  1. None of it makes any sense. Or that we should NOW be taking the time to focus on and celebrate these three consecutive victories over "playoff caliber" teams and ignoring everything else that has happened the entire season...like there's some type of award for 2 or 3 game streaks. Another thing...the Mariners basically fell apart the season they traded Graveman to Houston at the end while simultaneously trying to compete, it's not like he has ever been considered a clubhouse problem at any of his previous stops. And Kelly has spent most of his time either injured or writing a book.
  2. Burger being the one at fault here makes absolutely zero sense...he's the only longer term guy traded.

  4. If anything, that story somehow makes Anderson look almost sympathetic compared to Grandal. Sharing it makes it increasingly difficult to get another MLB job. More about TA's bunker mentality and defensiveness the last year. Plus it makes him look kind of two faced for supporting him publicly in the past.
  5. Jesus believed in his teammates, too. Until he joined the White Sox.
  6. Katz has had a LONG year already.
  7. Well that was a Houdini act..
  8. Averages 18.5 pitches per inning...worst in majors.
  9. Dave Stewart....made some crazy trades and was a LaRussa disciple and pitched for him in Oak. Literally, TLR was over him in the organizational hierarchy.
  10. How can you name your kid after a character in That Hate U Give? I get it, Anderson's number is 7 too, but it's about the most anti-Jackie Robinson thing I can imagine doing.
  11. At least Robert was visibly hustling there more out of the box...
  12. Benintendi 8th worst OAA in outfield 8th worst slugging percentage Yankees were only willing to go four years...Hahn topped it.
  13. Hahn is never going to get it. You talk about the culture of keeping things in the clubhouse and then proceed to air out dirty laundry with Middleton. The #1 enemy of the White a Sox is not social media cesspools...it's the cesspool they allowed to thrive under the last three coaches without addressing it until it was far too late. It's also the job of the manager and GM to pull his team out of wretched starts instead of watching them snowball.
  14. Twins suddenly five games up on the Guardians... COL 44-67 CHW 45-68

  16. But the Yankees haven’t won in 14 years. Mets and Padres spent their way out of the playoffs. Teams like Cincy TB Mil AZ Miami Balt competitive for most of the the season. The only reason the White Sox are still in Chicago is/was the limited spending across the AL Central the last two decades…especially CLE and Minnesota.
  17. The Royals haven’t had a good/winning/positive culture since 2016…
  18. Pushed Epstein out too. Chicken and beer with Lackey Beckett Lester, etc.
  19. Girardi will get brought up here as well. Scioscia…the anti-Maddon.
  20. All I know is guys like Grandal Pollock and Benintendi seem/ed like anti-leaders… And this puts all those rumors about what Madrigal was doing to create tensions in the clubhouse in a completely different light because he probably expected a team culture like Oregon State where everyone toed the line. Add his strong religious beliefs into a clubhouse split along racial and ethnic lines…
  21. Life will go back to normal when summer vacation is over again on Friday...lol.
  22. "He’s the kind of guy who knows what’s expected from various roles on an MLB coaching staff, and that kind of knowledge will help him connect and get the most out of his staff in Chicago. He’s also widely respected by players, especially Spanish-speaking players from Latin America (Grifol is fluent in Spanish). Considering so much of the talent in MLB hails from that part of the world (including the White Sox) that kind of skill set is invaluable, especially from a manager’s perspective." Yet here we are with our last three managers having the ability to speak fluent Spanish...and dealing with or "controlling" the core Spanish players has become the heart of the Sox storyline during this rebuild. Obviously Anderson has a part to play...but the shifting away from Abreu/Giolito/Hendriks as team leaders and perhaps Lynn to a rudderless ship can't be denied any longer. The failure to cut the cancers out largely for financial reasons in the cases of Grandal and Moncada. Trading away Burger to avoid third base controversy for 2024 when Moncada might not even play a single inning...or the constant fear of moving Yoan to any other position on the field. If the sleeping rookie is Santos...you've basically got an entire clubhouse culture where the Latin players feel they have an extra layer or protection or entitlement...which is ironically symbolized now by Tim Anderson, whose actions have further divided the team into three camps: white players, Latin players and Tim Anderson. Pretty much the exact opposite of what they'd successfully created around Renteria...and was still relatively "fine" until LaRussa turned on the Terminator after the Twins' homer and things have never been as loose and relaxed from that point onwards.
