I'm not watching the game, can I get a play by play? -
Just get Thome away from the 3/4 spots and I'm happy. Sixth or Seventh would be a good spot for the big guy.

Do you guys not remember that Garcia has only pitched 73 innings at the ML level since '06? I can't believe we're even starting him..... -
YEEEEEEES! Glad I have him playing today.

Come on Blanks! You can do it!

Ackley almost got 10 million. This is out of control.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) Let's use the money we allocated for Morgado and others to go get some of those Cuban defectors. Didn't that money go into the Rios/Peavy fund?

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Not quite. They have a few more hours to work something out(even if the deadline has past) What's the point of the deadline then?

I don't normally wish for the worst to happen to people, but I really hope if Boras/Stras rejects a record deal that he gets hurt. Just so that eyes will be opened about Boras not being the answer.

What is your general feeling about the White Sox?

We have a large payroll, we should expect this team to be above .500 I think this team should be expected to win in the upper 80s -
You think some people would consider Quentin above average in LF? I guess he doesn't fail to make a lot of routine plays, but at the same time I've never felt impressed by him in anyway.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 12:25 AM) Make upper deck tickets $9 forever And bleacher seats $27 As demonstrated by the Buehrle series, they could sell out some games with that. Although this is a bit of a stretch, you're right. The lower premiums always get sold, so keep those the same, or even raise them five bucks. But the upper deck, you got to make that more affordable since its such a less enjoyable experience. They'd have much better draws with cheap upper deck and then they'd sell more food, more shop sales

In recent times, especially when playing at SS Nix has looked bad. But in the beginning of the year, when he was at his natural position of 2B Nix made a lot of jaw droppingly good plays to his right, great range there.

Brewers option Hardy, DFA Bill Hall, fire pitching coach

Good for Jason, I hope he sticks in the bigs for a little while. I am still angry today that Bourgeois stayed in AAA while Andy Gonzalez was remaining in MLB during a certainly forgettable season. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Is WAR an actual acronym? Also, I wanted to comment on Dye's complete lack of speed. Anyone notice that play earlier when (I believe) Konerko popped out to short RF and the guy bobbled it? After Dye noticed it had been dropped and began advancing to 2B, he looked like a normal person starting to run up a hill from a complete standstill. Yeah Dye does run like he's going uphill. Thome kinda looks like he runs like he pooped his pants too.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) If that's the case, can you really rank Rios at the very top? I understand that Rios is great defensively according to all of the stats, but I really know nothing about it because I haven't seen much of him in the field. I've seen a lot more games with Rios than Castro. I've always been impressed with Rios' defensive ability since he came up.
-
Where do you rank the current Sox players against one another in terms of defense for their primary position from best to worst? Consider his range, fielding, arm, and brain. Here are my rankings Best Alex Rios (range, fielding, arm) Jayson Nix (fielding, range) Brent Lillibridge (fielding, range) Dewayne Wise (range) Mark Kotsay (fielding) Paul Konerko (range, fielding) AJ Pierzynski (fielding, brain) Gordon Beckham (lacks range, everything else average) Alexei Ramirez (arm, range, but not brain nor fielding ability) Carlos Quentin (lacks range, everything else average) Jermaine Dye (arm) Scott Podsednik (ability to prance) Worst I have not seen enough of Castro to rank him. Thome and pitchers are not worth talking about. Who would you guys think is worst and best?

What's with the bunt hatred? Just because our team fails to execute too much? -
