yankees against the Red Sox. Yikes. -

Jesus Flowers, not a single curveball. That's beyond idiotic considering how many of them you've watched DeAza miss during his White Sox career. Greg single-handedly jinxed Flowers back into the game outcome in a negative fashion. Of course Robertson could have waved him off and thrown the knuckle curve at least once. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) The #Dodgers have let teams know that Yasiel Puig is available in the right deal, but teams showing much more interest in their prospects. https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/625860527265157120 He's actually one of the few position players who fits in the here and now...and is on the right side of age 30, perhaps most importantly. Of course, the argument will be that "we don't want to mess with our team chemistry right now" and they'll end up making no decision and wavering, which is essentially the same thing as making a decision. If Josh Paul taking Mark Johnson's place on the 2000 playoff roster could have such a dramatic effect, one could only wonder what Puig would do. Hopefully more 52-9 or 2014 than 2015. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) If you take Sanchez' D and extrapolate his offense during last 11 games over a 16 year career we are talking one of best 2b ever?!? Bill Mazeroski-esque. Omar Vizquel of 2B. -

The length of this game thread for a team that's fighting to be 3 games under .500 on July 27th tells you that there's plenty of White Sox fans left...you just have to engage them. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) How was Danks today big guy? Not even Bob Dole thinks Tyler Flowers is okay. The Red Sox radio guys started off the broadcast saying he was entering tonight in a 1 for 26 slump and that it was one of the many positions the White Sox would love to upgrade offensively. Luckily, LaRoche wasn't in the line-up to get targeted. Btw, did Hanley Ramirez manage to also misplay that one, or it was a double all the way? -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:44 PM) Two years & $37M is ungodly? Obviously it's no steal financially, but that might help limit the cost in terms of prospects. If he had proven the ability to hit well in the AL Interleague games away from Coors, hadn't had so many injuries and was a plus defensive player (and wasn't changing leagues), then sure, why not? What's his DRS for the season? -

15:$16M, 16:$17M, 17:$20M award bonuses: $25,000 each for Gold Glove, All-Star selection. $50,000 for Silver Slugger. $75,000 for LCS MVP. $0.1M each for MVP, WS MVP $1M assignment bonus if traded If we did trade for Carlos Gonzalez, it would be essentially the same thing as another another Melky Cabrera contract. $42.3 million, more or less. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) If you get CarGo, then Avi's probably in the deal Are we seriously going to take on that ungodly contract? Is Manny Ramirez still available? A CarGo deal would have KW's fingerprints all over it. It would also force the White Sox to admit Garcia's not living up to his earlier promise. -

The funny thing is going to be if Detroit dumps all their guys in the next 3-4 days and Dombrowski rebuilds a competitive team again for 2016 while we sit on Samardzija and take the compensation pick. How much money would Boston have to eat if they tried to deal Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez right now? Jesus. -

Where's our Takatsu? Can't believe it's 10 years later. He didn't come back for the 2005 reunion, did he? For whatever reason, the Red Sox have had quite a bit of success with Japanese relievers, if you're willing to throw out the Dice-K Matsuzaka disaster. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Just started watching, so Saladino cost us two runs? Only one run was unearned. Was that the play he fumbled where the runner was scoring but he could have had the out at 1st and probably 2nd? What was the second error (I was coaching Chinese students to recite the Gettysburg Address, haha)? -

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) This has to be one of the biggest game threads in a long time. Get even close to competing and the White Sox fans will be there. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case as they've been sleep walking through most of the season and causing record numbers to tune out. -

Huge run there from Adam Eaton. Attaboy. Tigers are really going to regret not trading Price, Cespedes, Soria, Rajai Davis, Soria, etc. Dealing those guys is practically the only way for them to compete next season unless they're going to spend $250 million again on FA contracts. Heck, Price might be close to $200 million by himself.
