  1. 2. Exactly staying within letter of the law. Another Kris Bryant lawsuit lol...
  3. Shohei Ohtani homers (4) on a fly ball to right field. 45 game on base steak now still a long way to go for all time record "The streak is also the longest active streak in MLB, and more than halfway to the all-time record of 84 games set by Ted Williams in 1949. He is 14 away from the Dodgers' record held by Duke Snider, with 58." LA now on pace for 127-35...if 4-0 lead holds Ohtani 118 ev on a severe pull-hook foul ball
  4. Over JR's dead body. Doesn't want to even bother to drive up the price for other teams.
  5. How about trying this? Worked for Andy Pages so far... He trained throughout the offseason using the latest pitching machine 'Trakjet Machine,' (company based in Ontario) which is now quite popular in Major League Baseball (Nats were last to add, but now have three), and it was revealed that he only set it to Paul Skenes, last year's National League Cy Young Award winner (Pittsburgh Pirates), and saw positive effects from practicing against it.
  6. AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS Mead22 .273 1 4 1 .860
  7. CHW -31 TOR -19 Philly -15
  8. In theory he replaces Dominguez as closer next season....but generating offense has to be far and away the biggest single concern ATM.
  9. Obviously the previous TJ works against Taylor...that said not many guys at that velo have held on long term as starters but at least Crochet has made it so far.
  10. Will Gasparino, Cashel Dugger, and Mulivai Levu (#92 prospect) each homered as part of two-hit afternoons, while Aidan Espinoza added a multi-hit performance of his own and chipped in an RBI from the designated hitter spot. Eight of nine starters recorded hits, with Roch Cholowsky, Roman Martin, Payton Brennan, and Aiden Aguayo each contributing a knock to round out UCLA's balanced offensive effort.
  11. 50/50 reliever risk "Few pitchers can match McDougal's ability to light up a radar gun and spin a breaking ball. His fastball sits in the upper 90s and peaks at 101, though it comes with more downhill plane than life and can get pounded if he doesn't command it well. His high-spin 78-82 mph curveball features so much downer movement that it's both extremely difficult to hit or land in the strike zone, so his upper-80s slider that also has tremendous depth is more effective. McDougal is similar to Grant Taylor in that he's a right-hander with overwhelming stuff and not much finesse. After control and command woes led to a demotion to Single-A in July 2024, he dedicated that offseason to getting in better shape and did a much better job of locating his pitches last year. He could be a mid-rotation starter, but he doesn't trust his upper-80s changeup with some fade and still needs to add more polish, so it's also possible that his best long-term fit is as a late-inning reliever." mlb.com
  12. Maybe not Martin Perez....but team needs at least one veteran guy like a Houser or Civale to stabilize that rotation while they run 15 youngsters in and out. Who's the leader of this team now? Hard for Teel to do it from IL or Colson hitting how he is now.
  13. Has Fathom gotten on board with GT over Roch?
  14. Cubs' fans already jumping back off the bandwagon.
  15. You simply have no choice when you're operating with a Bottom 3 payroll but to innovate like CLE TB MIL
  16. 4-6 years is the going rate for the rest of mlb. They can also claw back money through insurance...like SD with Darvish.
  17. It's likely Sandlin is never worth that money being wasted on Hicks, fwiw. Nobody would have predicted Robert or Justin Crawford on this obp list. 1 Yordan Alvarez DH .516 2 Ben Rice 1B .490 3 Andy Pages CF .481 4 Sal Stewart 1B .469 5 Luis Robert Jr. CF .458 6 Jose Altuve 2B .443 6 Yandy Díaz DH .443 6 Taylor Ward LF .443 9 Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B .433 10 Justin Crawford CF .422
  18. They really have that us against the world thing going for them. Fourth best record the last 15 years. I know Shane Bieber did everything possible from his side to stick around. (Of course you also have Clase/Lopez).
  19. Divorce/Applebee's or Perkins mistress. He did give everyone that miraculous fifteenth major.
  20. What is the value of building trust/commitment from young players? Look at Jose Ramirez giving two "hometown discount" extensions...
  21. Wasting Taylor early doesn't make any difference when you're not scoring runs. It would be just as logical to hold him out for 7-8-9 hitters and run up his stats for a porential trade.
  22. 85/90% odds he's a complementary player...certainly in LF.
  23. The last decade of Sox baseball is complete and utter bs. JR himself said no more long term extensions after Danks imploded. He has been true to his word. The longest contracts have been Lynn and Keuchel. You're the only one who still wants to reward Getz with a contract extension...you realize that? And Cali, maybe?
  24. 25 Kansas City Royals 48 27 San Francisco Giants 47 28 Boston Red Sox 46 28 Cincinnati Reds 46 30 Chicago White Sox 43
