Signing Murakami best Sox decision in ages. Very good investment.

Sox at LAA of Anaheim at 3:07 CDT 5/6 Schultz day
oldsoxMembers8 hr comment_4783549Author stats "I'm surprised Ramierez isn't there. Naylor, too." how is that the Mariners, Josh Naylor? somehow Jose Ramirez and Bo Naylor make a lot more sense here, logically unless I should assume Ramirez is really Julio Rodriguez instead.... ???????? the problem was my post wasn't copied into his response....so it was just stand alone, and looking at it hours after posting it seattle was also playing simultaneously... 2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
Everyone's already projecting 3B 2B other corner outfield for Bonemer. But they said the same things about Montgomery's defense. In fact, in the chat, it was mentioned once again moving him would alleviate back concerns compared to the wear and tear of SS. That said...having to live up to comparisons with K.Griffin, de la Cruz, Witt Jr., Tatis when he debuted, he's just not consistently going to be that electric type of highlight reel player (Cholowsky). Whether it's Swanson or Troy Tulo instead...a 4ish SS is still a big win. McGonigle or Wetherholt would be just fine as well...with more value than JJ or Bazzana as a true SS though.

Notre Dame fans would tell you otherwise...not sure of the Pope's position, though.

Observations in Anaheim from hi8is
Angels were impressed with how the Sox battled back yesterday...Venable having meetings/pep talks in the dugout and encouraging players, etc. Said team was night and day compared to 2024-25 teams. Not a joke/punchline but the beginnings of a real team to be reckoned with. Thought Murakami presence made a huge difference in providing more confidence to the rest of the lineup.

At what point do we start to believe?
Cubs with three consecutive walk offs so and are playing unreal at Wrigley at the moment. 1/3 is the most that can realistically be expected. Leasure contract is approximately item #39 on the list of organizational concerns.

How many Sox fans believed they were going to win down the stretch in 2012? Or win in 2008 on the road after Quentin went out with the self inflicted hamate? Win in 2000 after the pitching staff fell apart? Win on the road in Houston and fly in the face of their unassailable playoff runs? 1983? There's just one single isolated counter example. 2005. Indiana football fans didn't really believe that 2024 wasn't a fluke until they beat up OSU and Bama. For the Sox, 2020 was followed up by 2021/22. And then national embarrassments on a weekly basis from 2023-2025. You can label fans Panicans all you want, but Sox faithful over 125 years of franchise history are always going to be realistic or pragmatic until there's a tangible reason to believe otherwise. Doubting Thomases? Well, hoping/praying for miracles and the divine intervention of the Pope is basically all we're left to hold onto...

Besides Schwarber, there's another similar player... James Wood with the Nationals, huge power, huge Ks but Wood has more athletic ability and isn't a complete negative on the defensive side, mostly in LF. Ofc Murakami also getting better and better at 2B as he acclimates to mlb..

Who would take Bonemer over Cholowsky if they had the choice of one OR the other to build a franchise around?

“One of the most important things somebody ever said to me is you’ve reached this point, but as you continue to grow, the thing you have to do is be able to win,” Caitlin Clark told Yahoo Sports. “I feel like that's the point I'm kind of at now. You have to be able to win. That's my main focus, winning and winning a championship. Everything else will come along with that." Another area the Sox are lacking in at the moment. btw Judge Soto Harper all in the $7-9 million range for endorsements....compared to Ohtani's $120 million
