Sosa is fading into oblivion.

Pythagorean W-L: 67-85, 608 Runs, 695 Runs Allowed Underperforming that by a full 10 games.

There's not a worse team in baseball at producing outfielders than the White Sox the last five years. Whether it's FA or internally. Robertson and Fletcher just scream limited upside/fifth place team.

"Veteran leadership." Well, that could have been much worse...

The Red Sox missed the playoffs 3/4 or 4/5 years or whatever that streak is... Making the playoffs (finally) again and replacing the Devers deal with Anthony and Crochet is a big win for them. They kept their three most important young players in that trade. Meidroth was never going to factor into the equation for them. They already had a boatload of outfielders as well as Narvaez at catcher, too.

Not if they never get out of fifth place. The impact of one Cy Young winner on an organization is worth a lot more than 1.5 fWAR points. Where would the Tigers be without Skubal, or the Royals without Witt? The Twins without Buxton, etc. You still need star players for White Sox fans to get really excited and believe in their team. Even guys like Sale and Abreu weren't enough...because the roster was pretty mediocre from #11-25. Without Braden...you don't have a genuine middle of the order hitter to supplement Teel and Colson. You need to have at least 3. Arguably four wI think a below average rotation and pen. Right now they're more like 1 1/2...Colson needs to be a lot closer to 240 than 200. That strikeout rate is just crazy the last weeks or so.

Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS

Why would you want the constant noise bombardment of planes taking off and landing around the stadium? How would that be easier access than the current location? I mean...if it was something very unique like Osaka's airport is basically surrounded by the ocean/bay on all sides...splash home runs like SF are fun. But then you're creating another problem for those landing and arriving for flights when they have to fight their way through game day traffic...causing untold numbers of accidents. And that works in Japan because everyone in comfortable taking the incredibly safe and clean metro/subway to baseball games, so parking less of a concern. -
fWAR totals Meidroth 2.1 Teel 2.0 Montgomery 1.9 Sosa 1.2 Vargas 1.1 Quero 0.1 Baldwin -0.6 total=7.8 Garrett Crochet 5.5

Guardians are amazingly resilient…will be 10 wins in their last 11. White Sox, meanwhile, dead team walking at this point. Twins just missed a Larnach 3 run Homer to the wall that would have turned a 10-1 Yankees' lead to 10-10 tie in Minnesota. 10-8 Yankees going to the 7th. -

According to Stone...got away from getting ahead of the hitters with FBs and started pitching backwards off his change and curve. As well as poor location/command within the strike zone. -

One thing’s for sure…Teel is one of the emerging leaders of the younger wave of players. -

No Steve Stone, there’s not more talent when Garrett Crochet isn’t on the roster. Not sure the Red Sox would trade Crochet back for the entire White Sox starting lineup. Maybe…??? Basallo trying to justify that contract extension. Crooked number for the wrong team. -

Sosa looked like Pete Incaviglia or Kevin Reimer at first. Meidroth and Montgomery showing range limitations…first step burst a bit lacking. -

The Sox aren't going to spend big money for a corner power bat with Braden likely up at some point next season...and definitely not going to give 2-3 year contracts that extend into 2027. They'll be lucky to get a Josh Bell or Dominic Smith type. -
If you watch almost all the games, day in and day out, he's just not very good defensively...no matter where you stick him. Sometimes they are purely physical mistakes, at other times, simply baseball IQ issues. The history of the White Sox fixing below average players defensively while they're still with the organization, it's a list you can count the numbers over the last twenty years with just one hand. All of this wouldn't matter so much if the Sox had 5-6 very solid defenders at other positions, but that's just not the case heading into 2026.

Why not winter ball?
-
If Oppor and Murphy are who the Sox are re lying on to take "next steps" if Schultz and Smith have further set backs...even catching the Twins in 2026 seems like a pipe dream. I'm not sure that we feel confident about any of our current starting lineup being around in 2028 other than Colson Montgomery (hopefully) somewhere, the two catchers and Braden in RF.

Doesn't have any weapons on offense other than Collins...

Is that good enough for even fourth place next year?

Only had to go 6-9 to avoid 100 losses and now it's already down to 6-5. Alexander 6.5 era in August and 7.5 before tonight in September...10/11 appearances with an earned run is something.
