  2. Sounds like a quote that would be coming from JR/Getz about the White Sox and not ever signing a $100+ million player, not that $300 million plus isn't ACTUALLY the new cutoff for "star" caliber players.
  3. Reunion with TA and Desastre Personal out there in Anaheim...well, at least it's Orange County, seems more harmless.
  4. "Marlins fans can “get up to 45% off tickets and pick the games that fit your schedule.” Fans can also select “how many tickets to use per game" and "switch your seat location at the stadium.” Fans are considered a “Rising Star” if they invest in a $750 flex credit, which means they “won’t have to pay ticket fees and you'll get a 10% ticket discount.” The more fans invest, the “more of a ticket discount” they will receive. If fans renew through 2026, they will get “priority access and early bird pricing” for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The standard membership plans begin as low as $11.50 per game (ATHLON SPORTS, 8/19)." https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/08/20/miami-marlins-season-ticket-concept/ Very creative...but hard to imagine many Sox fans forking over $750 to Jerry Reinsdorf right now.
  5. "When Ego Meets Incompetence: it’s not a conspiracy, Harrison is just ruinously bad at his job A new GM gets a little taste of success and then decides to blaze a trail of his own brilliance alone" https://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2025/2/6/24359261/when-ego-meets-incompetence-not-conspiracy-nico-harrison-just-ruinously-bad-general-manager "Nevermind the fact that the move he wanted to make, adding Matisse Thybulle, was blocked when the Portland Trailblazers matched Dallas’ offer. Or that Kyle Kuzma, the wing Harrison had his sights on before pivoting to Washington, nixed the trade to stay with the Wizards of all teams. Sometimes, the best moves are the ones you don’t make. Or, in these cases, the ones you are prevented from making due to forces beyond your control."

  7. "The man who orchestrated the entire deal, Nico Harrison, is the same person who fumbled Nike’s pitch to Stephen Curry in 2013, costing the company hundreds of millions of dollars. At the time, Stephen Curry was with Nike, but the company’s attempt to re-sign him was a disaster..."
  8. And Steph Curry... Found this at white sox reddit “Some of the conspiracy theories about Doncic, or reference: The NBA's ratings are down, so the NBA looked for a spark for their marquee franchise, the Lakers. NBA commissioner Adam Silver ordered this trade. The new Mavericks owners, the Adelsons, don't want to hit the second apron that they'd hit by giving Luka the supermax contract, so they cheaped out and traded the guy and made up some excuses about his conditioning and THE WILL TO WIN. The Adelsons want to move the franchise to Las Vegas, where they own casinos, so they are trying to get the Dallas faithful to abandon the franchise and say, "Well, we would've stayed if you supported us..." Think the movie Major League, or the stunt Clay Bennett pulled moving the Sonics to OKC (this sounds pretty familiar!) Mavs GM Nico Harrison is confirmed friends with Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and hence didn't even bother contacting other teams. He was just wanted to help his buddy and is either repaying a debt or is expecting a favor quid pro quo.”
  9. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/twins-have-shown-interest-in-paul-dejong-luis-urias.html Twins looking at DeJong, Luis Urias Urias very solid in 2021/22 with MIL but fell off the map last two seasons in SEA.
  10. Three years ago today...
  11. "Last winter, four Boras clients — Cody Bellinger, Blake Snell, Matt Chapman and Jordan Montgomery — waited deep into the offseason to sign. All four settled for short-term deals that included opt-outs. Alex Bregman, another Boras client, remains on the open market the week before pitchers and catchers are due to report. The Soto megadeal was historic, impressive and all the other descriptors you want to use, but it’s tough to grade the Alonso situation as anything but a loss for Boras." https://sports.yahoo.com/mets-win-staring-contest-with-scott-boras-bring-pete-alonso-back-on-short-term-deal-180841663.html
  12. projected 2027 top org prospects "White Sox: Braden Montgomery, OF (MLB No. 55) A switch-hitter with prodigious power and arm strength, Montgomery bashed 62 homers in three college seasons at Stanford and Texas A&M before breaking his right ankle on a bad slide during the NCAA Super Regionals last June. Drafted 12th overall by the Red Sox, he'll make his pro debut with the White Sox after they acquired him in the Garrett Crochet trade at the Winter Meetings in December." https://www.mlb.com/news/projecting-each-mlb-team-s-top-prospect-in-2027?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  13. 8:13 a.m. ET: The Golden State Warriors might not be done dealing, Brian Windhorst reports on "Get Up." Windhorst said the Warriors have multiple expiring contracts to deal, and could be looking for a big man who can shoot, like the Chicago Bulls' Nikola Vucevic. espn.com
  14. Can we please stay away from SEC SS's? Beckham Gonzalez...
  15. And, on the plus side, they won't have been mathematically eliminated before June...
  16. Guerrero Jr. already turned down $340 million and won't negotiate against after Feb.18th.
  17. Which one is missing then? I just counted 28 for March April May. It's not the Cubs. Never mind it's 27. But not very many compelling opponents. Best case they pick up some Red Sox and Brewers' fans to outnumber Sox fans for those home series.
  18. So all the games but Opening Day?
  19. "A's 2025 season tickets for their inaugural season in West Sacramento have sold out. By clicking the Join the Waitlist button above and completing the form, you will be added to the waitlist to secure your spot in line for 2026. An A's representative will reach out detailing next steps." mlb.com A's Ticket prices going up again for 2025 : r/tampabayrays - Reddit www.reddit.com › comments › ticket_pri... Aug 23, 2024 · Got my season ticket renewal this week, have a full season outfield ticket plan, and our 2025 cost is going up by 15%. Some are seeing up to 40% increases. Otoh, you can get a full season pass for $249 in an un desirable seating area.
  20. With the way Toyota and Nissan both are going...
  21. $125/28 games=$4.46 per ticket...minor league prices. It's the parking that will get you haha. And why would anyone want a Charles Comiskey Bobblehead? To deflect attention from JR...?
  22. Enjoy the greatness of Barkley vs. the Chiefs' defense...there's that at least.
  23. NL Central is going to be a dogfight this year...not because of Pham, but all five teams could make cases. Pirates just passed $90 million in 2025 payroll.
  24. https://sports.yahoo.com/grading-the-lakers-second-stunning-trade-could-mark-williams-be-the-missing-piece-132709173.html Guess I haven't been watching enough Charlotte games...Duke and Kentucky always have these guys who are stars but only play 20-25 mins but are hardly noticed until the NBA because they are frequently overshadowed. A+ grade for Lakers
  25. If there's any certainty in the future, it's that a massive contract needs to go to a true five tool star player with plus defensive skills and not a 2ish fWAR 1B in his thirties. Haven't we learned from the likes of Dunn LaRoche M.Cabrera Alonso and Encarnacion??? The contract that the Astros gave to Abreu? The White Sox have sunk more money into DH and 1B with less oositivet results than any team baseball the last 10-15 years. If we really think signing Alonso's the answer...it would have been far more logical to put Burger at 1B. 28 years old, far cheaper, and Alonso only beat him 1.8 to 1.4 from an fWAR perspective.
