No, just what I'm sure is a China-pirated collection of wordwide networks/feeds that I only pay $10-15 USD per month or so for... in addition to the MLBTV.com package. For example, I have CBS TNT TBS but no Tru for NCAA Tourney games. All the big four (NFL NBA MLB NHL) sports channels. ESPN1/2. All the premium movie channels, etc.
-
FS1/FS2/HUBI are the channels I DON'T get in Chinese subscription package... Watched WBC from Korean and Japanese channels so far. Weirdly, the four Japanese sports channels weren't showing Japan live last night but rerunning Cuba/Australia instead.

https://www.mlb.com/news/guardians-questions-to-answer-on-opening-day?game_pk=719088 If these are legitimately their three biggest problems... their prospect depth is obviously light years ahead of the White Sox. -
Other than Montgomery and Ramos... not feeling all that confident about those young infielders. And unless Anderson was playing CF everyday... it wouldn't elevate his value any from a FA standpoint to take him off SS. You don't do it for Elvis Andrus. Now maybe if Robert was hurt again... you'd have to consider it at least.

Shades of Avi Garcia injuries in RF there with that size... -
Most of those Latin American pitchers without 95+ fastballs are masters of the junkball/offspeed game. Of course, the same is true in Japan/Korea/Taiwan when the majority are throwing 88-91/92.

Should be deGrom Verlander Cease Burnes Kershaw Cortes... etc.

Three way tie for second goes to which team now?
-
Two more innings to go. US/Colombia in warm-up. Have to win that one in order to advance, right? Or another one of those crazy tie-breaker situations? A loss would mean a 3 way tie with Colombia and Canada...not sure how all the tiebreakers would shake out there.

Puerto Rico beating DR would be one of the bigger upsets of the WBC ... obviously PR has a ton of talent of their own, but still. Everyone had DR, Japan and USA as their top 3 picks. Almost impossible to go against Japan at this point. Cuba just doesn't have enough hitting outside top 4 guys and their pitching depth is relatively weak/er now, too.

Going to anything close to the NBA post-season where you have like 18-20 teams just waters down the meaningful nature of a 162 game season. Them they'd have to go back to 154, 150 games...maybe down into the 140s even which would save the White Sox potential days on the IL I guess. Ownersight prefer if extended postseason gives them 15-20% more tv revenue compared to the loss of 4-11 home games in September when attendance is dead except postseason penant races.

Sounds like something Scott Reifert or Merkin came up with... Tax penalties, lol? Now we are adding up separate contracts and putting them together? Might as well add Sale's Red Sox contract to his Sox one. Note can reach is different from guaranteed. See 2025 Yoan Moncada contract terms. -
19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Guardians, who declined comment, have a contract with DSG that runs through 2027. It pays them between $47 million and $54 million a year. Now that DSG has filed for bankruptcy here are a couple of ways this could affect the Guardians. If DSG rejects its contract outright with the Guardians, or any other team it has a deal with, MLB, according to sources, would quickly get the rights back and take steps to make sure the games would be televised. If DSG refuses to pay the Guardians, or any other team it has a deal with, it could still broadcast the games because it would continue to collect revenue without having to pay rights fees. Meanwhile, MLB would have to go to bankruptcy court to get the rights back, which would be a lengthy process. MLB released this statement last night: “Diamond Sports Group’s bankruptcy declaration today is an unfortunate development that we have been expecting. Despite Diamond’s economic situation, there is every expectation that they will continue televising all games they are committed to during the bankruptcy process. Major League Baseball is ready to produce and distribute games to fans in their local markets in the event that Diamond or any other regional sports network is unable to do so as required by their agreement with our Clubs." https://www.cleveland.com/sports/2023/03/guardians-games-on-bally-sports-still-in-limbo-as-diamond-sports-group-files-for-bankruptcy.html -
19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
"The Post reported that Diamond stands to lose $20 million annually on San Diego alone. The Union-Tribune previously reported that approximately $50 million the Padres are owed from its agreement with Bally Sports San Diego would be diminished or even completely wiped out in 2023 with a bankruptcy filing. According to The Post, MLB has not yet finalized exactly how teams in affected markets would be able to view games while the league negotiates with cable companies for lower contracts. MLB would likely settle on pay schedules for both traditional TV and streaming options, though games could be made available free of charge until the details are ironed out." https://www.gaslampball.com/2023/3/14/23639149/san-diego-mlb-stream-padres-games-tv -
19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
"The most notable development for fans of teams whose local broadcasting deals are carried through Bally is that the company confirmed the RSN “will continue to operate in the ordinary course during the Chapter 11 process.” The corporation added it has approximately $425MM in cash to fund the business during its restructure. Diamond is responsible for local broadcasts for 14 major league teams*. Kosman reported yesterday that Diamond would try to restructure its deals with some of the clubs but was planning to entirely reject its contracts with the Diamondbacks, Padres, Guardians and Reds. (Diamond didn’t provide any specifics on its planned course of action in today’s release.) According to the Post, MLB is planning to step up for teams whose contracts are abandoned and stream them in-market for free while the league searches for alternatives. There’ll surely be more developments over the coming weeks and months, but the long-anticipated bankruptcy for the fledgling RSN corporation has officially been set in motion." -
Moncada singles yet again... promptly picked off first. On base something like 12 of last 15 opportunities.

Jerry sucks? -
Moncada smart ba#running to freeze on liner almost snared right in front of him, bases loaded again. Can break game open here.
-
Despaigne is like the Goodyear Blimp... yet still seems like a savvy hitter though. Tons of int'l experience. 2-1 Cuba bottom 5. One out runners 1st and 2nd. Robert HBP... Moncada must have singled or walked. Quite a tear of OBP.
-
Santos just made a heckuva catch in LF on the warning track...stabbed it at the last second.
-
Nice opportunity double from Moncada but dont love his habit of watching it too long. 7 for his last 10 after a bad start to WBC.
