  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I don't get that. I figured it was my favorite beers, not my favorite beers that can be found at 7-11. Why not? Every time Knight makes one of these lists, it's for popular things that are likely to have many of the same answers so we can create a legit Top 10 or 20 list. If everyone makes lists of beers that no one else is going to have, but you happen to love it and it's from some small brewery, then how the heck are we going to make a Top 10 list? I guess it would only take 2 or 3 people to have the same beer to get it into the Top 5/10. I mean, I really like a few SweetWater beers (SweetWater Blue would make my Top 20), but I'm not going to include it on my list b/c I don't think you can find that in Chicago (where many of the people on here are from) or many other places outside the Southeast. Also, I really liked the Dark Lord Imperial Stout (Three Floyds Brewing Co.) when I had one last year and it was probably one of the best 20 beers I've ever had, but I wouldn't include it on my list b/c no one else would. What's the point of making a joint top beer list if everyone's top beers are different? There would be no consensus.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) I've went through some of the full body scanners. Not specifically the ones at O'Hare but ones had other airports. As long as they have the resources to keep the lines down (as the scanners tend to take a bit longer), I have no issue with it. Bottom line while flying is inconvenient I'm pretty open as I have nothing to hide and I just want to get from point A to point B safely (most importantly) and hopefully without any significant delays. Same here. Also, I really don't care what some TSA agent sees if I were to go through a full-body scanner. If that's what they get-off to, so be it. I'd rather be a bit safer.
  3. QUOTE (Sox1422 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) I think I only listed out about a dozen beers or so and most of them were Craft Beers. I tried to avoid putting more than a few craft beers on my list of 20 b/c I figured nobody is going to have the same ones then. I tried to keep it to fairly popular beers that you can find just about anywhere (but not Miller, Coors, Bud, etc.)
  4. It's good to see McNabb's extension is really paying early dividends for the Redskins tonight... oh wait. Watching this makes me so pissed the Bears managed to lose to Washington. They suck.
  5. Michael Smith from ESPN is tweeting that the Redskins have signed McNabb to a 5 year, $78M extension ($40M guaranteed)... hahaha, are they f***ing serious? First he gets benched, then gets a huge extension?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) 2.5-3 hours or so depending on traffic. December can be kinda rough though, the roads and passes will snow themselves shut. Yeah, it's probably a little too far to hit up the Smokies from Nashville (plus, you're losing an hour heading into Eastern Time Zone).
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 03:31 AM) im gonna go ahead and be pretty ballsy and declare that there is no chance the Bears beat Miami Thursday.. Weve lost to Baltimore, New England, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh.. and shoulda beat Pitt but the refs screwed us over.. that's pretty much 4 of the best 5 teams in the NFL right there with Atlanta being the other.. It doesn't matter if Thigpen is playing QB, he can do plenty enough to win the game with the way our defense has been playing and my expectancy that Nolans blitzing is going to have a field day on Cutler.. Yall are lucky to have a 3rd-string QB of Thigpen's caliber. He was very solid when he played for the Chiefs. When I first heard that the Bears would be facing Miami's 3rd QB, I got excited thinking the defense would have a field day with that, but my expectations tempered when I found out they had Thigpen. That said, the Bears should still win.
  8. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 12:53 AM) I like Thursday night games when my team isn't playing. Yeah, I really just hate them because they're on NFL Network, which I don't get. If they were on ESPN or something, I'd probably be okay with Thursday night football.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) Hotels: you can stay at the Opryland Hotel, but its a good 20 dollar+ cab ride from downtown, and its pricey. However it is an impressive Vegas style hotel, but more wholesome. Never went there during Christmas season, but its supposeldy AMAZING, and probably worth going to even if you don't stay there. Places downtown are good and close to the night life, like the Renaissance, Sheraton, double tree. Other cheaper ones are bit farther out but are still nice, like the hampton or holiday inns on west end. I can vouch for this. The Christmas season is by far my favorite time of year, so my girlfriend took me to the Opryland last year, and it was amazing. I was in awe and never wanted to leave, haha.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I really hate Thursday games This.
  11. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) Woohoo, its been a LONG time coming. And, call me crazy, but this team is able to beat Auburn. That would be a bigtime BCS buster. Had the lead 27-21 AT Auburn, then turned the ball over 4 times in the 4th quarter. Lets see how it goes at a neutral site this time! I was pulling for you guys since I f***ing hate Florida. Congrats. Enjoy it while you can, though. The East is down big time, but won't be for long.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) Indiana's upcoming recruiting classes are shaping up to be the cream of the Big 10, and you can't underestimate the impact Zeller's commitment is going to have on players like Yogi. No offense jenks, but I find this ironic coming from an Illini fan who belongs to a fanbase that compares Jereme Richmond to Magic Johnson and M. Leonard to Dwight Howard. Now, fathom, that's ridiculous. Maybe one idiot Illinois fan said that, but I highly doubt that's being said. Granted I don't read Illini message boards, but there's no way the "fanbase" (which implies a lot of people) are comparing those two players to Magic and Dwight... And if they are, Illinois fans have become dumb as s***.
  13. Any thoughts on DeAnthony Arnett (#6 WR) committing to Tennessee? Getting him out of Michigan (and Big 10 in general) is quite the pull. I've felt pretty good about him for awhile now, but it's good to make it official. Our receiving core is going to be nasty in a year or two.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) I have it, too. I just figured the event happened in the earlier half of the 20th century, which still would've allowed Gordon Lightfoot to write a song about it. I thought the same thing. I have the song on my iTunes as well, but always thought it was an old wreck. I had no idea it was just 35 years ago.
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) And it did. "IT'S DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!!!" One of my favorite coaches rants, for sure. And you know what, I agreed with him about that 100%. His players had a month off of football. That's plenty of time when your a major D1 athlete.
  16. I was about to be so f***ing pissed when I saw this thread... thank god it's not true.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) I don't think the people revealing it should be turned into villians at all. But I just don't see why everyone suddenly thinks he shouldn't win the Heisman cause of what he did at Florida or what his rep has been rumored, but not proven to have done. He's one of the best eligible college players, and until its proven that he was paid to play at Auburn, thats not gonna change. Plus, I'm sure $200k is a deal for a player of his caliber in the SEC anyway. You've got that right. $200k is a freaking steal for what Cam Newton has done this year.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) So they found out that Cam Newton was going to get expelled from Florida because of academic cheating? What else is going to be uncovered about this guy? - 12 traffic citations - 1 felony - caught cheating (possibly numerous times) - asked for large sum of money to go to Miss St. (and likely received that large sum form Auburn) Yes, what else will be discovered? I love how the person(s) revealing this stuff about Cam have turned into the "villain" here. Amazing spin...
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) What the hell happened tonight? Looks like we should be ranked after all. Haha, I have no idea. All I can say is thank god it's the preseason. Awful performance, but I'd guess that's the worst they'll play all year so better now than later.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Aaron Craft Thank you Bruce Pearl for creeping him out all the way to Columbus. Not sure that's how it went down, but okay...
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 03:12 AM) ill wait till the bowl games before I decide that.. I don't think either of them could beat Oregon, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford, Iowa, or Wisconsin this should finally be the year we get to see I'm not a big proponent of either Boise St or TCU. In fact, I think they'd struggle to win 10 games if they played in a legit conference where they had to compete in big games every week. But, I'm not sure what you mean by this. I think we saw that Boise can beat a team like that when they beat Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. And Utah beat Bama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl, so I think we've seen that teams like that can beat the big dogs.
  22. That was one of the worst personal foul calls I've ever seen. There was no late hit whatsoever. It wasn't even helmet to helmet or anything... Are SEC refs doing this game or something? lol
  23. Seriously, it's quite possible the Illinois-Michigan basketball game could have the same score at halftime. Btw, I love that Michigan Stadium was playing the Antoine Dodson "Bed Intruder" remix over the PA system.
  24. Going to see Garth Brooks in Nashville on Dec. 19! One of the only shows he's done (and will do) since retiring b/c it's to raise money for the flood victims of central Tennessee. I'm so freaking ecstatic
  25. Did they ever say what Noah got the technical for? I can't figure it out.
