  1. I wonder if LaRussa would leave the DBacks job....kind of a no-win situation to come back to Chicago, but he supposedly misses managing a lot. Gardenhire would be an obvious in-season choice. I'd almost take Ozzie, this team (and organization as a whole) has become so mind-numbingly difficult to follow.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) I still believe the Sox miss Viciedo's power. Is he even on a team? Nope. Unsigned. Not even in AAA somewhere.
  3. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) Just pointing that it isn't always about race, just in case. And Enron isn't alone, yo uahve almost every lawmaker in just about every state for the last 30 years that have been mismanaging and appropriating retirement funds. And all those lawmakers were also African-American? Like the decidedly non-minority Fortune 500 CEO's who are never prosecuted (see Anthony Mozilo, Countrywide Loans)?
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 2, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) So do people think Rodon will get the spot start when our guys serve theur suspensions? I think it will be Carroll personally. Rodon I think goes back down to get stretched out when Guerra and Albers are back. Lots of overreaction in this thread. How long have you been a Sox fan? 6 and 6.5 gb with the way they're playing now (assuming Prices beats KC) is borderline nuclear meltdown time. Sure, there's 1983.
  5. If Avi can hit against a righty here it will be big for his confidence.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) He hasn't given up any runs. Gave up a couple inherited, one on a soft liner to RF, another on a SF. What percentage of inherited runners have scored?
  7. Now Ventura is second guessing himself. Flowers last player on bench.
  8. Abreu on the bench with Danks tomorrow....loving those odds.
  9. The softest .286 in the big leagues. Well, he's trying at least.
  10. I officially nominate DA to replace Don Cooper. F--- it, who cares at this point, can't get any worse.
  11. If JR still has a pulse, he has to do something. This is even worse than 2007/09/11/13.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Minn has played dead against teams all year and they are just smoking the Sox. 3-3 against the Royals.
  13. Get Rodon out of there. Horrible misuse of Carlos...he clearly isnt ready, at least for the role they've forced him into.
  14. They should at least play Beckham at third for defense unless Ventura's already giving up on this game. Typical White Sox...finally beat the Royals and then proceed to self-implode.
  15. At least there's the fight to get excited about....too bad it didnt happen five years ago.
  16. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) trade him, he's not being used correctly anyways. Some team will give up a PTBNL for him and Sox can ditch his salary, not that it's much. Dont think so...we would just eat the whole salary, nobody's that desperate for his skill set in early May.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) Seriously, we should never have traded Semien. The Sox are going to have great chips to trade in Shark, LaRoche, Robertson, Duke, Melky to contenders who will be buying. It's imperative to get it right and get some difference makers who are young and fast and can field. Baseball is changing and Sox will have one final chance to get it right when they sell off this year's parts after the break. Yeah, if we pay 30-50% of LaRoche's and Cabrera's future salaries.
  18. Not too many swings and misses on sliders....the strategy is clearly to look fastball firsl and make him throw sliders for strikes.
  19. That Mauer at-bat took a lot out of him.
  20. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 2, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) And Al Sharpton is still not in jail for multi-million dollar tax evasion. These are related how? And Enron hasnt recompensated their former employees for billions of dollars in lost retirement monies caused by mismanagement and illegal accounting/stock manipulation.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) It's the same team we saw in ST Since mid September 2012 when we were up by three games on Detroit.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) Well, literally everyone is underachieving besides Robertson, Duke, Jennings and Avi. Ironically, the one area we dont need is LH relief...yet keep jamming Rodon into those situations.
  23. Momentum. Doesnt exist in baseball. Or so they keep saying.
  24. Bigger problem....Sox pitchers consistently not in the correct position backing up bases. More coaching issues unaddressed...along with ridiculous throws from outfielders.
