  1. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) I'm convinced Marty doesn't like Viciedo because he's Cuban. We've gotten nothing out of LF for years. Now, we have a 23 year old hitting 252/20/62 while playing solid defense and people complain. I love Sox fans. He hates Viciedo and Ramirez. Loves Beckham and Konerko. HMMMMMM.....
  2. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) I just meant bench him for today. Everyone else managed to recognize the situation and let themselves be walked on base. AJ, Ramirez...even Beckham was freakin' ducking under balls thrown at his head. Only Dayan, with a (IIRC) 2-0 count decided to swing...for some dumb ass reason. I'm sorry but I have no patience for batters that have no patience. That inning would have been 0 outs bases loaded if it wasnt for Dayan. I think thats deserving of a 1 game benching Every hitter in the majors is taught to hunt for a fastball with a 2-0 count and to try to drive it. He hit it hard, just at the SS. By your line of thinking, then everyone in our line-up should be benched, because all of them have hit into DP's, K'ed or popped up with RISP recently.
  3. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) That's yesterday. Today, he ruined what would have been a huge inning for us SEE EVERYONE in the line-up since the Orioles series. FIRE THEM ALL. LOL. Guaranteed we win more games with an experienced manager who knows how to handle a bullpen rather than benching Viciedo.
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) Who hits for the Sox next year won't be that important. Because Dan Johnson and D-Wise are MVP caliber players. Whatever. They're just as likely to be streaky as Viciedo is...the only argument for Johnson is ONE game in the majors this year and one of his last five seasons in AAA/AAAA.
  5. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:45 AM) I hope he was. And who's going to hit for the White Sox next year, exactly? DeAza has been bad since he's come back, maybe we should bench him, too.
  6. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) hittable pitch? He was reaching so far out of the strike zone. If a guy wants to walk you then let him walk you, wtf. He had two walks yesterday. One of them forced in a key early run.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) He should've been packaged for Greinke. MLB IS NOT EQUAL TO STRAT-O-MATIC OR PLAY STATION. Thanks!
  8. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) Only we can score 0 runs in an inning where the opposing pitcher can't even find the strike zone. What the hell was dumb ass Dayan thinking hitting into that double play? I would just bench a guy for that type of dumb s***. He was ahead in the count and got a hittable pitch, he just hit it right at the SS. By your theory, we should bench every member of the starting line-up, because NOBODY is hitting with RISP. At least Dayan actually came through to get 2 RBI's yesterday. Maybe Konerko should be benched, too.
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) He should've been packaged for Greinke. Looking at the Brewers' roster, why oh why would Viciedo have been their main priority? It wasn't an area of need at all for Milwaukee. And where are the Angels going, exactly? And who's going to hit homers for the White Sox next year? Subtract Dayan/Youk/AJ, and you've got too many issues to compete with DET.
  10. Still struggling with RISP. But at least we've got the lead. So far so good with Liriano.
  11. That's all fine and good, but Kyle Seager has been very very good for them for most of this season. Morel has even less trade value than Thornton, Mitchell and Crain, for the moment.
  12. YAY, most boring/uneventful/non-bullpen messed up/decently managed game in MONTHS. Sale had a 6.60 ERA in his last stretch of road starts. And the White Sox had a 1-9 stretch of road pathetic-ness, too, broken. Both Verlander and Sale showed up from the get-go tonight. Verlander hadn't won since right after the ASB on the road. Chris is now tied with Price and Weaver at 17 wins...or did Price get his 18th tonight against the Yankees?
  13. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Matty didnt pitch at all in that Tigers series so he could use some burn Where did that phrase come from, THE BIGGEST LOSER?
  14. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) I would have gone maybe Marinez, Omogrosso or Jones here, but whatever. Definitely not Reed. Omogrosso is being saved for Cabrera on Monday. Same with Septimo against Fielder. Shades of Rajai Davis trying to flip the ball to another fielder for a throw from short LF in the Blue Jays series, lol. Going for the highlight reel play.
  15. Please, no more bases loaded situations. It's unbearable how bad we are when that happens. Matt Thornton will be 36 tmrw, FWIW. 7 straight years with 60+ appearances, 2006-2012.
  16. Knowing Gardenhire and Ryan, that's probably the last time you'll see Perdomo in a Twins' uniform after that performance. They HATE walks.
  17. I can honestly say PREMIUM RUSH with JGL was 10X more exciting than this game. Fun movie...but any White Sox victory at this point in the season is "fun" by definition. 12-4 is a pretty incredible record against MINN, especially with our past struggles. YOUK currently at 779 OPS, that's about 200 points higher than we would have gotten out of Morel, at least.
  18. Good thing Rodney's not still on the Tigers. He's having an incredible season as a closer this year. The Yankees have been playing uncharacteristically tight since the O's tied them. They made a huge error in the 9th for an insurance run. Pesky Royals giving the Angels fits in KC, 7-5 lead in the 7th there. Was hoping NEVER to see Jose Lopez or Olmedo on the field again this season. Oh well, maybe it will help preserve YOUK's back.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) Proud of Ventura for pulling Sale. He would have given him another inning earlier in the year. Farmer's theory is that the colder September weather is bringing him back to life after the heat of July/August.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Juan Marinez is ready to pitch too JHAN, I think.
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) nice having an outfield that can catch balls Dayan has been decent to better than expected. Actually, DeAza's being forced to play a little more shallow in LF because anything hit over his head now would be a homer. BTW, Farmer and DJ said they expected Dunn back in the line-up Sunday, not Saturday. Tomorrow's an early turnaround game, 12 pm.
