espn did a list of the ten franchises in mlb that were losing money last year..the sox wernt on that list...it wouldnt surprise if the sox were in the top ten in net revenue...the have a great cable deal and reinsey is making out like a bandit on the stadium deal..great parking deal..vendor deals..sox merchandise is still in the top 3rd ( i think 10th ) in baseball....this franchise is a gold mine despite all the cries of being poor...

...pitching, pitching and more pitching. and dont forget defense....budget teams its the only way to go
-
what do mean he couldnt hit a knuckle??? he has hit over 300 the past years...carlos has more power...jacque is by far the better defensive player...id take jacque just because im dying to see better team defense on the south side...though they are close

blown saves as a set up man or middle rilief is alot different than blown saves as a closer...closers almost always start the inning and any blown saves is of their own doing...set up men / middle rilief alot of times come in with runner's on base and have no room for error... -
but rowand was a dumbass that drove a dirtbike off a cliff..knowing the CF was his to lose he should have spent the off season (this is in my humble opinion - as a guy that never got paid to play hahaha) in winterball / working out to make sure he gave himself the best possible chance to prove himself... he's responsible for his own setback... he's very lucky though... alot of guys get one shot and thats it..they are never heard from again...he's got a 2nd chance..i hope he junked the dirtbike

i think you can rush an everyday player to the majors with less rish than a pitcher..but it is ideal to wait until they are ready...but this franchise is wierd..they rush pitchers and seem to take forever to bring up position players...reed might not show for another 3 years they way things run around here..probably about the same time borchard gets his next start

i cant even remember his name but he pitched for us last year as a spot starter...he was a soft tossing lefty kinda like mark buehrle..i cant for the kife of me remember his name and dont even know if he is still in our system but he did seem to have a pretty good idea of what he was trying to do who the hell was that???

i saw this on another forum but i dont have anyway of authenticating it..if anyone can prove or disprove it id appreciate it...but if it is true...tsk ..tsk..tsk Sounds like Wesley Clark truly believed that Saddam Hussein was a threat to humanity not long before the war in Iraq began. In late 2002, Clark told our U.S. Congress that, "There's no question that Saddam Hussein is a threat... Yes, he has chemical and biological weapons. He's had those for a long time. But the United States right now is on a very much different defensive posture than we were before September 11th of 2001... He is, as far as we know, actively pursuing nuclear capabilities, though he doesn't have nuclear warheads yet. If he were to acquire nuclear weapons, I think our friends in the region would face greatly increased risks as would we." hasnt wesley been saying all along he never backed a war against saddam????

what i got out of it was that the twins now owe so much money to players that didnt develop and now arnt worth what they are getting paid that they cant afford to tie up santana long term...i think the author is saying use this plan sparingly with only your best prospects..dont do it with every young player you have..

while thats technically true rex some things have changed danny wright for instance..he was coming off a 14 win season..people expected him to step up and do big things..he got injured and tanked..now no one is expecting anything out of him..its like we lost the danny wright of '02 rowand / harris were still unknowns and people were optomistic about them developing...after both were disappointments the optomism isnt near as high olivo..though he didnt have a bad year..was very good defensively he was pretty bad at the plate..there were people last year saying he could steal 20 -30 bases..did he even steal 5???... we didnt see enough of him to really gauge his talent...after watching him hit and seeing him swing and miss at so many pitches by more than a foot off the ball i get the feeling we are looking at a 200 hitter...he's a functional catcher but the optomism on him has cooled too.. people were also expecting borchard to show by june and do big things...he's been a HUGE disappointment so far and his stock has dropped quite a bit... you forgot about flash gordon...he had a great year..much better than i thought he would..probably much better than even his biggest supporters...he and marte basically held the bullpen down by themselves...his loss is big.. konerko..came off an all star year and really disappointed us...he went from no worries to now being a question mark.. crede lived up to expectation and i think everyone is happy with his progress... while people are still high on buehrle and garland they didnt exactly have stellar years last year..plus i think in the back of everyone's mind we worry about i8f the next pitch might land either on the DL..just seems to be our luck with pitchers lately.. loiaza..now he was a surprise and while some worry he will revert back to the EL of old i think we all are more optomistic about him this year than we were last year.. the subtraction of colon is huge...he came in here as a 20 game winner...alot of people last year were predicting a 2nd place for the sox until the colon trade...not replacing him leaves a huge hole that cant be overstated alot of things have changed...most for the worst

actually its time to turn the front office over to new personnel
-
bernard wouldnt be a bad pick up for a team looking for bench help...unfortunately the sox dont need a 4th outfielder...we are loaded with them...we need a real starting CF..not a corner outfielder that has back up written all over him given the position because he has a grinder mentality...

cmon wayne.. a week before he admitted he cheated with mionica he let his wife go on national on good moring america IIRC and let her tell all of a america that her husband never cheated with monica and that this was some kind of a VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY all dreamed up by rebuplicans trying to ruin his reputation...he knew what she was gonna say and at that point had to realize the truth would be out soon but he let her do it anyways... not only did he cheat on his wife he then lets her go out on national TV and lets her finish the job he started and completely make a fool of herself... what kind of a man would do that????..defending this guy is insane
