  1. And then the door caves in... Relaxed a bit after getting Yelich out, that feels also like it was a 50% chance to be additional runs after WP. Now Wilson is on the hook for what looks like a likely loss. Which sucks for him.
  2. Put pressure on the pitcher by loading the bases, something like THAT happens about 50% of the time, at least to the bad teams in the league with relatively inexperienced bullpens at the major league level.
  3. Well...that was, not exactly shocking.
  4. huge out there for Eisert...can he get out of it completely, though?
  5. It's going to seem obvious they shouldn't have started Wilson with another inning, lol. Yes, hindsight, but you just had a feeling.
  6. We do have a bullpen, right? Venable really pushing Wilson here...I guess he's expendable, like 2021 Carlos Rodon.
  7. Let's hope we haven't had to start worrying about Schultz/Smith/Taylor, too. Colson collapsing into a walking enigma was bad enough.
  8. Robert 106.1 EV on that ball to CF. Eventually he'll start hitting them where they ain't or into the stands when you start to get the heat and wind working together in May/June.
  9. Maybe they can just highlight all the concession items and souvenir store trendsetters for 2+ hours...instead of showing an actually-licensed MLB broadcast...? Interview (the few) fans in the stands, or "visiting" Brewers' fans and their various impressions.
  10. Baldwin and Amaya must be leading in bunt attempts/fake bunts. Is there some new advanced metric that says playing for a 2 run lead and not big inning at home with the White Sox bullpen is actually a GOOD idea...or is it more the idea of old school/fundamentals and execution-based, sacrifice for your teammates Japanese style of baseball taking hold? The big problem is setting up JOSH FREAKIN' PALACIOS to drive that run in, lol.
  11. Walk's as good as a hit. Said 75% of Little League coaches, at least.
  12. But can he hit enough taters...? Because chicks dig the long ball, or so Maddux/Glavine claim.
  13. Gilbert Eisert B.Wilson The Holy Grail/Trinity of Openers... Brewers up there hacking away like they all have 9:30 late dinner reservations. What's the weather like?
  14. Or Schiffren...only in the sense of what will he say or do next to make the national sports/broadcasting news? He's like a MUCH less fun version of Bill Walton, who was winking at the audience and having so much fun riffing.
  15. Norfolk Tides about to be 9-18, suck it Mayo/Basallo, lol... Robert 161/600 With Robert physically at 100% (he's running almost every time he gets on base, and fielding almost as well as 2020), one would think an ambitious GM who has a swing guru might want to jump the line and make the first offer and see if Getz bites (before Luis gets hurt again).
  16. 13 pitches for Wilson and into the fourth inning...that's crazy.
  17. Compare to 2 weeks ago. Progress/ion. And he's playing close to GG glove level defense, which makes him more viable than previously believed.
  18. Eddie Gaedel, Part Deux Another exciting match-up with former Brewers, former Sox facing their old teams...tmrw is the centerpiece with Knights' disaster Tobias Meyers vs. Rule 5 Shane Smith, newspaper copy practically writing itself. Then you have Jose Quintana as well. miss him in the rotation (more homecoming fluff pieces), but get Patrick (Rule 5 protected over S.Smith) vs. Sean Burke, so more Boston/Massachusetts youth stories about him, Mike Vasil, Cam Booser.
  19. Vargas is looking like he actually might make it...MAYBE. Sosa and Baldwin (and Meidroth) at least looked decent. Then there's Quero...can only contain the excitement by dousing it with a Campfire Milkshake and a City Connect jersey.
  20. But the Orioles are BROKEN now. It's Moneyball 2...it's NOT giving $5.25 million to Kyle Gibson and lighting it on fire, or even more money to a rapidly aging Charlie Morton.
  21. Is this because of his movie where he's the basketball scout for that Spanish star who went to the NBA? Maybe he's conflating the two things. Robert, Benintendi...trade value/cash considerations homers LuBob almost to a 600 OPS, Vaughn still at .491
  22. 2011 Adam Dunn Vaughn Robert NY Times Wastill Brent Lillibridge is only 42/43 might be able to beat out Amaya still
  23. Don't forget prematurely balding. Palacios and Amaya back to back when lineup turns over...no bueno.
  24. Don't Stop Believin'. Nah. Not gonna happen. Only Hollywood movies. 1980 Olympic Hockey. Texas Western vs. Kentucky, NC State/Valvano or Villanova/Gtown.
  25. Baldwin, if he could hit 15-18 bombs and steal 30-40 bases, suddenly becomes much more viable....but half those numbers is what I would more realistically expect.
