Marco Paddy fired
Everyone probably could have made better first round draft picks than Vaughn and Madrigal, too. Translation: "I signed in the Dominican Republic with the White Sox. First, I am eternally grateful to the White Sox for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the organization. [José] Contreras helped me a lot [in my decision], as did the other Cuban players who came through the organization before, including Minnie [Miñoso], Orlando Hernandez [“El Duque”], and many others." Soxon35th.com It is kind of ironic that Hahn and Paddy were the only Sox execs in the last decade to win national recognition in the executive/scouting field. Has Getz ever won anything related to his post playing career?

Alexei Ramirez, Jose Abreu, Luis Robert and Fernando Tatis have had about as much success as any scout's profile. Carlos/Yolmer Sanchez was solid. Eduardo Escobar. Then you factor in we were in on both Soto and Guerrero Jr. but didn't have the open purse strings from JR to close those two deals. When has Getz identified a stud hitter, exactly? Montgomery was supposed to be the One.

Getz’s Hilarious Hypocrisy
1st 2nd 3rd eight times from 2004-20015. Chop off Ventura's 2013-2015 sleep walk and things look much better. 2000-2004 was by and large fine too except for the 2001 letdown aka massive disappointment. Then 2016 following the Semien trade was the real false hope disaster of a gut punch. Following Adam Dunn's 2011. If only we had never heard of Samardzija or Swisher around here.

Getz’s Hilarious Hypocrisy
At least with KW there was offensive fireworks big numbers put up on the board from 2000~2012 for the most part. Slugfests and second to Minnesota. Now it's 90% build around starting pitching...and hope enough pan out before getting either too expensive or injured. Defense and speed? Well not really. Maybe Fletcher is a fourth or fifth outfielder. Maybe. Fundamentals/execution? Cohesion with wave after wave of winning minor league teams advancing? Bullpen even a remote resemblance to a major league quality one? So we have the worst of all worlds, no comeback-ability but the almost innate fear or presumption of blowing every single lead late.

Comparing 1970 to today...
Jake out of JR's preferred salary range.

No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
Or Tatis, Jr. Semien. Two guys expected to be MVP-caliber presences.

Have to wonder about Sirotka too. Jimmy Cordero was flat out destroyed.

West Coast White Sox: The Seattle Mariners and their 2024 season.
So Arozarena and Turner weren't the answer on offense?

9/3 Games
Might as well send Ramos to the AFL and let him see if he can keep his hot streak going...if nothing else, might be able to increase his prospect/trade value. No idea what position they're going to put him at if Montgomery moves over to 3rd...second, maybe? Or will they actually let him play the last week or two of the year for the Sox at 3rd? They'll probably do something idiotic like give Moncada those at-bats. At any rate, with the way he and Colas have been treated by the organization/coaches, especially Oscar, both seem like likely trade candidates.

Better yet, let's trade him at 65 to 75 cents on the dollar, before he gets hurt again... And let's take back even more pitchers because we've completely lost the ability to identify positional talent.

First Move
Francona would require a minimum of $5 million as a salary, and that's going to be 1/16th of their payroll next year. ZERO chance. Has to be a Gabe Kapler type that's dying to get back in the game, in theory...someone with almost nothing left to lose, who's desperate for one last chance to work a miracle.

Sept 3 game thread Sox vs O's, Sox playing for Dirty Dozen 5:35 first pitch
Excuse will be so many of those players involved in that misplay didn't come up in the White Sox system, so they obviously didn't learn the proper fundamentals instituted under Chris er BRANCH Getsky.

Bring back Camp Cora!!!

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
Ballantini trying to usurp Jay Cuda....what's going on here? Jay was faithful to the White Sox cause for a number of years, going back. And JAY appears, as if by magic, lol.

First Move
Great, more Cardinals Way/Cardinals Nation...can bring back Lance Lynn again, lol. Joe Oquendo and Joe McEwing as base coaches.

Thorpe season ending bone spur surgery in elbow
It wasn't really on the Bulls staff since they didn't perform the procedure. IIRC, they thought that he might have had meningitis so they sent him to an emergency room in a hospital to have a spinal tap (that's the definitive way to check for meningitis), and it didn't seal properly which really fucked him up...

Sounds like a Korn Ferry or perhaps PGA Tour member.

We can't even successfully organize a neighborhood baseball clinic or community blood drive, let alone "being out for blood."

Fire Chris Getz
We don't have access to what player combinations have been available in trade. We certainly know there's about 15-20 FA's on the pitching and positional side that he failed to contact, as opposed to how that money was actually spent. If we keep making excuses about the 15-20% "SOX FA SURCHARGE," they might as well just fold up the franchise and give up attempting to compete. GETZ DOESN'T HAVE A BONE OF CREATIVITY IN HIS BODY. Or that entrepreneurial, "risk taking" gene like a KW or AJ Preller. He certainly doesn't have the PR game down pat, like Hahn and Williams at least managed.

Thorpe season ending bone spur surgery in elbow
With Northwestern Medical and so many other shining lights, it's really a shame that the standard of care for Sox players has gone downhill so much in the last decade.

9/2 GT - Sox vs. Orioles 2:05 CT
They've only hit it once recently, and just barely, and it was definitely a mark over 2 million to pay relatively negligible ticket taxes, around 2.2 or 2.4 or something like that in attendance. Likewise, the bottom threshold was somewhere between 1.2 and 800,000, but it's going to take a lot to trigger that subsidy as well. Of course, you can already look at the parking lot revenues as "free" money for the Sox.

9/2 GT - Sox vs. Orioles 2:05 CT
Yet they're 27th in attendance, and only trailing WC team and recently first place KC by about 2000ish fans per game. Rock bottom STILL hasn't quite hit YET. Which is either 1970 or the late 1980's before the new stadium.
