Both post season heroes this year with multiple game winners weren't wanted by their original teams. Alvarez traded by the Dodgers for a reliever and anyone could have claimed Oscar Gonzalez last year.
-
No longer an Astros' fan?
-
Remember when Luis Robert could make a play like that? Guardians continue to peck away. But tough to imagine going to Clase again after yesterday.
-
That was huge for the Yankees. This one is going to come down to the bullpens again in all likelihood.
-
Well all those infield hits add up to rising pitch counts and additional pressure...not to mention all his steals. And Just not sure they can expect repeats from Kwan Gonzalez and Gimenez. Maybe? Benetti doing USC/Utah for those interested.
-
Crazy thing is Rosario is the only key position player who could become a FA after next year. Jesus really good player, but so much minor league depth at that spot, including Arias. Think investing in the rotation and Abreu would be enough.
-
At least he can play the outfield and first decently.
-
Taylor also really struggled this year as well, which is partially why Lux is unlikely to go anywhere.
-
Wouldn't have pitched to Gimenez with Arias behind him. Severino pitch count way up. Kwan continues to set the table.

2022 College Football Season
caulfield12 replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Best game of the season, TN survives Alabama in Knoxville. -
Kelenic .276 ops in the postseason, despite a two hit game recently. Frazier couldn't get the key hit this time.

The Dodgers won 22 more games than the Padres during the regular season. No team has won a postseason series against a team as many games above them in the standings since the 1906 White Sox.

Juan Soto only sporting a .600 ops in the post season. Pretty much continues to be all pitching bullpen defense and Machado/Trent Grisham, who hit just .184 in the regular season. Hader got his swag back. Nevertheless, will see tons of complaints if LAD NYY and Braves all miss the LCS. Meanwhile, Houston just continues to perform year after year, despite the changing faces.

3/22 with RISP. Dodgers probably worse. Series of hitting futility. Grisham Machado Nola carrying team. Cronenworth usually comes through in clutch. Should be 5 or 6 runs (Padres) vs 1-2. 16 vs. 14 LOB.

Let the Dodgers stay in the game when they could have knocked them out early. That almost always come back to bite you.

Guardians were less than hours away from trading Jose Ramirez
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
Per Ken Rosenthal: Jose Ramirez trade rumors: Guardians used Padres to increase urgency While Rosenthal doesn’t flat-out say it, it sounds like the Guardians shopped Ramirez in part to get him to sit back down at the table. Ramirez wanted to get a deal done to stay in Cleveland, but hearing that the front office was making him available to other potential suitors scared him. https://fansided.com/2022/04/13/mlb-rumors-jose-ramirez-padres/ Blue Jays were the other team interested/involved. Padres were going to move him back to 2B. Would have been really ballsy on the part of Preller to go back to the same team that fleeced him in the Clevinger deal. -
Machado vs. Moncada lol? https://www.mlb.com/news/manny-machado-continues-to-drive-padres-success
-
Fri Gonsolin/Snell (Gonsolin will struggle to go 4-5 based on recent workloads) Sat Anderson/Musgrove (pitching in his home town) Sun Darvish Sunday on three day's rest, they absolutely can't start Clevinger again...LA would counter with Urias/Kershaw

He basically gave Muncy a home run and brief lead last night. It was such a good offspeed pitch everyone was locked up, including the HP umpire.

https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2014/05/29/royals-fire-hitting-coach-pedro-grifol-name-dale-sveum-as-replacement/ FYI. Even if eight years ago, not the greatest look when we know what happened eventually in 2014-15 without him.

Sure, who wouldn't want five playoff victories, Top 6-8 attendance, and doing part of that without one of the better players in baseball...including three victories over 100+ win teams. I don't agree with the 67% historical likelihood of their winning the series after a 1-1 split on the road, but that stadium will be rocking. Most importantly, you had an owner willing to buy into his GM's vision rather than the owner limiting or controlling that GM because he didn't 100% trust his baseball instincts.

Robert is not a part of this conversation, as the most important position player remaining?
-
Trey Hillman was the former Japanese manager who ended up (somewhat surprisingly) with the Royals
-
They need to get rid of human umps. BRUTAL. Probably decided the course of the entire game.
