  1. More mental mistakes. How many clean games have we had defensively this year? Less than 5?
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) Are we expecting Hickman to sign? I doubt it, but great pick if so. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/video/v15034...38897-807289403 You'd have to think so...he was with the White Sox ACE program until the age of 17, so you know he's comfortable with the organization.
  3. http://news.yahoo.com/mckinney-police-offi...-190534788.html Bishkin said Casebolt had worked one suicide and one attempted suicide in the hour prior to being dispatched to the pool party that reportedly involved teens fighting. “The nature of these two suicide calls took an emotional toll on Eric Casebolt,” Bishkin said at a Wednesday afternoon news conference. Now I know from the rhetoric flying around here on these situations that most law enforcement personnel are going to say that's part of the job, you know it going in and to use it as an excuse after the fact is convenient...if anything, I would think dealing with that kind of a (suicide) situation would make more MORE likely not to want to use deadly force and work out things by talking more amicably, but that's just me.
  4. That's the problem when your family is in California and you're in the Midwest. Minimum, it would be a 2 day thing, as it would be insane to fly (even directly) back and forth in one day. So you can argue it should only be two and not three days, but I'm guessing they have some special events or things to attend that Friday night as well...on the other hand, of course, when you fly east to west you don't lose hardly any time at all. It's the coming back thing that sucks. Especially three time zones or more. Somehow I doubt one game is going to decide the season at this point...
  5. Neither. Just think it will be interesting to see the "counter reaction" from police across the country. Okay...well, if you're not happy with how we're doing our jobs, let's see how happy you are if we do the bare minimum or look the other way. Can't imagine it would be an easy thing to stomach for the best officers. It's the same argument as a local teacher's union, when they take such an action that works against the benefit of the students.
  6. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 05:23 PM) Blue Jays have won 8 in a row, now 1 game above .500 and they have the second best run differential in the MLB. Will we ever have an offense as good as theirs? Maybe if we had traded for Josh Donaldson instead of Samardzija.
  7. Micker Adolfo (way off) would be another possibility, albeit extremely raw and a long path ahead.
  8. Why the bad guys are winning in Baltimore.... http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/10/us/baltimore...view/index.html
  9. Don't give in to Springer. Of course, behind him is Altuve...maybe the best hitter in the AL.
  10. If that balls goes out....just got under it.
  11. That lead started evaporating in a hurry. This game is interesting again.
  12. The game goes from a complete blowout to a nailbiter in the span of 3 minutes. SIGH.
  13. Correa's first big league homer. The fan who caught that ball better hold out for all the Apple gear like the Indians' bullpen did on Moss' 100th homer.
  14. Great defense again, guys. That's what happens when you have players on the field not used to playing with each other. Bonifacio was way over for the shift....had too much ground to cover and wind's really blowing apparently.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) He did himself no favors by looking as if he's never played baseball before during Spring Training. I'd love to replace him with Ruggiano. Everth Cabrera, whoever (he led the NL in stolen bases in 2012, that's something). Of course, you know that Hahn isn't going to admit another Keppinger/Downs mistake in the middle of the season.
  16. White Sox offense continues to fight for ineptness records. Even in winning, you still want to throw the remote control through the t.v.
  17. Flowers 3/29 career with the bases loaded. Greg Holland's now on a 38/39 streak save conversion streak if you count the post-season.
  18. It's like Big 10 football and basketball almost....except that style almost never works against the elite speed teams from the Pac 10 and SEC in the post-season. Pretty amazing...maybe the Warriors just got too overconfident when Irving went down.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 08:46 PM) I love seeing Qualls pitch against the Sox with bases loaded. Good memories. I'm sure he has flashbacks every time he faces the White Sox. Actually, from 2012-2014 he was 5 IP, 2 H, no runs...1 BB, 2 K's. Where can you find career stats against a team? Baseball-reference?

  21. 5 doubles now on the season for Cabrera. The Astros' announcers are claiming he's broken out of his slump. We'll see.
  22. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 08:32 PM) So, Mike Brown was following police instructions? Eric Garner was following police instructions? They were plainly NOT following police instructions. So from those instances, how is following police instructions more dangerous? Brown at least stopped.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) He could be working on a certain pitch. The one that the announcers were enamored with was the splitter/change that's thrown at 90 MPH. That wiped out Schwarber, even when he was ahead in the count. (Of course, he was expecting 95-98 probably). But nice to see he's confident enough to throw it when down 3-1 in the count to a very dangerous hitter. That takes some stones.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 08:26 PM) Haven't you told us 100 times why no one goes to games? Now you can't complain about them winning 2-0, so mention the attendance. Again. It's not a phenomenon of the White Sox. It's a condition for all rebuilding teams. The Astros and Twins aren't drawing much better, and those teams are both in first place in mid-June. There aren't many fanbases with seven years and counting of non-playoff appearances who are supporting their teams, either.
  25. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) Great pitching doesn't fill seats, need to put runs on the board. Also, how many games have you been to this season? ZERO. Hard to attend from China. When I'm back in the Quad Cities for two weeks in July, I'll see if there's a game I can make it to. When you have a thee month old, it's more of a priority to get back and spend time with your child during summer vacation (for a teacher).
