  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) He's not making any excuses, actually. Rather, he's ignoring everything on the field and talking about Cleveland playing in Miller Park. Several instances today he's criticized the team; particularly Uribe these last few days. That Masset line just got really ugly. So is his "missing" fastball, and our "MIA" defense.
  2. QUOTE(SoxGovernment @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) b**** b**** b**** b**** I think Ozzie basically said, I'm going with the veterans no matter what...if they're not getting the job done, it's June/July and the Sox are fading out of the race, then you see wholesale changes for more athletic players like Lastings Milledge.
  3. QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) So if Anderson were in CF, the score would still be 2-0 instead of 4-0, because the ball Erstad couldn't reach would have been the third out of the inning if BA were playing. I doubt it. Although I'm not sure why Erstad, now 0 for his last 19, isn't being pinch hit for...
  4. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) I kinda hope we suck and have a fire sell... maybe the we could get a new hitting coach, and some YOUTH and SPEED, and maybe some LINE DRIVE SWINGS This might be the flattest White Sox game in recent history. Wow. Everything is going wrong, besides the fine effort by Danks.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) Hell, might as well trade him. Ozzie's obviously not a fan of his, and we saw how that ended for McCarthy and Tracey. And Rauch. I was eviscerated earlier this week when suggesting a change in batting coaches, but another week of this, if the pitching continues to be strong, and you'll start hearing murmurs.
  6. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) Anderson isn't going to pinch hit... I'd rather see Greg Walker (the god of hitting) up there. Ozuna and Cintron would be ideal. If Randy Johnson from 1994 was pitching, would Ozzie actually consider pinch-hitting for Pods? EDIT: Thank God for Chad Durbin. You know you're bad when the pitching starved Royals don't want you.
  7. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) another reason why it is stupid to have 3 lefties in a row... and I bet all three lefties face Fultz. I think the White Sox know that the game tomorrow won't be played...they're playing like it's the last game of the season and they just want to get on an airplane and go home.
  8. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) It's crazy that he would be a hellova 1st baseman with practice with grounders and such. More athletic already than Konerko with more range. I would call him a poor man's Derrick Lee. Almost the same frame. He looks like a poor man's Lamar Johnson or Claudell Washington right now running around in RF.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:47 PM) AJ used to be an all field hitter who hit line drives, and lots of doubles. Now he looks like he going to pull everything. It really doesnt matter who we bring to this club, they will become a prototypical pull only hitter. If you can turn AJ into it. Nobody is safe. Maybe we should sign Boggs and Gwynn as co-hitting coaches.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Fantastic comparisons Oh, for the days of Magglio Ordonez, Mike Devereaux, Cory Snyder and Ellis Burks. Dye is running in Quikcrete out there.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Mr. Crede has about 15 pop ups to the right side of the field this year. It reminds me a lot of Frank Thomas when he was in a funk...flares to the right side, groundballs pulled to SS. Erstad looks like Aaron Rowand down the stretch in 05, except from the left side.
  12. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) Wow Garko is hitting close to .500 on the season so far? Why do the Indians' bats just sound a lot better than ours? KW was worried about getting old, I think you might be seeing that "slow/old" thing hitting simultaneously with Erstad, Thome, Konerko, Dye, AJ and Iguchi.
  13. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) Goes back to Wedge's quote. If Danks get through this inning, he will have the same exact ERA as McCarthy, except he'll be 0-2 instead of 1-1. Danks has actually pitched better, less total runs and less hits allowed, more K's.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) Embarrassing. No reason at all for four straight swing and misses against Byrd in one inning. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE no game tomorrow against Sabathia. That will give the Indians five games to make up this season already. Danks is getting as much support as Todd Ritchie in April/May of 2002.
  15. QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) Dye looks horrible. Crede looks bad on outside pitches. 11 innings pitched by Danks, no runs scored for him. We suck.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:32 PM) Excellent swing by PK. Keep it going offense. This "man love" moment for Grady Sizemore sponsored by Miller Lite.
  17. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) heck yeah! byrd plz walk in two runs! Walk #3 on the season, 13 all last year....good job Juancito
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 01:08 PM) 4 IP 5 H 2 R (2 ER) 1 BB 3 SO. Not bad for Danks. 70 pitches...looking like another 6 inning effort, hopefully another QS
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) Yeah, I think Danks will be a solid starter for us for a good number of years. However, his command is not even close to being MLB ready. He'd break the MLB record for homers allowed if he last the whole year. I'm still waiting to see his fastball get over 90 mph like we were told it would. I wonder if they'll teach him a 2-seamer. I'm still waiting for Jenks to get to 95. These guns are all inconsistent. Danks has been 87-92 all season. It's early. Think how long we had to wait for Jon Garland to become a better than average MLB pitcher.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) He'll be the Pods of this year when he can do absolutely horrible for a long stretch, but Ozzie still won't sit him. Do we really think he'll sit Erstad for Anderson? There were quite a few who wanted to give up on Jermaine Dye in April/May of 2005.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:45 PM) The first week was cute and all, but it's really really really really f***ing time to sit Erstad. Why don't we sit Konerko, Thome, Iguchi and AJ while we're at it? There won't be a Sunday line-up tomorrow, the game probably won't be played.
  22. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) Bad location... calm down Mr. Danks, and stop the bleeding. Looks like we will be seeing Mr. Masset this game.
  23. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) I'd prefer Suzuki. I'm going to start calling him Donnie Garko. Oops. Barfield homer. At least he's being consistent giving up all his run via the longball.
  24. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:26 PM) Welcome to Soxtalk. I wasn't sure if that was Anderson 2006, Rowand 2005 or Crede 2002-2004.
  25. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:25 PM) manoshevitz. Mientkiewicz? Andy Stankiewicz?
