  1. "While the Fish could opportunistically use a Stroman, Montgomery, Matz or Walker trade as a means of effectively purchasing a prospect or two, the likelier and more straightforward path would be to finally venture into free agency. Miami isn’t going to surrender a draft pick to sign Nick Pivetta, but virtually any of the other remaining rotation arms could make sense. Among the yet unsigned names are Andrew Heaney, Kyle Gibson, Patrick Corbin, Cal Quantrill, Jose Quintana, Spencer Turnbull, Ross Stripling, Lance Lynn, Jakob Junis and Alex Wood. There also some post-injury rehab candidates to consider (e.g. Anthony DeSclafani, John Means, Jose Urquidy)." mlbtraderumors.com Looking like Marlins will sign or trade for 1-2 veteran arms here and pass White Sox to make them lowest payroll. Tim Anderson only FA deal in last two years from new GM Bendix, who replaced Kim Ng. Chris Flexen not listed lol.

  4. That idea once again he cost like $2 million or whatever in 2024 salary and generated upwards of $100+ million in revenues/media attention for the Dodgers.
  5. $12 million per year isn't enough...
  6. Thought this one at foxsports.com site had one interesting inclusion...

More annoying the Cubs have like the fourth highest odds...well, they still have to go out and prove it by knocking off Milwaukee and the Reds.
  9. 6th...although Pipeline should pull that average closer to 4/5, in all likelihood. By Prospect Points...#1 is worth 100, #2 99 etc. they were actually #1, but that doesn't measure anything besides Top 100 guys tbf. https://www.mlb.com/news/front-office-executives-poll-for-farm-systems-2025 MLB Execs voting here they were 4th, but that would fall to fifth with Sasaki signing after article came out.

    Okay John Lennon.
  12. Yes, at his age and if he believes (and Boras concurs) that he's a $20-25 million per year SS anywhere near his 2023 performance level. 5 Years from now he would only be able to get a two or maybe three year deal. Depends on how strongly he believes the shoulder injury is behind him.
  13. Read that as Mayans...maybe the MC.
  14. And Bregman already turned down 6/$156 from Houston in December but seems to still have at least 4-6 bidders. Alonso's market has to be down just to 2-3 options.
  15. Obviously going to be a ton of debate over 5 through 10. Braden and Quero are switched from near where everyone else has them. Gonzalez is #11-15 on all the other lists...if not a bigger fall. No sign of Wolkow or Meidroth. Well, at least something to talk about.

He headed to the Arizona Fall League after that, and his command issues popped up again as he posted a 13-to-7 strikeout-to-walk ratio. If the regular season performance before his AFL struggles is close to his 2025 performance, Taylor will be on next winter's top 100." https://global.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/43639138/2025-top-10-prospect-rankings-all-30-mlb-teams-kiley-mcdaniel#chw

  18. “Well, definitely his first season Dunn earned the fans' ire. He was easily the worst player in baseball that year, so much so that it was obvious even before looking at value stats: Hit .159 (lol, my memory was .169) with only 11 HRs in nearly 500 PAs; walked a bit, so his OBP ended up being higher than his SLG. Negative value defensively, limited to 1B and LF positions that demand high offense he wasn't providing One of the worst baserunners in all of baseball, if not the worst At least you could count on him for opening day homers! EDIT: LOL! The second worst player in MLB, by WAR? Alexis Rios. Amazing that team managed to be 79-83.” Found this thread about Sox villains lol. Must also include Jaime Navarro David Wells Steve Sax Cory Snyder lol. Belle has to be up there…nothing to do with his Sox performance, though. Forgot Lillibridge outhomered Dunn 13 to 11 in Adam’s Ny Times headlining horrific first season. https://www.reddit.com/r/whitesox/comments/1icvx8v/the_belle_tolls_for_thee_average_playerhated_by/?%24deep_link=true&correlation_id=e32dbeee-5595-41be-81fb-463b3e8884e1&post_fullname=t3_1icvx8v&post_index=1&%243p=e_as&_branch_match_id=1335096714273658971&_branch_referrer=H4sIAAAAAAAAA22QTWrEMAyFT5PZZYbEyZAWhlIovUAPIJxYSUQd28jKZGbTs1fp36rgxeN7enrCs0jKj6cTo3MkR5vS0VN4P5n0VNSNSRcEmw8qI9NEwXpY2V%2FmPVWY56J%2B1bdt2%2FEnP8RFAe9wJsEcbyoVLhgkq6xouN66qyqZEXr0HkGi9xnGyKBM667IdkJI3t6RZyvooL%2FvTUbL2rpxiAn2IwvzIrxiUZ%2BHyIzeCsUA5JSjqV2PiGXbPrRlU%2FVYdtXYl83Z9Aa7rmuw0lyKWWBcvQ92wX2dgb8Lv00KDm%2Fq7NOM4756seTB0YRZviEMdkmWpvC%2Fm%2BPKA%2F56CldZYIhB9E%2BUftUIicfDh44jM4UJeo5bRr682dEyfQKFhq3GpgEAAA%3D%3D
  19. Well...since Jay Williams, not sure pinning all the hopes on another Duke player will work out, but he sure looks legit.
  20. Gavin Lux, Aug 25th (!) WS Ring Ceremony when the Reds travel to Dodger Stadium... fyi for Harold
  21. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/after-chiefs-seek-record-three-peat-free-agency-could-hit-them-hard If the Chiefs can survive all those impending FA losses and Kelce being yet another year older...well, nothing is surprising anymore with the run they're on. And it's not like he is close to the same age as Curry Green Thompson when the Warriors dynasty started to crumble. Then again 29 in the NFL is probably equivalent of 33-35 for everyone but Brady.

Not even sure Venable could sell many tickets if he made these calls personally. Too early...needs to establish more credibility with fans.

  25. "The Cubs announced that they’ve designated lefty reliever Rob Zastryzny for assignment. Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reported the move just before the official announcement. That’s the corresponding move for the Ryan Brasier trade, which is official." Guess those other bullpen names were for Bregman signing ... JR won't approve acquiring him because too many complicated letters on the jersey back.
