  1. 5 double plays tonight, very un-Twinslike. We've been pretty lucky that the game wasn't close to tied with all the walks and DP balls going our way.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) Beckham is still a good player and we should keep him. Defensively he is one of the best. The bat will come. Trust me There's no way he can be successful with his current approach. His hitch is just as bad as 2010 and 2011. Thornton hung a breaking ball...lucky Mauer didn't rip it into the seats.
  3. I really really really hate Matt Thornton these days.
  4. Thornton leads the AL in losses for a reliever with 6. Isn't he something like 0/7 in save opportunities?
  5. Beckham 3 for his last 28. YAY! Great, Thornton coming in. Beckham even managed to hit a young woman in the mouth with a foul ball. He can't even manage to put the ball in play.
  6. 37,788 first sellout of the season i think
  7. What the HELL was Beckham doing on that play? Why would you ever have your back totally turned to the outfield on that play? It's one thing to suck offensively, but you can't let the Twins back into the game with your brain-deadedness.
  8. White Sox enter tonight with 4 of the top 40 in MLB OPS. 19. Paulie 27. Rios 38. Dunn 40. AJ YOUK around .280 with 5 HR's and 19 RBI's
  9. Beckham still leading both Weeks brothers, Ackley and Andino in OPS. Dustin's been a huge disappointment for the M's rebuilding effort. Great swing, Alex. Just wish we could have scored consistently this last week and held onto that Thursday Red Sox game. Oh, well. Double bonus is we wiped out some of the trade value of Liriano to other teams.
  10. So much for questioning Dunn in the line-up tonight. Two very well hit balls tonight against a lefty. Slider that was up and elevated in the zone. 414 feet.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) I wonder what we could get for Humber and Nathan Jones....would that get us Volquez? I think we have to keep Floyd around at the point and hope to get him straightened out. Why would they want to do that? Way too much respect to Mauer there. Willingham the White Sox MVP tonight.
  12. It's suicide to let Liriano get into a rhythm. Have to knock him out early.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Who is our long man with Axe sent down? Santiago, seemingly. But not tonight, he pitched 3+ yesterday.
  14. It's pretty bad when DJ and Farmer have to motivate Gavin and make him believe he has a great curveball... Ugh. DJ told him he has the best curveball he's seen (when it's one) after Daryll Kile.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Great to see PK give this team a lift! It's not lasting for long.
  16. We score runs and give them right back. Jesus.
  17. Why the HELL was Beckham covering there with Butera batting? Butera's a slap hitter who very rarely pulls the ball. The odds of him pulling it on the ground are about 10%. Alexei should have had that cover and the inning's over.
  18. Is Konerko back? That's encouraging. Now Gavin, whatever you do, you can't give up the lead in the top of the 2nd. First homer since June 18th and 29th (Yankees/Cubs). Around 70 at-bats. Balt 1, CLE 2, top of the 7th
  19. Is Konerko back? That's encouraging. Now Gavin, whatever you do, you can't give up the lead in the top of the 2nd.
  20. Of course. That's the way things are going. Dunn actually goes to the opposite side....luckily he didn't drop it or it would have ended up a double or triple play.
  21. Can Dunn actually make a productive out and move the runners?
  22. DeAza 16/24. Liriano has 25 strikeouts in his last 2 games, against the A's and Orioles. He actually lost to the A's despite recording 15 K's. 10 more K's than IP, 15 less hits.
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) wasn't he still on the dl yesterday? He wasn't eligible to come off the DL until today, fwiw.
  24. That's something the White Sox offense would manage...no wonder they're 15 games under .500. Morneau out of the line-up taking care of a personal/family problem.
  25. Well, that's huge. Assuming we can actually score a run or two against Liriano. Weird to see a late July game between BALT and CLE and there's no clear direction who to cheer for in the match-up.
